Kapitel 156: Chapter 22: Rise of Raven

The first light of dawn crept over New Haven, spilling softly into the medical tent where Raven lay motionless on the cot. George sat by her side, his hand still resting over hers, his eyes heavy with exhaustion and worry. He'd spent the entire night in that chair, flanked by Lucy and Jackie, all three taking turns keeping watch, as if their presence alone could will her back to health. Every slight movement of her chest, each faint breath, gave them a glimmer of hope, but as the hours wore on, uncertainty gnawed at them.

Finally, just as dawn broke, a subtle change swept across Raven's face. Her fingers twitched slightly, and a soft flush of color returned to her cheeks, dispelling the pallor that had clung to her through the night. George straightened, barely daring to breathe. He glanced at Lucy and Jackie, who were both stirring from their fitful naps, sensing the shift in the air.

"Raven…" George whispered, leaning closer.
