I wondered how he would answer my question. Would he tell me the truth?

“It will be held in three months' time. All Alphas are welcome to participate. They would engage in rounds of combat to determine the strongest Alpha. The winner would then face off against me as their last opponent since I’m still the Alpha Prince. Besides the combat, their business abilities will be a part of selection too,” he explained.

“Really?” I asked him lightly, making sure to hide my disappointment that he didn't tell me the truth. “I’m sure you’ll be the winner, then.”

He laughed. “How are you so sure?”

“Because I know my mate is the strongest of all Alphas. The other Alphas won't be a match for you.” I expressed my strong belief in his ability to stroke his ego.

As expected, my words made his lips curl into a triumphant and smug smile.

“Theo, do you need a training partner? Do you need my assistance?” I asked him cautiously.
