Once she had closed the mansion's glass door behind her, Iris scanned her surroundings for a short bit.
And just like what one of Luna's subordinates had informed her on her phone beforehand, neither the unknown forces threatening Ronald's life nor Luna's sect members were anywhere to be seen whatsoever, and they apparently won't be coming back for awhile either.
Iris then couldn't help but glance back at Ronald through the door she had just exited from with a sad look on her face.
Even though she knew that she would only be gone for less than a day, it pained her to leave Ronald alone like this.
After all, when Iris had initially regressed back to the day before she had first met Ronald and later found out that Luna and three of the other girls have regressed back as well, she had planned on not going down the cultivation path again until Luna and the rest of those girls have taken care of Ye Fan simply because she wanted to devote all of her time serving Ronald to the fullest.
But now that that it was clear to her that she couldn't rely on them any longer, especially not after everything that's happened so far in the last couple of days, Iris knew that she had to sacrifice some of her time being with Ronald in order to make sure that he actually gets his 'good ending' this time.
So after taking a good look at Ronald's nonchalant appearance through the glass doors one last time, Iris started heading towards the capital city.
***
After arriving at the hearts of the capital city, which was completely filled to the brim with people and buildings towering over one another, Iris began looking for a museum-like green building that had carved jade pillars, ornamental archways, and was adorned with jade sculptures depicting auspicious symbols and mythical creatures on it.
And almost immediately after she had began searching, she had found it.
To be honest, the building, which was actually a jade factory, sort of stucked out like a sore thumb, since not only was it one of the only few buildings in the capital city not nested in between all of the other skyscrapers and buildings in the area and had about a half acre of space around it, but it also appeared so grandiose from afar that it looked as though it was a palace instead.
But of course, she knew that this design was simply made by choice, and so after looking at it for a few more seconds, Iris made her way to the front of the jade factory with 6 guards standing outside of it.
Now if she her memories from her previous life served her correctly, there was only suppose to be two guards here guarding the facility at all times, but she didn't really think much of it, so she started to reach out for the door handle.
Before she could open it however...
"Sorry, you're not allowed to enter." One of the guards, who wore a suit and was the tallest one amongst the rest of the other guards, suddenly intervened.
"I have the money." Assuming that they were denying her entry due to the fact that she was currently wearing a maid outfit on, Iris replied back in an aloof manner.
"It's not that. There's just a private event going on here right now, so come back another time." The same guard said.
Iris stared at the guard expressionlessly for a bit since she didn't believe the guard's words at first, but after noticing that three of the other guards with suits on had wore a completely different attire compared to the other two guards, who wore traditional clothings, she realized that he was telling the truth.
But if that was the case, then who was the one hosting this private event?
This jade factory was owned by a major family that was very respected even amongst all of the major families residing in the capital city after all, so even if a major family wanted to host a private event here, which most likely wouldn't happen at a place like this anyways, they would be denied.
Only the behemoths of China could request to host a event here and actually get permission to.
Nevertheless, since Iris absolutely needed to obtain something here, she intended to get into that jade factory no matter what.
So Iris simply nodded her head at the guards, and turned around to leave the jade factory's premises.
Once she was out of the jade factory's vicinity and away from the guard's visions however, she ran to the side of the jade factory while still being out of its premises and took out a laser pointer that was illegal to have.
Then after double checking behind her to make sure that nobody was secretly watching her, she pointed the laser pointer directly at one of the cameras on the side of the jade factory.
Immediately afterwards, the camera began to flare up, which she quickly took as an opportunity to swiftly enter the premise, run up on the side of the jade factory's walls, and land on top of it all before the camera could recover and see again.
After she had landed on top of the jade factory though, Iris couldn't help but feel an extremely sharp pain coursing through her body and noticed that the wound from her abdomen had opened up again.
But since she was already used to the pain now, she simply ignored it and went straight to the roof hatch that was so well disgused as a just another glazed roof tile that she wouldn't of have known about it had it not been for the fact that if she was shown it in her previous life.
Now as for why the jade factory had a secret roof hatch to begin with was something that Iris didn't really understand either, but since she knew that the major family that owned this jade factory were extremely cautious people, she figured that this roof hatch was just a secret escape route in case if anything went wrong.
Regardless, as soon as Iris opened the hatch, she started to scan the exhibit room through the opening, with the intent of actually stealing a imperial jade from this jade factory.
About midway through her search though, Iris's eyes suddenly froze at one particular spot in the exhibit room and she instantly casted probably the most murderous look on her face yet ever since her regression.
Why?
Because there she had just seen two people conversing with one another.
Gu Changsheng, whom she wasn't really surprised about, nor did she honestly care about anyways.
And...
'Ye Fan.'
