Kapitel 12: Surprising Answers

"Don't you dare!" Haruto whispered, his tone low and full of rage, "Say one more bad thing about Kanna, and I swear, I'll kill you" he warned with a chilling intensity.

Yusuke, staring back at him, his anger visible in his expressions, While Haruto's grip on his collar remained firm.

In a rush, Makoto appeared, stepping forward, grabbing Haruto and pulling him back from Yusuke, "Hey, Hey, relax everyone" he said, smiling nervously.

"I want to speak to the owner," Yusuke said with greeted teeth.

Makoto quickly moves to Yusuke fixing his collar, "Im really sorry" he said, his tone earnest "Please, accept my apologies on his behalf,"

"I said I want to speak to the owner," Yusuke shouted loudly, his voice filled with anger.

At that moment, another staff member approached, concern etched on his face, "Hey what's happening here, i hope everything is fine" he asked in a nervous tone.

Yusuke turned his furious gaze on that person, "Are you the owner?" he demanded, seeming serious.

The worker's voice trembled, "Umm, no, I'm just a worker," he replied hesitantly.

Yusuke's gaze grew more intense, as he marched towards him, "Take me to the owner" he demanded.

The staff member, clearly scared, quickly nodded and started leading the way with Yusuke following closely behind.

Makoto, with expressions of both concern and frustration, shot a glance at Haruto, who was staring down at the floor, his fury barely contained…

Later, after the shift, Haruto stood with his hand clasped behind his back, his gaze fixed downwards with his boss sitting across the desk, his face flushed with anger.

"That was completely reckless Haruto," the boss said, his voice filled with frustration, "How can you put your hands on a customer?" he shouted asking.

Haruto's gaze remained fixed on the floor, controlling his anger, "He was my old friend and was trash talking about my family" he said in a low tone.

The Boss' frustration flared, "Whatever, this is your working place, and remember customers are everything, this is your final warning! if i get one more of your complain then im kicking you out of this place!"

Haruto stood with his fist clenched, gaze remained downcast, struggling to contain his fury.

"Now get the hell out of here!" The boss shouted loud, his voice filled with rage.

Burning with anger, Haruto spun around and stormed out…

Later on, reaching his apartment, Haruto stormed inside slamming the door behind him, angrily flipped on the lights, shrugging off his long coat and carelessly tossing it aside. Without any second glance he went straight towards his bed and collapsed face first, his frustration heavy in the air.

After a few minutes of lying down, Haruto finally stood back up and walked towards his long coat, pulling out the phone from the pocket of his long coat, sitting back on the bed, unlocking the screen. A single notification from Kanna caught his eye.

As soon as she saw Kanna's name, the anger inside him faded, replaced by a gentle warmth, and a soft smile slowly appeared on his face.

Haruto was gazing at the screen with a soft, warm smile. He then tapped on the notification which led him to Kanna's inbox, her message read, "Hey you there?"

As Haruto continued to smile at the message, he then noticed the timestamp, her message had been sent two hours ago, he then glanced at her status which was currently offline.

Haruto maintained his smile, and began typing, "Sorry for being late, I was busy, but I'm here, feel free to call whenever you're free" he hit send, and continued gazing at the inbox. Suddenly his thoughts drifted back to Yusuke's words, "I know she is in a relationship with someone else but I bet she'd be interested in dating a rich guy like me" the echoes of those words filling his mind.

"Is she really dating someone?" Haruto thought to himself, "Is it really true? can she really love someone rather than me?" he asked himself, a hint of sadness in his eyes.

Later that same night, Haruto came out of the kitchen, wearing his pajamas, carrying a bowl. He settled onto his bed and started eating, he glanced at his phone noticing the absence of any new notification, a slight look of disappointment crossed on his face and he continued eating in silence.

After an hour, Haruto was sitting on his bed, his back against the wall, staring blankly at the ceilings, lost in thoughts, when suddenly the ringing of his phone shattered the silence.

Haruto eagerly reached for his phone, and it was ringing with Kanna's incoming call, his face instantly lit up with joy and anticipation, he swiftly answered the call and held his phone to his ear.

"Hey" Haruto said, his voice overflowing with joy.

"Hey, are you back home?" Kanna asked, her tone relaxed and casual.

"It's been two hours since I got back," Haruto replied, smiling brightly.

"Oh, I'm really, i was busy" Kanna replied, with a hint of regret in her tone.

"No, it's completely fine," Haruto said reassuringly, "So, how was your day?" he asked.

"It was fine," Kanna replied, "My grandma is here to stay, so I won't be able to talk for long."

Haruto's expressions softened with understanding, "Oh, okay" he said, "If you're busy, we can talk later."

Kanna let out a soft laugh, "No, its fine, I'm in my room right now, but soon enough grandma will come here to put oil on my hair"

Haruto smiled warmly, "Is your hair still as long and beautiful as it used to be?" he asked with a gentle smile.

There was a moment of silence from Kanna's side, before she spoke up, "Mmhmm, I never even thought about cutting it."

Haruto kept smiling, "Well, I guess your current boyfriend also loves your long hair."

"Well, sorry to disappoint you, but I don't have any boyfriend," said Kanna, her tone serious and a bit firm.

Haruto's face lit up with a mix of happiness and surprise, though he quickly composed himself, "Ooh, i'm sorry, if it bothered you" he said.

"No, it's fine," Kanna replied, "How was your day?" she asked casually.

"It was a bit rough," Haruto said.

"Really, why is that?" Kanna asked with a concerning tone.

"Ummm, You know, In business, Things don't always go as you want," Haruto explained.

"Hmmm," Kanna replied thoughtfully then added "I guess we both should work hard and push ourselves to achieve the life we've always dreamed of."

Haruto's eyes widened in disbelief, his jaw dropping as he quickly muttered, "huhh?" He was visibly stunned and speechless.

Suddenly, the sound of the door opening came from Kanna's end. In a hushed tone Kanna said, "Alright, my grandma is here, I'll talk to you later." With that, she ended the call.

Haruto remained stunned, his eyes wide and his jaw dropped in disbelief, taking a deep sigh, he collapsed backwards onto his bed, staring blankly at the ceiling...
