Kapitel 42: The Angry Alpha

The next morning, after sending Hope off to school in Mystic Falls, Laura sat on the couch, deep in thought.

Her mind was still replaying the events of the previous night—her encounter with Victor, the man who claimed to be Logan's brother. She had a gnawing feeling that this was far from over.

Soon, Hank and Benjamin arrived at her house, both looking curious and concerned after receiving her message. Selene, occupied with business matters, had informed Laura she'd arrive later, but for now, the two men sat with Laura, eager to hear what had happened.

Hank, always sharp, was the first to speak. "So, what's this about, Laura? You sounded urgent in your message."

Laura took a breath before launching into the story. "Last night, I had an... encounter. With someone who claims to be Logan's brother. His name is Victor."

Hank's brow furrowed, and Benjamin raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued.

"Logan's brother?" Hank repeated. "I've never heard of him having any siblings. What happened?"

Laura began to recount the details of the fight. "He appeared out of nowhere while I was out with Hope. He threatened to kill me and abduct Hope, saying it would draw Logan to him. He called Logan 'Jimmy.'" Laura's voice hardened at the memory.

"Jimmy?" Benjamin asked, confused. "Isn't it the old nickname of Logan, Why would he call him that?"

"Yes, it's an old nickname Logan had," Laura replied with a shrug. "But that's not important right now. The guy was fast and strong—almost as strong as me. I managed to punch him across a building, but that barely slowed him down. His clothes were magically enhanced; they didn't take any damage from my attacks."

Hank nodded thoughtfully. "Magical enhancements... that's serious. Did you finish him off?"

"No," Laura admitted, a frown on her face. "Hope used her powers to blast him into the sky—probably a lot further than I expected, but I doubt he's dead."

Both Hank and Benjamin were visibly shocked by this revelation. "Hope did that? At her age?" Benjamin asked, surprised. "I knew she had potential, but..."

"Yeah," Laura replied, her voice filled with pride and concern. "She's stronger than we thought. But even with that, I don't think Victor is gone for good. If he really is Logan's brother, I doubt a simple blast would kill him."

"Why didn't you finish him yourself?" Hank asked, puzzled. Laura was known for being thorough when it came to enemies.

Laura sighed, her eyes narrowing as she thought back to the encounter. "Because of those magical clothes. They didn't take any damage, and someone might be with him, if he wasn't alone I couldn't risk fighting an unknown enemy with Hope by my side. It was too dangerous."

Hank nodded in understanding. "That makes sense. You were protecting Hope. But if Victor is really that dangerous, we need to learn more about him. Did Logan mention anything about him before?"

"No," Laura replied, frustration clear in her voice. "Logan hasn't said a word about him. That's what worries me."

Benjamin leaned forward, his face serious. "If Logan's not talking about his family, there must be a reason. But we can't afford to be caught off guard by Victor or anyone else working with him."

"Exactly," Laura agreed. "That's why I called you both here. We need to dig deeper into Victor and any other potential threats."

Hank stood, already thinking ahead. "I'll go to the lab and see if I can pull anything on Victor. Since he might be similar to Logan in the past, I can make some drugs to slow him down. We don't know how deep his connections go, but if he's after Logan or Hope, we need every advantage we can get."

Benjamin nodded. "I'll talk to Emily. We can send out some of our Betas to investigate—quietly. We don't want to alert Victor or anyone else that we're onto them, but they should know we're coming for them, but we need more information."

"Good," Laura said, feeling a bit more reassured. "We need to stay ahead of whatever this is."

As Hank and Benjamin got ready to leave, Hank paused at the door. "Laura, whatever happens, we'll protect Hope. We'll get to the bottom of this."

Laura nodded, watching them go. Once the door closed, she turned to the window, her mind still racing. Victor's sudden appearance and his connection to Logan raised too many questions. Why hadn't Logan mentioned him? What did he really want?

Later that evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon and cast long shadows across the room, Selene arrived at Laura's house. She had finished her business matters and was finally able to turn her attention to the concerning situation Laura had informed her about.

Selene greeted Laura with a warm smile as she sat down, but there was a glimmer of seriousness in her eyes. "I heard about your encounter last night, Laura. It sounds like we have a bigger problem than we anticipated."

Laura nodded, her expression grave. "Victor—Logan's supposed brother—showed up out of nowhere. He threatened to kill me and take Hope. He's dangerous, Selene. And he's not working alone."

Selene's expression darkened. "If he's a threat to Logan, Hope, or any of us, we need to find out who's pulling the strings behind this. No one crosses our pack without facing consequences."

Laura leaned back in her chair, grateful for Selene's confidence. "That's what Hank and Ben are working on now. They're looking into his background, trying to gather more information. But something about this doesn't sit right with me. Why didn't Logan ever mention having a brother?"

Selene gave a knowing smile. "Logan has lived for a long time. He's been through a lot, and there are bound to be parts of his past he keeps buried for good reason. But we'll get to the bottom of it, one way or another."

Laura nodded but couldn't shake the unease growing in her chest. "I don't know what Victor's planning, but it can't be good."

Selene placed a reassuring hand on Laura's shoulder. "Don't worry. I'll use every resource at my disposal to track him down—and anyone else involved. I have connections that go far beyond this realm. I'll find whoever's behind this."

For a brief moment, Laura allowed herself to feel reassured. If anyone could uncover hidden threats, it was Selene.

As the conversation shifted, Selene's eyes brightened when Laura mentioned Hope's display of power. "So, Hope has been tapping into her abilities?" Selene asked, her smile growing.

Laura smiled too, her pride evident. "She's stronger than we expected. She was able to blast Victor into the sky with a single thought. She's still so young, but her potential... it's incredible."

Selene chuckled, clearly impressed. "Good. It's about time she started using her powers. She'll be a force to reckon with when she's older. I can already see it."

"Yeah," Laura agreed, though a hint of concern crept into her voice. "But she's still a child. I want to protect her, keep her safe. I don't want her to have to deal with threats like Victor so soon."

Selene nodded in understanding. "You're doing the right thing, Laura. But as much as we want to shield her, Hope's powers are a part of her. She'll need to learn how to control them, how to use them when the time comes."

Laura sighed, leaning back in her chair. "I know. But sometimes I wish she could just be a normal kid."

Selene smiled softly. "She's far from normal, and that's a good thing. She has greatness within her, just like her father—and her mother."

With that, the two women sat in companionable silence for a moment, the weight of recent events pressing down on them both. But there was also a quiet understanding between them—whatever challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, just as they always had.

--------------------------------

**A few months later**

A few months had passed since Victor's initial attack, and things had only grown more dangerous.

Hank had developed a drug that temporarily slowed down Victor's werewolf abilities and healing factor, but it wasn't enough.

Victor had become stronger and more lethal, managing to take down several pack members, even wounding both Hank and Benjamin in a confrontation.

Despite Selene's attempts to track him, Victor always slipped away at the last moment, aided by unknown forces that enhanced him with various mutant powers.

It had become clear that Victor was more than just a physical threat—he had magical support, making him even harder to defeat.

Selene was currently off investigating the magical connection, trying to find the source of the powers helping Victor.

Meanwhile, Laura was growing frustrated. The losses were mounting, and Victor had already killed several Betas of the pack. She needed Logan to return. He was their strongest asset, and she couldn't wait any longer for him to finish his time with Jean.

As Laura prepared to open a portal into the mirror dimension to fetch Logan, the air shimmered, and Logan and Jean suddenly appeared out of nowhere—completely naked. Laura's eyes blazed with fury.

Without thinking, she swung a punch at Logan on his cheek. It send shock waves around the room.

Though it didn't hurt him much, it caught him off guard. Logan blinked in confusion. "What the hell, Laura? What happened?"

Jean quickly placed a hand on Laura's shoulder. "Calm down, Laura. What's going on? Why are you so upset?"

Laura's anger exploded. "What's going on?! Victor has been wreaking havoc for months! He's killed Betas, injured Hank and Ben, and now he's stronger than ever. He's being helped by some kind of magic entities. And you two have been too busy having fun to even notice!"

Logan's eyes widened in shock. "What? All of this happened while we were in the mirror dimension?"

Laura crossed her arms, seething. "Yes, while you were off playing games with Jean, the pack has been fighting for its life!"

Jean's expression grew serious as she turned to Logan. "I'm sorry Laura. We had no idea…"

Logan frowned deeply, his mind now racing. "I went into the mirror dimension to have some time with Jean, not expecting the world to turn upside down while we were gone. But why didn't you come to us."

Laura's glare softened, but only slightly. "We thought we can handle him, but I was wrong. I was just about to call you, but you appeared. Victor is out there, Logan, and he's worse than ever. We need you."

Logan's face darkened at the mention of Victor. He hadn't regained any memories of his past, but he had felt something familiar about the name when Laura first mentioned it.

If his past life memory is correct, then he had an idea about who this Victor is.

He didn't remember anything about his family before meeting Hank, and he always thought that his entire body was transported to this world, but apparently that's not it.

All he remembered was waking up in the woods with no recollection of the past life of this body, only that he could control his powers and survive.

Logan let out a slow breath, "I don't remember much about my past—when I woke up, everything was a blank slate. All I had were my abilities and instincts. Victor... If he's really my brother, then I'll put him down Laura."

Jean, now wrapped herself with a cloth, sat beside Logan, her hand resting on his arm. "We can figure that out later. Right now, Victor is a threat, and we need to take care of him."

Laura softened her tone, realizing she had let her frustration get the better of her. "I'm sorry for hitting you, Logan. I didn't know you had lost your memories. I just thought you didn't care…"

Logan stood and wrapped his arms around Laura, pulling her into a tight hug. "I care. I just didn't know. But I'm here now, and I promise I'll deal with Victor once and for all."

Laura nodded, her head resting against Logan's chest. "I know you will."

Jean cleared her throat with a playful smirk. "What about me? Don't I get a hug too?"

Logan chuckled and pulled Jean into the embrace, holding both women close to him. For a moment, everything felt right—until Logan's eyes shifted, glowing a deep, blood-red.

The Alpha inside him had awakened, and it was filled with fury. He had let his guard down, thinking that his time with Jean would give him peace. But Victor had crossed a line, attacking his pack, his family.

The bloodlust in Logan's eyes was unmistakable. "Victor will regret ever threatening my pack. He's out for blood, but so am I."

Jean and Laura both stepped back as they saw the intensity in Logan's eyes. They knew that look. It was the Alpha on the hunt. And this time, Logan wouldn't stop until Victor was dealt with for good.

----------------------------------

Few minutes later, Logan and Jean, now fully dressed and ready to head out, were stopped as Peggy rushed into the house, looking frantic.

"Thank God you're back, Logan!" Peggy exclaimed, breathless.

Logan raised an eyebrow, concerned. "Calm down, Peggy. What happened?"

"It's Tony," she said, her voice shaking. "He's been kidnapped. I know the pack is busy with the threat of Victor, but can you please send someone to find Tony? Steve's working with S.H.I.E.L.D., but nothing's working."

Logan paused for a moment, He turned to Laura. "What year is it?"

Laura tilted her head, confused by the odd question. "It's 2008."

Logan's eyes widened as everything clicked into place. The beginning of the MCU. The real plot starts now.

A smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth as he turned back to Peggy. "Don't worry, Peggy. You can take as many members of the pack as you want. We'll find Tony."

Peggy sighed in relief, but Jean interrupted. "What about Victor?"

Logan's smirk deepened. "I'm enough for him."

Just then, Laura's phone rang. She answered it, her expression shifting to one of seriousness. "We've got Victor's location. He's in a pub."

Logan didn't waste a second. Before anyone could react, he vanished from his spot.

He reappeared beside Emily, who was keeping an eye on Victor from few miles. She smiled, relieved to see him. "Logan, good timing."

"Take me to him," Logan ordered.

Emily opened a portal without hesitation, and Logan stepped through. He found himself just outside the pub where Victor had been spotted. The atmosphere inside was tense, the kind of silence that happens just before something goes very wrong.

Inside the pub, Victor sat lazily at the bar, carving into the wood with his metal claws, creating deep, jagged lines.

The bartender, sensing the danger, cautiously approached him. "You new here?"

Before Victor could answer, Logan's voice boomed from outside the bar. "Victor!"

Victor smirked, clearly unfazed. He turned to the bartender with a casual grin. "You got insurance for this place?"

The bartender blinked, confused. "Uh, no... I applied for it, but it's still being processed."

Victor shrugged. "Too bad."

Logan stormed into the bar, eyes glowing red with fury.

As soon as he stepped inside, he took in the sight of Victor—no longer a mystery, but Sabretooth, the same brutal force from the X-Men movies.

Patrons of the bar froze, watching the two men with growing dread. The bartender stepped back, raising his hands. "Guys, whatever this is, take it outside."

Victor laughed darkly as he extended his metal claws, their metallic sheen catching the dim light. "Nah, let's give 'em a show."

Realization dawned on the onlookers. They were watching mutants—dangerous ones. Panic spread quickly, and soon everyone scrambled for the exits, leaving Logan and Victor alone in the pub.

"Why, Victor"

Victor grinned, his eyes gleaming with malicious intent. "Why what, Jimmy? Why am I after you?" He chuckled, stepping closer, his claws gleaming menacingly. "Does it really matter? Let's finish this."

Logan's eyes glowed brighter as he braced himself, ready for the fight.

The Alpha in him stirred with anger, his instincts screaming for blood. "So, be it."
