His uncle frowned. "You mean the woman who told the false vision against you?"

As Daemon expected, his uncle didn't look to be that interested in the fact that he had just revealed that he found his second chance at a mate in the most unusual of persons. They were both alike in the same manner that they never bothered to think deeply as to the workings of such things.

"The very same."

"Why is she useful to the Matriarchy Pack?"

"The why is not useful to me as the reality that she is indeed useful to them."

His uncle frowned harder if that were possible, the harsh lines of his already gaunt face standing in stark contrast to the marble-like quality the rest of his skin possessed. "That is unlike you. Normally you're interested in the why of the matter."
