Let's leave aside the situation between Konan and Nagato for now.
This morning, Uchiha Akira woke up, ready to start another life simulation.
Yesterday, the Hidden Mist Village had sent over another twenty million ryō, so it was time for a new round of simulations!
However, before Akira could even begin, he heard an urgent shout from outside his room: "Brother-in-law, Brother-in-law! Are you up yet?"
"Hm? Is that Hanabi?" Akira thought, recognizing the voice.
The only person who would call him "brother-in-law" was Hanabi, Hinata's younger sister.
Before Akira could respond, the door suddenly swung open with a bang. Hanabi rushed in, her expression filled with urgency.
"Ah!" She gasped as she stepped into the room, immediately covering her eyes with her hands. "Brother-in-law! Why are you not wearing a shirt when you sleep?"
"I'm a man. It's not that strange to sleep without a shirt, right? It's not like I'm not wearing anything else," Akira thought to himself.
Looking at Hanabi, who still had her hands over her eyes, Akira couldn't help but chuckle. "Alright, Hanabi, you can stop covering your eyes. Your clan's Byakugan has a 360-degree field of vision. Whether you turn around or cover your eyes, it's the same."
"It's not the same at all! When we use our Byakugan, everything appears in black and white. It's not nearly as vivid!" Hanabi hurriedly explained, defending herself.
Akira laughed at her response. "Oh, I see. So, do you often use your Byakugan to 'look' at people?"
"Brother-in-law! You—!" Hanabi, only thirteen years old, was completely embarrassed by Akira's teasing. Her face turned bright red.
"Hahaha!" Akira couldn't help but laugh at her reaction. She really was just like her sister, Hinata—a shy girl.
Of course, it was normal for a girl her age to feel shy after being teased like this. Unlike older women in their 20s or 30s, whose conversations could make even men blush, or women in their 40s and 50s who could shamelessly take over any conversation, these teenage girls were still easily embarrassed by a few teasing remarks.
"Alright, Hanabi, why are you here in such a rush? Is something wrong?" Akira asked, shifting the conversation back to the matter at hand.
Hearing Akira's question, Hanabi suddenly remembered the reason for her visit. "Brother-in-law, you need to come quickly! Something's wrong with my sister—it's her…"
Before Hanabi could finish, Akira's expression turned serious. Without waiting for an explanation, he vanished from her sight in an instant, moving as fast as lightning.
Using the Body Flicker Technique, Akira's speed was unmatched. Although the Hidden Leaf Village was large, it didn't take long for Akira to reach the Hyuga household.
"Akira, you're here!" greeted Hiashi, Hinata's father, as Akira arrived.
"I heard something's wrong with Hinata? Is her old injury acting up?" Akira asked, his voice filled with concern.
"No, it's her eyes," Hiashi replied, shaking his head.
Without wasting any time, Akira rushed to Hinata's room, where she lay on the bed, seemingly unconscious, her face flushed red with fever.
Akira placed his hand on her forehead. Her body was burning up. The temperature was so high that Akira couldn't help but worry. "At this rate, she'll fry her brain!"
"Akira… is that you?" Hinata's voice was weak, but she stirred at his touch, opening her eyes slightly to look at him.
Akira looked into Hinata's eyes and was shocked to see that her eyes had turned a brilliant blue—the telltale sign of the Tenseigan!
"Hinata, why are your eyes in the Tenseigan state?" Akira asked in surprise.
The Tenseigan wasn't supposed to be activated unless one's chakra level had reached the Kage level. But Hinata's chakra level was only around six to seven thousand, still a ways off from the point where she should be able to maintain the Tenseigan continuously.
Yet here she was, with her Tenseigan permanently active.
Had her chakra level suddenly skyrocketed overnight? Even Akira's life simulator didn't make such rapid progress so easily.
"I've been trying to help you, Akira. I didn't want to keep being a burden, so I've been working on maintaining the Tenseigan…" Hinata said weakly. "I managed to activate it, but… my body isn't reacting well."
"I'm sorry, Akira. I've worried you again," Hinata's voice was soft and full of regret, clearly pained by the fact that she was causing Akira concern.
Akira felt a mix of emotions—frustration, sympathy, and even admiration. Hinata was always worried about being a burden, so much so that she had pushed herself beyond her limits to help him.
Her situation reminded Akira of the natural defense mechanisms of the body. Just like Kakashi, who had the Mangekyō Sharingan but only used the standard three-tomoe form because of his limited chakra, Hinata had already evolved her Byakugan into the Tenseigan, but her chakra wasn't enough to sustain it in everyday life.
But Hinata, determined to become stronger, had forced her body to keep the Tenseigan active despite the toll it was taking on her.
Akira reached out and gently patted Hinata's head, then placed his hand on her forehead again. This time, he wasn't just checking her temperature. He was using his chakra to examine her condition.
Although Akira wasn't a medical ninja, he had a deep understanding of the human body due to his high level of training.
By injecting his chakra into Hinata, Akira quickly discovered the problem. Her eyes had indeed fully transformed into the Tenseigan, but her chakra reserves were insufficient to maintain them. As a result, her body was burning through her chakra reserves at an alarming rate, like a constant drain on her energy.
In response, her body's defense mechanisms had kicked in, activating the cells that had been transplanted into her during a past treatment—cells from both Sasuke and Naruto. These cells, derived from the reincarnations of Indra and Asura, had been used by Orochimaru to help save her life, but now they were reacting to her forced chakra usage.
"In short, her body is in a tug-of-war," Akira thought. "On one side, the Tenseigan is constantly draining her chakra. On the other, her body is desperately trying to keep up."
"Sigh… Pushing yourself to use powers beyond your limits is never a good idea," Akira thought with a heavy heart.
Hinata's condition wasn't life-threatening, but it wasn't good either.
A short while later, Tsunade, the village's top medical ninja, arrived at the Hyuga residence.
"Tsunade-sama!" Hiashi greeted her respectfully.
Tsunade, the granddaughter of the First Hokage and one of the most skilled medical ninjas, deserved such respect.
"I'll take a look at Hinata's condition first," Tsunade said, nodding to Hiashi before heading into the room where Hinata lay.
Akira quickly moved aside to give Tsunade space. Some things were best left to the professionals.
After a thorough examination, Tsunade let out a long sigh.
"Tsunade-sama, you sighed just now. Does that mean the situation is serious?" Akira asked, showing his respect for the medical expert.
It's always a good idea to be polite to the person in charge of your loved one's health, after all.
"I sighed not because of Hinata's condition, but because of how reckless she's been with her own body. To force her eyes to evolve like this—it's no wonder she's in such bad shape!" Tsunade glanced at Akira as she spoke.
Tsunade could easily guess why Hinata had pushed herself so hard, and it didn't take a genius to figure out that her motivation was linked to Akira.
Akira understood Tsunade's meaning immediately.
"So that's why her body is in this state," Akira mused. "But every cloud has a silver lining."
"Yes, it's bad that her body's in trouble, but from another perspective, there's a positive side to all of this!"

Everything in life has two sides, just like light always casts a shadow. It's a natural balance.
Right now, Hinata's body was in trouble due to the strain of forcefully awakening the Tenseigan. This was undoubtedly a bad thing.
But could there also be a good side to it?
Akira, hearing this, looked at Tsunade, curious to know what the good side might be.
"Her Byakugan has already evolved into what I've heard called the Tenseigan," Tsunade explained. "As long as her body can hold out through this period and adapt to the Tenseigan's chakra consumption, she will officially step into the realm of Kage-level chakra reserves."
"Not only that, but as her chakra increases, the full power of the Tenseigan will gradually be unlocked."
Tsunade's words were clear and precise, laying out the situation for Akira.
"I see, that makes sense," Akira nodded thoughtfully in response.
"Hinata's courage is truly admirable!" At this moment, a hoarse but charismatic voice spoke up—it was Orochimaru!
Back when Hinata's body was restored, it was the combined efforts of both Orochimaru and Tsunade that had made it possible. So when news spread of Hinata's condition, it wasn't just Akira and Tsunade who were informed—Orochimaru had been notified as well. He arrived just in time to hear Tsunade's explanation.
As Orochimaru entered, his eyes fell on Hinata, a flicker of admiration in them. "I once heard about a certain kind of eagle. When they are young, their parents break the bones of their wings and push them off a cliff."
"Only those that survive by instinctively learning to fly become the true rulers of the skies. And those that fail? Well, they simply perish."
"Hinata's courage reminds me of that eagle," Orochimaru said with a hint of respect in his voice.
Knowing that Hinata had forced her Byakugan to evolve into the Tenseigan through sheer willpower earned her a new level of respect from Orochimaru. Such bravery wasn't something just anyone could muster.
Originally, Orochimaru had thought Hinata was merely lucky to have caught Akira's eye. She had always seemed too kind-hearted and gentle, hardly resembling a true ninja.
But today, Orochimaru's view of Hinata had changed dramatically.
"Well, well… It seems Akira really does have an eye for people," Orochimaru mused internally. "He saw something in her that none of us did."
"Hmm. Why don't you take a look and tell me when she'll recover?" Akira said, gesturing toward Hinata.
Hinata's body, having undergone treatment that included cells from both Sasuke and Naruto, had been most thoroughly studied by Orochimaru.
"Of course, Akira," Orochimaru responded respectfully, nodding his head before approaching Hinata to examine her more closely.
"Wow, he's so respectful towards you," Tsunade said, raising an eyebrow. "I've never seen him act like this before."
"It's probably a case of dragon overpowering snake—an instinctual submission from deep within his genes. It has nothing to do with strength, but rather a difference in life forms," Akira explained calmly.
"That does make sense," Tsunade agreed with a nod.
In a way, both Orochimaru and Akira were no longer purely human. Orochimaru had become more like a serpent, while Akira had taken on the form of a divine dragon. And in nature, a dragon's bloodline would always suppress a snake's—there was no doubt about that.
As Akira and Tsunade casually discussed Orochimaru and various other topics, including Wood Release, Akira openly shared some of his insights. He explained that both Danzo and Orochimaru had once experimented with the First Hokage's cells in an attempt to harness the power of Wood Release. Akira's own Wood Release abilities stemmed from those same cells.
"So in the end, you're just borrowing the power of my grandfather's cells and didn't actually awaken Wood Release on your own, huh?" Tsunade remarked without any hint of displeasure.
To her, they were just cells.
More importantly, Akira had used the power of Wood Release to protect the village from many dangers, ensuring Konoha's safety. If her grandfather, the First Hokage, were still alive, Tsunade was sure he'd be proud that his power continued to protect Konoha even after his death.
"Akira…" Orochimaru spoke up after a thorough examination of Hinata's condition.
Akira and Tsunade stopped their conversation, turning their attention to him.
"The bad news is that Hinata will likely have to remain bedridden for the next two months," Orochimaru began. "However, the good news is that her bloodline has become more active. Her chakra levels are increasing rapidly."
"In about two months, she should have enough chakra to sustain the Tenseigan's demands."
Orochimaru's diagnosis was clear and concise, and Akira nodded in relief.
"Good, that's a relief…"
Akira had already known that Hinata's life wasn't in danger, but he hadn't been sure how long it would take for her to recover. It was like having a fever—usually not life-threatening, but you never knew exactly when you'd feel better.
Orochimaru had provided the clarity Akira needed, confirming not only the timeframe for recovery but also that Hinata's chakra levels would increase significantly as her bloodline continued to develop.
With the Indra and Asura bloodlines activating within her, combined with the strength of the Hyuga clan's Byakugan, Hinata's chakra growth would be extraordinary.
This meant Hinata's overall strength would greatly improve, which delighted Akira.
If Hinata could grow strong enough to protect herself, that was all Akira truly wanted. He didn't care whether she could fully master the immense powers of the Tenseigan, like the powerful Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion technique. After all, such techniques required a tremendous amount of chakra to perform.
"Hinata, did you hear that? There's nothing seriously wrong. Just rest up for two months, and you'll be fine," Akira reassured her gently.
"I'll do my best… I will become stronger," Hinata replied softly, almost as if making a vow.
Akira almost told her it wasn't necessary, that all he wanted was for her to take care of herself. But seeing the determination in her eyes, he knew it would be pointless to say anything more.
Instead, he turned to Hiashi and said, "Hiashi-sama, I'll leave Hinata's care in your hands for the time being."
"What are you talking about? She's my daughter—taking care of her is my duty! There's no need for you to ask me for such a thing!" Hiashi replied, his eyes narrowing with slight annoyance.
"Well, she's going to become part of the Uchiha family soon enough, so I'm asking you to take care of her until then!" Akira teased, a small grin on his face.
"She's not part of your Uchiha clan yet!" Hiashi snapped, visibly irritated by Akira's casual remark.
Even though Hiashi had once hoped to rush the relationship between Hinata and Akira, Akira's teasing now was getting on his nerves, especially with others around to hear.
Tsunade and Orochimaru, watching the interaction between Akira and Hiashi, exchanged amused glances.
"Hiashi-sama, Akira, it seems the two of you get along quite well," Tsunade remarked with a smile.
"You're mistaken! Not at all!" Both men said at the same time, causing Tsunade and Orochimaru to chuckle softly.
Seeing that the two men had had enough of their playful banter, Tsunade and Orochimaru took their leave.
"Take good care of yourself, Hinata. I'll come check on you again soon," Akira said softly before departing.
After leaving the Hyuga household, Akira couldn't help but reflect on everything that had just happened. Hinata's situation, while alarming at first, had actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Perhaps her frustration with being unable to help had driven her to push herself this far. But Akira was grateful. "To have a woman like her by my side… what more could I ask for?" he thought, his heart filled with appreciation.
When he returned home, he found Keiko busy with something. But she didn't look as cheerful as usual.
"Keiko, what's wrong? You've been in such good spirits lately," Akira asked curiously.
"Well, Akira-sama, Konan… she's returned," Keiko said, glancing at him with a hint of concern.
