Kapitel 45: Chapter 44: Schrödinger's Storyline - Where Exactly Will the Next Battle Take Us?

"Where will our next destination be?"

As they prepared for the upcoming journey within the game, Stelle couldn't help but ask.

Pom-Pom's eyes widened fiercely, her demeanor determined.

"No matter where it leads, we cannot follow the game's storyline!"

"We absolutely won't let it dictate our path!"

"If it goes there, we'll deliberately go elsewhere!"

Old Yang remained relatively calm.

Analyzing the situation, Stelle remarked, "Based on the game's content so far, the next destination is likely to be Xianzhou Luofu."

"This is because several controllable characters introduced thus far originate from Luofu."

Upon hearing "Xianzhou Luofu," Dan Heng's expression subtly shifted, but he didn't elaborate further. His gaze seemed as deep and vast as the stars outside the train window.

"That's fantastic! Our original destination wasn't Xianzhou Luofu anyway, right, Ji Zi?" March 7th exclaimed enthusiastically.

Her excitement stemmed from having just made a bet during the live stream. Although no one believed she was truly March 7th, nor did anyone take her up on the wager...

Himeko, however, remained less optimistic. She said, "Let's continue watching. I won't offer any opinions until the plot direction is confirmed."

Soon enough, it was time for the train's Leap transition.

Everyone's focus intensified, their anticipation at its peak!

They needed to determine where the game's storyline would lead:

Would it head towards Xianzhou Luofu, which had been heavily foreshadowed?

Or would it reveal the true, undisclosed destination yet unannounced by the Astral Express Crew?

This felt somewhat akin to observing Schrödinger's cat.

Himeko refrained from making any statements, fearing her decisions might influence the game's storyline. The best approach was to do nothing—simply observe how the plot unfolds!

Pom-Pom's voice echoed, "Apologies for the wait, passengers! Thanks to the exceptional efforts of our three Trailblazers, the rift's activity has been minimized, and all stellar rail readings have returned to normal levels!"

"The train is about to resume its journey, departing Jarilo-VI. Please sit back securely and give one final farewell to this planet!"

Just as everyone on the Astral Express eagerly awaited the announcement of their next destination...

As expected, a surprise occurred!

The screen went dark.

A line of text appeared at the center:

[Luofu Immortal Ferry - The Shackling Prison]

"Tick... Tick... Tick..."

In the dimly lit corridor, everything was shrouded in a dense fog-like haze.

A solitary figure walked amidst this eerie atmosphere.

Upon closer inspection:

Behind the man, two soldiers armed with long swords escorted him closely.

His hands were securely bound.

Step by step, he approached the end of the corridor.

At its terminus stood two individuals.

Within this gloomy prison, they resembled judges awaiting to pass sentence on a sinner.

On the left, a youth sat on a bench, his eyes slightly closed.

On the right, a man clad in light battle armor bore a golden lion emblem embedded at his shoulder. With hands clasped behind his back and standing poised, he held his breath.

Witnessing this scene, the Live Streaming Room erupted instantly!

"Holy shit, what am I seeing? It's our main War God, Yanqing!"

"Luofu! It truly is Xianzhou Luofu!"

"What's going on?! How did the perspective suddenly shift to Xianzhou Luofu's prison?"

"The one on the left is Yanqing, so the standing figure must be..."

"The Closed-Eyed General! No... Divine Strategy General—Jing Yuan!"

"JING YUANNN!! (Already insane)"

"Fucking hell! This is insane!"

As the prisoner approached step by step, Divine Strategy General Jing Yuan spoke up, "Yanqing, pay close attention to this person once he's near."

At that moment, the prisoner had been escorted right below the platform.

Jing Yuan asked solemnly, "Do you remember me?"

"Yes," replied the man, despite being captive, a peculiar smile flickered across his face.

After answering, he abruptly continued on his own, "There were five individuals, with three as the price..."

Both Yanqing and Jing Yuan were startled.

Yanqing's hand instinctively rested on the hilt of his sword at his waist.

The words from the man's mouth seemed like a dreadful curse.

"Jing Yuan, you're not among them."

In the next instant,

as if a candle blown out by the wind, the man's face turned deathly pale. The flickering candlelight reflected in his eyes, fixed intently forward.

He raised a battered sword, pointing it directly at Jing Yuan.

"You, are one of them!"

"Woosh!"

The scene shifted abruptly.

Dan Heng was now lying in bed, drenched in cold sweat!

Appearing trapped in a nightmare, he gritted his teeth, chest heaving violently.

Just as the voice faded, Dan Heng jolted awake from the bed.

"Pant... Pant..." He gasped heavily for breath, pupils dilated.

Within the carriage, everyone simultaneously turned towards Dan Heng without hesitation.

The upcoming event involved him directly!

Meanwhile, Dan Heng looked equally astonished and bewildered.

Cold sweat beaded on his forehead as well; he never anticipated witnessing such nightmare-inducing scenes within the game!

His panicked demeanor mirrored that of his character's.

"How is this possible..." Dan Heng murmured incredulously, his breath quickening.

Himeko handed him a cup of coffee and offered comfort, "Relax, Dan Heng. We're all here with you. No one will harm you."

"No, it's just..."

Dan Heng took a sip of the coffee, nearly choking to the point of tears.

Old Yang, ever considerate, sympathetically patted him on the back with a concerned expression.

March 7th whispered to Stelle, "This is the first time I've seen Dan Heng like this."

"The man who appeared in that vision... must be his nemesis, right?"

"Who do you think that guy is? Even Dan Heng was terrified out of his wits..."

Stelle shook her head and replied, "I don't know either, but there's one thing I'm certain about...

"As long as we keep watching, we'll undoubtedly learn his identity."

"And he might turn out to be a boss, just like Cocolia!"

"When that happens, we need to ensure our characters' levels and gear are top-notch so we can help Dan Heng defeat this enemy and conquer his inner demons!"

Kapitel 46: Chapter 45: Chief Astrologer, Disaster Strikes!

The Divination Commission.

Qingque had been avidly watching Little Gui's stream, not missing a single moment from the space station to Jarilo-VI. She found this game incredibly engaging—it even made her rice more enjoyable, enough for two bowls full! It was safe to say she had become completely absorbed in it.

In fact, she hadn't played mahjong for nearly two whole days!

But now, the plot suddenly shifted towards Xianzhou "Luofu"!

Not only did Yanqing appear, but General Jing Yuan as well!

Before, she could enjoy it like a captivating fantasy drama because the events unfolding had little direct connection to herself or Luofu. No matter how significant the chaos stirred up by the Astral Express and Stellaron Hunters elsewhere, it merely provided entertainment for her.

However, now...

The excitement has landed right on my doorstep!

She couldn't remain composed anymore.

"It seems the upcoming storyline will unfold on the Rufou Immortal Ship!"

"What happened to that person claiming to be March 7th? When are you going to send me those ten train supply vouchers as promised?"

"Wait, hold on! Why is everyone still so calm? This plot involves the Rufou Immortal Ship; Little Gui Zi might get shut down any moment now!"

"Nah, it won't come to that."

"How can you say that?! Do you know who appeared in that scene just now? It's Blade, a Stellaron Hunter! There's an 8.13 billion bounty on him from the company!"

"Luo-fu is in danger! Quickly notify the Divination Commission and the General!"

"Increase surveillance at The Shackling Prison!"

Reading these comments, Qingque's heart began to race, sensing impending doom looming over them.

According to whispers, every plot point in the game thus far had mirrored reality. Was it now starting to predict future events?!

Moreover, any scenario involving the main storyline invariably signaled significant occurrences, akin to the Grim Reaper calling out names for his reaping. And this time, Luofu Immortal Ship was next on the list!

"Oh no! Our peaceful days are coming to an end!"

Qingque's immediate thought was to urgently report this to Chief Astrologer Fu Xuan, hoping to avoid any blame should disaster strike later. As long as they informed him, regardless of what calamity befell, Fu Xuan would bear the responsibility.

With that urgency in mind, Qingque didn't even bother wiping their mouth and rushed straight to Fu Xuan's office within the Divination Commission.

"Chief Astrologer, something grave has happened!" they exclaimed breathlessly.

Inside the Divination Commission, Fu Xuan's lips twitched slightly as he looked at the flustered figure outside his door. In a stern voice, he said, "Qingque! As diviners, we must always maintain composure and strategic planning, embodying poise and restraint. Your panicked shouting can be heard throughout the commission—what decorum is this?"

"I wouldn't act like this unless it were truly urgent," Qingque explained hastily.

"What is it? Tell me."

Five minutes later.

Wiping sweat from their forehead, Qingque recounted everything they knew about the game Honkai: Star Rail without holding back, unsure if the Chief Astrologer fully grasped the situation.

Fu Xuan closed his eyes without speaking, seemingly deep in thought.

After a few seconds, he finally said, "This game... can actually predict the future?"

"Ridiculous and laughable!"

"You were up all night playing cards again, weren't you? Still not fully awake?"

"Chief Astrologer, I'm being wrongfully accused! It's been two whole days since I last touched any cards! Instead, I've been continuously... well, no, I've been constantly observing this game's content!" Qingque looked deeply aggrieved.

"Every word your subordinate says is true, Chief Astrologer," she insisted. "I'll show you this video!"

Qingque was about to search for "[Five Named Individuals]" on the Honkai Star Rail forum when she suddenly froze. Her phone dropped with a loud thud onto the floor.

"What happened?"

Qingque hastily picked up her phone and blew gently on it.

"Chief Astrologer, this developer 'Feathered Spirit' just posted another video moments ago!"

"It's a short film titled 'Flying Light'!"

Fu Xuan took the phone from her.

The thumbnail of the video featured General Jing Yuan himself.

His eyes blazing fiercely, as if caught mid-battle against a formidable enemy.

"So what? Countless products in Luofu exploit the General's popularity for promotion. This morning, I even drank a cup of hot Luofu milk 'strongly recommended by General Jing Yuan.'"

"My lord, perhaps you should give it a watch?"

"All right, let's see then."

Although Qingque hadn't watched the video herself, she had unwavering faith in its developer. When it came to delivering surprises, "Feathered Spirit" never disappointed.

Expect only top-tier content!

"Huff...huff..."

A strong gust of wind could be heard from the video.

The scene revealed a landscape of shattered ruins floating in mid-air, surrounded by broken stone fragments. In the background, eerie blue-purple light flickered alongside flashes of sword beams.

Below, a multitude of Cloud Knights sprawled across the ground!

However, these Cloud Knights had all transformed into white ice sculptures, frozen in various poses on this battlefield.

Fu Xuan's gaze slightly darkened.

Then, he saw Jing Yuan steadily approaching amidst the chaos.

Only now did Fu Xuan notice that the Jing Yuan in the video appeared younger than his current self, exuding the vigor and sharpness characteristic of youth—far removed from his present demeanor as an old slacker.

On the other side of the battlefield, standing amidst the wreckage, was a woman.

She held a longsword emitting a cold gleam, her white hair flowing freely. Yet, surprisingly, there was not the slightest aura of a martial warrior about her!

Her eyes were crimson like blood, and the upward curve at the corners of her lips conveyed a dangerous and frenzied madness.

A hint of astonishment flashed in Fu Xuan's eyes, and he blurted out, "This person is... Jingliu?!"

Beside him, Qingque's mouth dropped open in shock. "What?! It's actually her!"

However, Qingque was filled with confusion.

Jingliu?

Who's that?

The identity didn't matter as much as the fact that Fu Xuan appeared stunned. It wouldn't do to stand idly by like nothing was amiss while her superior reacted this way. She needed to actively support and empathize with her boss—provide emotional reassurance!
