Kapitel 28: THANK YOU BUT... NO!

Inside the small space of the lift, all Izan Marsans could hear was the violent beating of his own heart. He didn't understand why he felt some doubts, but he awkwardly let go of Amaranta's wrist and raised his other hand to show her the take-out he had been holding. —«Someone sent me this dinner, and I wanted to give it to you and your grandmother" –Amaranta stood to the side.

From her height, she could clearly see the side profile of Izan Marsans. When she looked into his eyes, Amaranta felt as if she were looking into a dark lake, and she gradually felt calm and at peace.

«I don't feel like eating right now. I'm worried about grandma… »— Lowering her hand, Izan Marsans tilted his head to one side of her and whispering in her ear, he reassured her: «Don't worry. I can help you find your grandmother…"

Faced with this situation, all Amaranta could say is "thank you." Even though she, of all people, knew full well how empty those simple words could sound. —"Don't worry, I'll ask my brother-in-law's uncle for help. He can help us find her. Wait for me here. I will take you to where he is.

After hesitating for a moment, Amaranta asked: "But it's already past midnight. Is it okay to bother him?

«There is no problem at all. He is a very nice person. Izan took Amaranta to the main doors of the hospital. Before leaving the hospital, she handed the dinner bag to the hospital security guards.

Not long after Izan Marsans and Amaranta Cid boarded a Taxi, the latter noticed that Javier Santamarina was carrying Grandma Mary by the arm, to which she shouted for the driver to stop immediately, he ran in their direction at the intersection of the intersection towards the hospital. While Izan Marsans was left throwing twenty euros at the taxi driver, then heading to the same place where he saw Amaranta run.

Javier Santamarina was already exhausted at this point. He had never expected that an elderly person could walk for so long. Practically, he had walked through half of the capital city. "Grandma!…" Seeing that it was Amaranta who stood in his way, the very tired and not very jubilant Javier Santamarina, looking more tired and sick than Grandma Mary, said: "Amaranta, you're back…"

Amaranta stubbornly insisted that he hand over her grandmother, but Javier flatly refused. Standing under the street light, he said, "Stop this nonsense, Amaranta. "You couldn't carry your grandmother with your weak body."

«Can I carry her! Please hand her over to me!? Izan Marsans told Javier Santamarina in an emotionless voice.

Javier looked at the young man standing in front of him. He was tall and with an aura that commanded respect, apart from a pretty face it was clear that he belonged to a rich family. He could say without fear of being wrong that this young man was from a family of ancient ancestry, surely old money.

Izan Marsans had clearly sensed that Amaranta did not like Javier Santamarina, he saw her concern in her eyes, so he told her: "It's okay. "I'm practically cured."

As he carried his grandmother on her back, Izan Marsans realized for the first time how thin and light an elderly person he could be. Izan was afraid of seeing Amaranta in her eyes, that she would notice the concern that had arisen inside her for her grandmother, realizing how fragile she was.

Izan Marsans' heart clenched at the thought of what would happen if Amaranta was left alone. She is such a fragile, simple and naive girl that he doesn't see her surviving alone.

The doctor immediately came to examine Grandma as soon as they returned to the hospital room and made sure she was okay before leaving them.

At this moment, Javier Santamarina was sitting on one of the beds, scrutinizing Izan, who was standing silently to the side.

«Amaranta, you are still young. "You definitely shouldn't get involved romantically at your young age."

Especially not with a little prince from a wealthy, traditional family who will surely reject you.

Definitely not.

At her words, Amaranta laughed cynically and asked: «Who do you think you are? "That's my Problem, and you have no right to give your opinion!"

Javier Santamarina was a little upset with Amaranta while he looked at her. "Amaranta, I am your father."

«No, you are not my father. You are the father of Ana Santamarina. The thought of accepting you as my father has never crossed my mind. In the future, please do not come to see my grandmother and me, never again appear on our roads. We don't need your hypocritical and abject sympathy.

Javier Santamarina gave a deep and sad sigh. It was no wonder Amaranta treated him like a stranger.

Even so, he could not stand by and helplessly watch as Amaranta leaves with a man born into a rich and aristocratic family. He feared that his whole life will be ruined, like what happened to…, well, he didn't want that.

«Amaranta, I know. I was once a void in your life. But from now on."

Amaranta cut off Javier Santamarina mid-speech. «Cut out all that garbage. Please don't ever see my grandmother again, you will only cause misunderstandings and confusion. I don't know what my grandmother told you. But it is impossible for me to stay with you, you are nothing to me, nor anyone. I'm almost 18 years old. I am an adult. I'm confident in the decisions I make for myself. I don't need you! I didn't need you before, I don't need you now, and I won't need you in the future either.

«Amaranta, what happened to that sweet girl you were when you were little. How can you be so foolish now? Your grandmother is so sick. Just look at you, do you need money to pay a doctor to heal your grandmother? Do you want to be like your grandmother and be equally stubborn, like when she didn't let you go with me? Don't you want your grandmother to get better? I have the money for your grandmother's treatment.

There is no need for you to worry about other matters as well. "You should calm down and focus on preparing for the university entrance exams."

"There's no need. "I have the money." She could now justifiably and boldly confront Javier Santamarina. She could tell him with righteous indignation that she didn't need to bother at all. Ella Amaranta knew that as a newbie, she could not expect a high salary for her role in the film. But she was confident that she would have no problem paying her grandmother's medical expenses.

Javier Santamarina continued with his tirade. — "Do you have the money? Where are you going to find the money? Amaranta, I am your father. I will not hurt you. If you don't want your own father's money, who do you want? Or do you want to sell yourself as a street girl? Do you expect him to give you money?

These last words infuriated Izan Marsans, how could a supposed father ask such questions, point out Amaranta as just anyone, he couldn't stand that.

Enraged, Izan Marsans. Without saying a word, he picked up Javier Santamarina by the neck and threw him out of Amaranta's grandmother's room. Then he closed the door from inside.

It all happened so quickly for a stunned Javier Santamarina. He looked bewildered and helpless.

A dejected and very confused Javier Santamarina was standing outside the bedroom door. He sighed long and hard, wondering what had happened to him.

As he walked away, Javier took stock of what had happened. He came to a conclusion. Amaranta would change her mind.- "She will surely change her mind!»

«Amaranta, don't be angry. I will lend you the money for your grandmother's illness. Without any problem, I will take care of looking for a good specialist."—Izan Marsans told him, using a very soft and reassuring voice.

Amaranta was comforted by Izan's words. But, she refused.

«Thank you for the kind offer. However, there is no need at the moment. I have promised my Mother Johanna that I will take on the role in the film, which she wrote. They will pay me to participate in that film and I will have the money to treat my grandmother.

Izan Marsans made a disapproving face. Within his social circle, the general opinion was that anyone who appears in films and television series is an actor or actress. They had a very bad opinion of these people. —«Don't act in the movie.

The entertainment industry is a seriously messy business. Others could hurt you if you set foot there."

Izan Marsans had a deep-rooted concept about people involved in the entertainment industry, thinking that they were all snobs.

Amaranta in his eyes is a naive and innocent girl. She might not realize if she falls prey to someone with bad intentions, she couldn't bear to know something was wrong with a girl like her.

Amaranta noticed the concern on Izan's face, so she proceeded to calm him with a sweet smile and a charming look and told Izan Marsans: "I'm going to play a role alone in this movie. Afterwards, I will only dedicate myself to studying, and it is also my Mother Johanna Sáenz's film. I'm sure no one will intimidate me. I'm just worried that…"

Without realizing it, Izan was already in front of Amaranta and delicately lifted her face, taking her chin, and said: »Tell me what's worrying you?»

"University entrance exams." —Amaranta, took and shook the pages of practice questions that she had to prepare for. —

«I am worried about the results of the university entrance exams. I'm worried that I won't be able to make it to Capital University when the time comes."— Izan Marsans took Amaranta's book and flipped through the pages. He randomly chose a page and pointed to a question.

"You got the answer to this question wrong." Amaranta took another look at the question. She routinely.

Try to solve the problem first before checking the answer in the back of the book.

She had answered that particular question while she was waiting for her grandmother to return to the hospital. Izan saw the blank look on Amaranta's face. It was quite clear that Amaranta was oblivious to her mistake.

«Izan, you are so amazing. You just looked and saw and you could see that she had made a mistake.

Izan was pleased with himself. "I graduated from Capital University with a doctorate in Physics."

"You have to be kidding, right?"

"Izan, you are really amazing!"

Izan told him that he had three doctorates, he was a professor at the University, his dream was to be an astronaut and he prepared for that, but it was impossible for him because of the blood type he had. All of this leaves her amazed.

«Well, if there is something you don't understand, you can ask me. It's getting late. I'll head to my room and get some rest. "You should rest too."

Amaranta nodded her head. After learning that Izan Marsans was a teacher and was once an outstanding student, she Amaranta began to see him as an idol.

The Physics department in fact. Only a person with an extraordinary IQ could reach that place.

Amaranta took Izan to the elevator. She held up the book containing the practice questions in her hand. "I'll take this and correct it for you. I'll tell you more about it in detail when the time comes." Despite the cold breeze, she felt warm inside.

Amaranta made a resolution. She did not want to get involved with Ana Santamarina at all costs in this life, she already went through a lot of suffering in the other, now she had good people in her life.

At dawn the next day, when the first ray of daylight emerged, the hospital restaurant had prepared a delicious and nutritious breakfast for Amaranta and her grandmother Mary.

The grandmother and granddaughter were having breakfast when two people who should not be there appeared, Ana Santamarina and Óscar Roing.

The two were wearing matching colored clothes. They were a cheesy, tacky photo of a lovely young couple.

"Grandma Mary, Amaranta."

Amaranta stopped eating breakfast. She looked at Ana and Óscar. ««What are you two doing here?»» She asked coldly.

«« Night, when dad came home, he said your grandmother was in the hospital. He came to see her with the Oscar »» Ana Santamarina placed some flowers that she was carrying in the cabinet next to the headboard of the bed. "Grandma, I hope you recover soon."

Óscar Roing gave the fruits to Amaranta. "This is just a small gift to express our concern."

"There's no need. Miss Santamarina, Mr. Roing, please take your things with you. Your kindness is well received, it is not necessary to bring gifts. Grandma and I appreciate it, but take your things with you.

Ana Santamarina, with slightly red eyes, asked: "Sister, you hate our father, don't you?"

—What is this crazy woman asking…
