Rose's heart was still racing, the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside her as she tried to process everything. Kieran's words hung in the air between them, heavy with finality.

"Wouldn't that be cruel?" Rose asked quietly, her voice shaky.

He raised an eyebrow. "Maybe. I will try to let her down gently, but I still want you to witness it because I want to prove to you that I meant what I said," he said.
