The bus came to a screeching stop.

By now, all the other passengers had also woken up.

Cursing and swearing, the bus driver went down and checked.

I scanned around to see if there were any dangers.

The other passengers looked like, well, normal folks.

Amy Lee and the rest were on high alert too.

After a few moments, the driver came back up and ushered us to get down.

One of the bus tires had punctured.

We would have to wait for a replacement bus or make our own way to Baguio.

The passengers weren't very happy.

Some of them chose to argue with the bus driver.

The rest of the passengers grumbled and decided to find other means of transport.

We got our backpacks from the bus and decided to go on our way.

It might just have been an accident, but it felt too suspicious, happening right after we arrived in the Philippines.

We were like sitting ducks if we waited for the replacement bus.
