Jay stood in front of Charlotte as if protecting her. Odin saw this and just smiled gently, saying, "Don't worry, I mean no harm."

Jay still didn't move and became even more vigilant at this old fox's words. He didn't look at Odin's appearance and think this was just a kind old man. He was Odin the Allfather, ruler of the nine realms. The amount of blood on his hands would make the likes of Hitler blush in shame.

Although he had aged and was far from his prime, Jay didn't underestimate him. Even now, Odin was using most of his power to seal Hela, but even with all that, he still had enough strength to destroy the army of Frost Giants when Thor went to Jotunheim, forcing Laufey, the Frost Giants' king, to back down from the sight of his absolute power.

His existence itself was a form of strength, a deterrence to other forces in the galaxy. Why didn't Thanos just go get the stone on Earth himself instead of sending his goons while he sat his lazy ass on his floating chair? One reason was an old hag of a wizard holding the Time Stone—the Ancient One, meditating suddenly sneezed—and the other reason was this old bastard, Odin.

After a bit of a stalemate, Jay spoke first, asking the old monster, "Odin, the ruler of the Nine Realms, King of Asgard, why have you called us here?"

"There is no need to be so formal," Odin replied.

"His mood seems a bit happier, though..." Charlotte muttered under her breath, making Odin stiffen a bit. Her words caused Odin to turn his attention to her, looking at her as if examining her.

"You seem to be in possession of a rather peculiar ability, very powerful and ancient. You have the potential to lift Mjolnir too. Midgard has gotten more protectors, it would seem."

At his words, Jay frowned slightly. He always had a weird feeling that Charlotte's ability was something more than it seemed, but there were no clues on how exactly she gained it, so he just let it pass. But now Odin's words caused him to think, and he asked the old king, "Do you know of her origin?"

Odin's eyes flashed a thoughtful look as he rubbed his chin, thinking before telling an old story. "Many years ago, in my conquest of the nine realms, I met a powerful being and battled him. While I managed to break his armor, I eventually lost and retreated."

Jay raised an eyebrow. Someone that even Odin couldn't beat was quite something, and this was Odin in his prime, waging war across the Nine Realms. Thinking hard on all the clues and remembering a brief discussion he had with one of his friends in his last life about the comics, he concluded, "A Celestial."

Odin nodded, looking off in the distance as if remembering some old memories. Jay didn't pay him any heed, though, as he had bigger problems at hand. Holding Charlotte's arm and looking her straight in the eyes, he questioned, "Do you know of any of this?"

"No! I just know that my parents adopted me, that's all. How can I know that I am some kind of powerful being?" Charlotte, while shocked and confused at this revelation, still rolled her eyes at his obvious dumb question. Jay didn't care about this, though, as this new information was a bit shocking.

The Celestials were an ancient race of entities that possessed vast matter and energy manipulation abilities. They were present long before the dawn of the galactic communities and even the Asgardians. They were notorious for their utilization of the Infinity Stones.

It was like suddenly learning that your lover was actually a super-powerful cosmic being. But Jay forced himself to calm down before hugging Charlotte and sighing, "I always thought that you were special, but it didn't occur to me that you were this special. This isn't a bad thing, though."

Not knowing much about her actual race, Charlotte just tilted her head but still snuggled up in Jay's arms.

Odin, sitting on the sideline and feeling that the atmosphere was quickly becoming pinkish, lightly coughed, snapping the pair out of their thoughts. "The girl is very special indeed, but you are even more special, my boy. There is something inside you that I cannot see or understand at all."

Thinking for a bit as if choosing his words, Odin continued, "That's why I have something to request of you."

Jay somewhat understood what Odin meant. His power came from the system, and the system was something that came from...well, he didn't know where it came from. While he was curious, he also understood it was something he couldn't figure out with his current level of strength.

So Jay turned his attention back to the old man. "So what do you want? Help Thor stop Loki? I can do that, but it would defeat the purpose of training your heir, wouldn't it?"

Throughout the events of Thor, Odin was always watching. Loki wouldn't have had any chance of success in all that he had done if Odin hadn't allowed him to. And Thor suddenly gaining worthiness of the hammer? Please, the old fox probably saw his son almost die, so he loosened the seal on the hammer a bit for Thor.

At his questioning, Odin shook his head and simply replied, "Nothing much, protect him from danger if needed and guide him on the right path. This humble old man requests only so much."

Jay was about to refuse him as this would affect Thor and the timeline, leading to unforeseen consequences. As for him messing with Tony Stark's life? Well, he was a bit short on cash, and desperate times called for desperate measures.

But he also understood the weight of his actions, and unless needed, he did not want to change the future too much. On the other hand, this deal did not benefit him anyway and might put him at a disadvantage. What was his best leverage to survive in this world?

The system? Somewhat, but his biggest advantage was his knowledge of the future and its important events, characters, and developments. And he did not want to throw away his advantage of future knowledge. It would be no different from chopping off his own hand.

But when he was about to turn down Odin's request, the old man beat him to it. "I will let you take one item from my vault."

Odin's vault, also known as Odin's Treasure Room or the Weapon's Vault, was a room in the Royal Palace of Asgard that held a number of relics Odin had gained as a result of his victories over the course of his life. Any one of these items was enough to cause war and conflict across the galaxy. Considering his offer for a bit, Jay made his choice.

"I will decline..." His words caused Odin to be taken aback. He had captured, stolen, purchased, and did whatever he could to take all the relics and weapons that could bring about Ragnarok (the Asgardian version of the end of times), and he locked them away in a vault at the base of his palace. So anything he thought could bring the universe down was now under lock and key. And Jay had just rejected one of such items. This brought endless shock to him. Jay continued, though, "...though, if you make a weapon equal to Mjolnir, then I will consider it."

Odin rubbed his chin in thought, weighing the benefits and drawbacks before nodding. "Very well. I will ask the Dwarves' King of Nidavellir to make one of the best weapons for you."

But Jay shook his head. "Not for me, but for her," he said, pointing at Charlotte, much to her confusion and Odin's shock.

Feeling her questioning gaze, he smiled. "Just think of it as an early birthday present."

Hearing his words, Odin nearly fell back from shock.
