Just hearing the voice from outside and the name mentioned, Gin knew trouble was coming his way.

The man who walked into Squad Four's recruitment area was tall, had a fierce face with a scar on his left cheek, wore an eyepatch over his right eye, and had black hair styled like a spiky porcupine with bells tied at the tips.

On his shoulder sat a small pink-haired girl in a miniature Shinigami uniform, looking no older than ten.

Following behind this man were Ikkaku and Yumichika, who had just joined Squad Eleven.

"Gin said he wanted to join Squad Four earlier, so he should be here," Ikkaku said, casually betraying his friend in front of his idol.

Ikkaku and Yumichika knew Kenpachi, having been beaten by him in Rukongai.

It was a mystery why Kenpachi decided to show up at the recruitment event, but when Ikkaku saw his idol, he immediately challenged him again.

A newly graduated Shinigami challenging the man known as Kenpachi and the captain of Squad Eleven was unheard of, but Ikkaku did it anyway.

Believing his skills had significantly improved after years at Shin'o Academy, Ikkaku wanted to test his growth against his idol.

Despite Kenpachi's status as both "Kenpachi" and Squad Eleven's captain, Ikkaku's challenge was something he wouldn't ignore.

Zaraki Kenpachi, a battle maniac, cared little for his Shinigami identity. He came to Seireitei because it promised more worthy opponents.

While Ikkaku remembered Kenpachi, Kenpachi did not remember Ikkaku's name, as he only remembered those who truly excited him in battle. Ikkaku and Yumichika had yet to reach that level.

Kenpachi accepted Ikkaku's challenge, leading to a one-sided battle. Despite Ikkaku's growth in spiritual pressure, swordsmanship, and Shunpo, he was still crushed by Kenpachi's overwhelming power.

This time, Ikkaku's strength managed to pique Kenpachi's interest, and he remembered Ikkaku's name.

In his frustration after defeat, Ikkaku inadvertently mentioned Gin's name, claiming Gin could last longer against Kenpachi and might even injure him.

Kenpachi took note of this, grinning as he asked, "Where is this Gin you mentioned?"

Seireitei has many worthy opponents, but Gotei 13 has rules against captains fighting each other due to the potential damage their spiritual pressure could cause.

However, according to Ikkaku, Gin was just a newly graduated Shinigami, not a captain, so the rules didn't apply. Hence, Squad Eleven showed up at Squad Four's recruitment area.

Striding into Squad Four's recruitment area, Kenpachi looked every bit the thug, with his Zanpakutō on one shoulder, the pink-haired girl on the other, and two hulking followers on either side. He loudly declared, "Where's this Gin guy? Come out and fight me!"

Kiyone, a rookie Shinigami, was petrified. While she had heard of squads competing for recruits, she never expected Squad Eleven's captain to personally come over.

Captain Unohana remained calm, smiling as she addressed the intruders, "Captain Zaraki, this is Squad Four's recruitment area. What brings you here?"

Before Kenpachi could answer, the pink-haired girl on his shoulder, Yachiru, piped up, "Ken-chan is here to find a guy named Gingin. He wants to fight him."

"Vice-Captain, his name is Gin, not Gin-gin," Ikkaku corrected, only to be met with Yachiru's displeasure.

"Shut up, you bald head! Don't interrupt me!" she snapped, even spitting on his polished head.

Ikkaku was furious. "Yumichika, don't stop me. I'm going to teach this brat a lesson!"

To a bald man, a shiny head is a matter of pride, and Ikkaku couldn't stand his dignity being trampled.

"Calm down, Ikkaku. The vice-captain meant no harm, and we might not be able to beat her anyway," Yumichika cautioned, knowing Yachiru's strength.

Yumichika had tested Yachiru once, curious about why Squad Eleven's vice-captain was a child. Before he could attack, she had appeared behind him like a ghost, proving her vice-captain level strength.
