Kapitel 106: Most valued possession...

Adrian's heart raced as he held the golden scroll, his eyes skipping over the clauses and going straight to the bottom, where the phrase "Signature Required: Your most valued possession" was written in gleaming golden script.

His breath hitched. He reread the line, hoping he had misunderstood, but the words remained the same. 

The contract demanded something he wasn't expecting—something far more precious than he could have imagined. At least it wasn't the Scar of Ecstacy or something else.

He exhaled slowly, steadying himself, then glanced up at Ava, who stood watching him with a knowing smile.

"Your most valued possession," she repeated in a smooth and alluring voice. "It's a fair price, don't you think? For everything I offer in return."

Adrian's mind raced. He wasn't sure what that meant for him. He didn't have gold or jewels—he wasn't a wealthy man by any means, at least since he lost all he had. So what was his most valued possession?
