It was a far cry from their first meeting in a place that was a temporary resting place for the crown prince Dekert Jesso's entourage—an entourage that, at the time, included two very unwilling attendants, Chester and Firenze Jesso.

That was a permanent departure for both of them, though Chester hadn't intended it to be permanent then. Although now that he looked back on the situation, he knew Firenze had intended to find his way back alone if that's what it took.

Even Chester had been thoroughly disgusted by what Dekert wanted to utilize his research about this area for. To that end, he'd sent an irate message to his parents. Most of the content railed at them about the rotten advice they'd given him about tolerating his cousin Dekert's antics for the last time.
