Kapitel 19: Saint

„Ughh, I'm so fucking bored." Ezequiel has been inside the lower dimension for 6 hours straight now. After his Angels set off to fight the enemy, he chose to stay there since he didn't want any accidents to occur.

Though that was a good plan, it meant that Ezequiel has been staring at a mountain, a small part of a forest and the ruins of a village since then. Except for a few animals and beasts there was no living thing in the vicinity. This meant that there was nothing for him to do.

„I should have told one of the weak Angels to stay behind and do some tricks or something. It's not like they would change the outcome anyways."

At this moment Ezequiel was abruptly distracted from his thought by an Angel flying into the area where he was able to see. Ezequiel wanted to ask them how the fight went until he saw what the Angel carried in his arms.

Instead of asking what happened, he simply chose to read both of their memories. After finding out about the situation and how the Angel got those injuries, he was reassured but also angry.

At first he had feared that his Angels had suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the enemies, but now it seemed like it was just this single Angel that was in danger. But Ezequiel was angry nonetheless.

How dare they hurt one of his believers. Of course he knew that there would eventually be casualties in war, but he didn't prepare for them to happen so soon. He was angry at the enemy and swore that he wanted to eliminate every single goblin from the surface of this planet.

Usually another god would try to convert them to his religion, but Ezequiel didn't lack faith points at the moment. He also had grander plans for this planet which would soon be his.

But for now he had to focus on the wounded Angel. He would obviously heal him, no question. After all with his potential, he would earn him back the faith points he would use very quickly. Ezequiel didn't just help him for the faith points though.

Each of his subjects was very important to him. They believed and put all their faith into him. How could he let them down? Ezequiel hadn't got drunk on power yet and didn't plan to in the future. He still knew that all his believers were living people and he would help them if the price wasn't too high.

With that out of the way, Ezequiel started channeling faith points into the Angel like crazy. Due to their nigh omnipotent nature they would automatically heal the Angel without Ezequiel having to do anything. Of course, if Ezequiel had a divinity related to healing, then he could control the process and save some Faith Points. But he didn't have that option.

It was actually a very close call for Ezequiel to fully heal the Angel. He spent all the 20 Million Faith Points he had left and some surface wounds were still remained, but it was enough for the Angel to not carry any permanent wounds.

After the process he was as good as new. With fresh arms, legs and flesh all around his body. Even his hair regrew completely. The only thing left was the mental damage, but that was negligible. After all the only thing that really occupied the Angels mind was Ezequiel.

After the process, both Angels laid on the ground in prayer. For them it was like witnessing a miracle, granted by their god. „I thank the Almighty Lord Creator for granting me a second chance. I will do everything I can to repay this miracle you have bestowed upon me."

‚Well, not like you wouldn't have done that before' Ezequiel thought in his mind, but didn't dare to say it out loud. That would be too embarrassing for the Angel.

But unbeknownst to Ezequiel, something did actually change. At this moment, the Angel started glowing and slowly rising into the air. He stopped further ascending when he was a meter above the ground. As he stopped there, he suddenly started crazily gathering spiritual energy towards himself and absorbed it.

This happened to the confusion of Ezequiel, but the other Angel actually seemed to know what was going on. He was overjoyed and celebrated by praying even more intensely.

Wanting to clear up his confusion, Ezequiel started reading the mind of the other Angel, before being overjoyed as well. Before him something that every god wished for was happening. The Angel of Death was turning into a Saint.

The normal level of believers were False, Shallow, True, Pious and Fanatic believer. This was normally the limit that could be reached. But there were some levels above them.

Those Levels were Saint, Prophet and Holy Spirit. According to what he read on the internet, there came a variety of benefits with being a Saint.

For one, they would produce a thousand times the amount of Faith Points a fanatic believer could. They could also lead ceremonies and rituals for their god to increase the amount of faith points that believers gathered when praying.

But aside from the Faith Points there were some even more important abilities they gained. The god could actually take control of the body of a Saint and fight in their stead. This usually meant more fighting power since most older gods were actually stronger than their believers.

Even more benefits could only be unlocked when Ezequiel broke through to the lesser god realm. The Saint would then be able to wield some of his abilities and authority, increasing their fighting power by a huge amount.

Usually they would also have a closer connection to their god and instinctively know what they wanted.

Additionally you could also increase the bloodline-level of a saint but it's very expensive. Nonetheless, having the option is always nice.

For this reason every god wanted Saint as a follower, but gaining one was very difficult. The first requirement was that the believer would have to be a fanatic, which wasn't hard for Ezequiel to fulfill.

But aside from that it mostly came down to luck. Usually a follower would ascend to the Saint level after you raised their faith in you by a large amount again. But that was very hard, considering they are already a fanatic. Even then it is not guaranteed to happen and there seems to be another condition. Or maybe it's just luck.

Anyways, this was very good for Ezequiel. After all the Angel of Death could now act as a kind of leader for the Angels. Additionally he would also produce a whopping 500 Million Faith Points a day. More than 20 times the amount his other believers earned combined.

The transformation was completed after about 5 minutes and the newly promoted saint sank back to the floor.
