Inside the living room, Hirvan stood breathless, facing Elian. He thought he needed to let the man know that he was ashamed of his past behaviour.

"I am really sorry. I shouldn't have disappeared like that. I shouldn't have thought just because I am an adult now, I could act without consulting you. You are my father and I know You want what's best for me. And I promise you, I will show you with my actions how much I regret my rash decision. I will make you proud. I will be the best son, the best heir, the best at everything."

Elian stared deeply into Hirvan's eyes, searching for the meaning of those words. His son's gaze was steady, and for the first time in what felt like forever, there was no trace of detachment lingering in those eyes. Instead, Elian saw sincerity, raw and unfiltered. All those words had come straight from the bottom of his heart. This was not some lip service or fake flattery, it was genuine.
