Kapitel 64: The King's Decision

[A Few Months Later]

(Rhaegon's POV)

"Mother, you shouldn't be traveling in your condition." I said as I sat on the throne of Summerhall, "What if something happens?"

"I like flying." Mother said as she smiled, "How is my sweetling doing in his new home?"

I shrugged, "Bored." I said, "It's been too calm as of late."

She walked up the steps and Immediately stood up, walking up to her and grabbing her hand. I could easily see her large pregnant belly through her dress.

"Ah...." She said as I pulled her up gently, "Well, it's been too long since I've seen my beloved son and his lovers."

I frowned, "You didn't have to take your dragon all the way here, I could've flown us to Storm's End." I said

"Exercise is good for the child." She said with a chuckle

"Sit down." I gestured to the throne

"It's your Seat." She said with her own frowned

"You're my Mother and the Princess." I told her, "If anything, Summerhall should've gone to you."

"Ah, how courteous." She chuckled as she sat down and patted her own belly

I looked around, "Didn't bring your servants? Your maid, Rhea?" I asked

"They're too terrified to ride my dragon." She said, "So no."

"Why're you here?" I asked with a raised eyebrow

"I wanted to see you." She said, "I can't see my own son?"

"It's not that, the child is about to come out, Mother, you have to be at Storm's End." I told her, "If Father's new Heir is to be born, it should be there."

"Calm down." She said, "He's not due until the following month."

I sighed, "If you say so."

"Look at how much you've grown, my beautiful boy." She said as she looked at me, "Prince of Summerhall."

I rubbed my hair, "Yea...." I said

I heard the doors open and I turned to see the Sand Snakes walk in, wearing their fancy dresses from Dorne.

"Princess!" Nymeria said with a smile, "I knew I heard another Dragon."

"Ah, look at you three, so beautiful as always." Mother said

I watched as they walked up the steps and bowed slightly as Mother sat on the seat.

"Your belly is bigger." Tyene said, "Is the child almost here?"

"Soon, child." Mother said, "Soon."

"It's good to see you, Princess." Obara said with a smile

"It is good to see you as well, my girls." Mother responded, "But I am here to bear news, bad if that's how you'll take it."

I looked at her, "Huh?"

Mother looked at me, "Rhaegar has made his decision, my boy." She said, "Tywin Lannister has won in his persistent advances."

I frowned, "Y-You don't mean....." I started

She nodded, "It is good, though." She said as she shifted in the seat, "Mayhaps this way, there will be no issues."

"What's she saying?" Tyene asked me

I sighed, "I guess it's about time, huh?"

I looked at the Snakes, Tyene and Obara were a bit confused, but it was Nymeria who realized what Mother meant, she was looking down with a bit of disappointment.

"Rhaegon is to be betrothed." Mother said, "As has always been the plan. You three as Paramours and a Wife. One could say he's the most fortunate soul in the world, while others say he's the most cursed. More women means more problems as some men say."

"W-Who?" Tyene started, "Who's he going to marry?"

"We need to think about the bloodline." Mother told me, "I've been saying this for years, to keep the Targaryen line as pure as we can. At first, I thought it would be my sister, but Rhaegar denied me. But now....he's agreed to mine suggestions. And Tywin's."

I looked down, "Oh boy." I said as I rubbed my neck, "I...."

"You're marrying your cousin, Rhaegon." Mother continued,

"Princess Myrcella."

[The Red Keep, King's Landing]

(Third Person POV)

Cersei Lannister, The Queen of Westeros, sat in a table across from her Father, Lord Tywin Lannister, The Hand of The KIng.

She was holding a cup of wine in her hand as she gave him a serious glare.

Tywin leaned back on his chair, "Glaring at me won't change a thing, daughter." He said

"I bet you're happy." Cersei said, "This moves things to the next step in your plan, doesn't it? What do you intend to do? Get rid of Viserys?"

"I would never conspire to get rid of anyone in the Royal Family." Tywin said with a cold tone, "I am doing what is necessary, for what's best for the Realm. This is simply a closer step to achieve the peace we strive for."

"Best for you." Cersei muttered

"Tell me." Tywin said as he looked at his daughter, "Would you have liked your eldest daughter, the Princess Myrcella, to be married off to some second-son of a nobody who would've wanted Naerys or Helaena simply because they have dragons?"

Cersei looked at him without saying a word.

"Myrcella may not have her own dragon, yes, that much is true." Tywin continued, "But she is Targaryen and the Dragon's Blood must be kept close. Aerys Targaryen was a fool for giving Shaena to Robert, but what can we do about it now? Robert has Targaryen blood as well, so there's that. But Rhaegar giving Daenerys to Robb Stark was an even worst mistake. Giving off a Dragon to the North, what kind of move was that?"

"Your point?" Cersei said

"Rhaegon is Shaena's son, as much as a Targaryen as Myrcella is." He said, "Their children will be Targaryens as well, they will have dragons and we will keep them close to each other. We cannot spread the Dragon's Blood across the realm, what good would it do to us?"

"And my other daughters?" Cersei said, "They have dragons, what do you intend to do with them?"

"That is up to the King." Tywin said, "It always has been."

"Yet you manipulated him to do your bidding. To marry Myrcella and Rhaegon so when Viserys is disinherited, according to your master plan, they will be on the throne, and your blood will continue to be on it as well." Cersei said, "Everything has always been about you."

"Myrcella is considered a bastard." Tywin said, "Treasonous statements, all of them. But nobody will bat an eye if she marries Rhaegon. Rhagon is fierce, unforgiving, and ruthless when it comes to such treasonous statements. To have her by his side is a wise move. As for the other girls, we might as well make use of our alliances with the Starks and Baratheons. If Viserys were to have a son, I would've suggested that Naerys marry him, but alas, that is not the case."

Cersei shook her head as she looked away, "All of this....such insanities."

"Insanities to keep the Realm stable. Marriages are an integral part of how the world works, you know that." Tywin said, "We're at the edge of War. The Pretender grows stronger by the day and there is a Dragon at the head of a Dothraki Army. Our spies count more than 100,000 strong, angry that Rhaegon killed their Great Khal. This new Khal, the rider of the dragon, must be related to a Targaryen bastard line of sort."

"What?" Cersei asked

"There had been rumors that after Daemon Blackfyre's failed rebellions, a bastard line of 'pure' Targaryens had integrated themselves with the Blackfyres." Tywin said, "It wasn't an issue over the years before the Fated Rebirth but now...that is proving to the biggest problem. Who knows how many riders they could have at their disposal. Aside from Rhaegar, we only have two that are capable of taking their dragons to War. Viserys and Rhaegon."

"Hm...." Cersei said, "Dragonstone...."

Tywin looked at her, "What?"

She shook her head, "I...." She said, "I'm drunk, pay me no mind."

"No, continue." Tywin said

Cersei looked at her father, "I've been having dreams....of Dragonstone, just nightmares caused by the guilt of the Tragedy." She said as tears formed in her eyes, "Ellia was my friend....what happened to her and her children...."

"Terrible." Tywin said, "Nobody knows what caused that.....it is still a mystery....."

"Yes....but there is something that Jaime told me that has always bothered me...." Cersei said

"What?" Tywin said

"When...." Cersei stopped herself, "When he retrieved the remains of.....of....b-baby..Aegon....."

She covered her mouth, to stop her tears as she wiped them away immediately.

"What is it?" Tywin said

Cersei let out an exhale, "All of Rhaegar's children bear the mark of flames." she said, "My girls have it, Rhaenys had it, and the babe as well. All of them on the same exact spot."

"And?" Tywin asked as he

"Jaime said that the babe didn't have the mark..." Cersei said softl

Tywin's face hardened, "What did you say?"

Cersei nodded, "It's true." she said, "Jaime swears that the babe did not have Rhaegar's mark....but I saw it when he was born, Father...."

"Aegon had his father's mark."
