Russell thought he had only crossed over into a non-divine timeline of the Marvel universe.
After all, in this world, Captain America had been excavated prematurely, and there were superheroes like the Fantastic Four and Spider-Woman.
But Diana's appearance, along with the system's reward display, proved that things weren't as simple as he had imagined.

"That and this are different!" Diana said unreasonably.
'My ass is different!' As much as he would have liked to say that, one cannot do anything about women being unreasonable...
Although Diana was his girlfriend, and they knew each other inside out, Russell didn't think it was wise to reveal the system's existence to her.
"Looks like you're not going to tell the truth!" Diana said, putting away her sword and shield, and taking out a magic rope from her waist.
The originally ordinary rope began to emit a golden glow when Diana picked it up.
Diana flicked her wrist, and the golden rope bound Russell tightly.
"When bound by the magic rope, you can only tell the truth! Tell me, what's the deal with this black head on your body?" Diana asked.
When Diana finished speaking, Russell might have felt an overwhelming urge to confess everything, but that would have happened if he didn't have blessing from a certain amazonian warrior princess who had a lasso which makes one compelled to say the truth.
Surprise bitches!
The blessing also includes negation from the lasso. Semi-Divine Powers weren't there just for show!
You think living with the goddess for 2 years, and he wouldn't have already experimented with the lasso?
Well finding it hidden "cleverly" in the attic did make him break a sweat...
But nobody needed to know all that.
