The next day the cohort made their way to Snowy Peak Mountain Station where a bored Zhan Kong pretended to be a stoic guardian and took over the assessment from his subordinates and proposed the bounty mission.
The students and teachers were livid, the commander wanted them to actually go out and scout an area previously infested with One eyed magic wolves and recover a lost arrifact of instructor Bai Yang.
Zhan Kong then coaxed them with the allure of a defensive arrifact worth up to 300 thousand, while personally he was fine with the whole thing of Summouned Beast pretending to be a wild one as long as he got an A.
As for preventing deaths, he believed with him and Mo Fan on their guard, it should be possible to push the wolf back, but from there it would be Mo Fan's or Zhan Kong's responsibility to kill the thing.
In his inference, the reason the wolf went crazy was because some trace amounts of Violent Spring made its way to the water source, coincidentally of intentionally, he wasn't sure about.
He was in a group led by another Ice mage, considering his grades he should be a group leader but he guessed people were either not convinced of his leadership or it was his element that deterred them, as for Mo Fan it was either because the Mus wanted to reduce his grades after all group leaders usually got higher grades due to their responsibility in these situations or because he routinely late to classes after cultivating all night, kid couldn't adjust to lack of sleep like him.
Once the mission began he tried his best to be prudent, to this end he brought out Beast tracking powder, some handy medicines, his knowledge of beasts and plants.
As for when the Wolf attacked, since he was already prepared and that it wasn't the first demon he saw, he cast a Brilliant Light Flare into its eyes to confuse it. But in the end Mo Fan still dragged the creature to the cave and mysteriously killed it, earning everyone an A grade and himself a defensive magic equipment.
