"Eh!", Ye jumped from shock.
Old Ze's face paled...
All of them had one thing in mind, 'What happened?'
It was definitely not an illusion since right now, they could still see the water creature impaled on his..... claws?
Earlier, he acted tough, thinking that this kid was just too reckless so Old Ze took pity to himself.
But it was too sudden that Sceke and Veronia had yet to process what they saw.
While Hanzee had his mouth wide open.
Renir hadn't noticed their faces since a wave of swarms already surrounded him.
Renir threw the dead drainer from his claws towards the entrance of the cave which slapped Hanzee's face with no reaction.
Pak*
Hanzee didn't care as he watched closely when Renir dived.
As his body became a vague silhouette underneath the water, large ripples disrupted the water surface, making it glitter in spiral waves.
Rapid movements that shouldn't be possible under the water could be seen from Renir's showed figure before dead water creatures continuously jumped out of the flood into the cave's entrance, slapping into the five's baffled faces.
Renir mass slaughtered the water creatures mercilessly!
The moonlight dimmed and began to sink over the edge and before it did so, the cave's entrance was filled with riches.
Renir resurfaced, wiped his face, and saw that the entrance was already filled with dead water creatures that were about to cover the people he just met.
"Oh... s-sorry!", Renir swam towards the cave entrance to clean up the mess he made, "I got carried away. I'm too hyperactive since I just drank pure water energy.", he explained apologetically.
He thought he might've too rude because of his hyper energy.
"Wait!", a shout came out of the pile of dead water creatures.
Hanzee suddenly found his consciousness when he heard the words "pure water energy"
Inside the pile of water creatures, Sceke had his eyes glittering from the riches he was seeing. It felt wonderful to be buried in money, he thought.
Meanwhile, Old Ze, Ye, and Veronia were just recovering from their shocks as this extreme emotion was eventually replaced with amazement.
Old Ze's legs trembled again as he saw the pile of water creatures that hid them while Ye was moved, 'Awesome!', she thought.
"Yes?", Renir answered, startled to Hanzee's exclamation.
"Did you just say pure water energy? Do you mean the concentrated energy of water element?", Hanzee had a heavy expression as he tried to find clarification from Renir.
Which, although confused, Renir responded with a nod, "Yes"
Hanzee's eyes trembled and held his head in fear. He already ignored what an unbelievable being Renir was and thought, 'It explains why he was spat out from the Water Sentinel...'
Veronia peeked out her head, saw Hanzee's expression so she asked, "What is it?"
"The thing about the mountain's name,", the atmosphere dimmed, suddenly it was grim, "that was not just what I have read about...", his eyes trembled as he looked down but then he realized they were in trouble, Hanzee immediately shouted;
"Renir, get out of the flood now! The reason you are thrown out of the Water Sentinel's stomach was that you drank the concentrated water elemental energy, right?"
Renir sensed Hanzee's desperate tone so he quickly jumped out of the water and replied with, "Yes!"
Hanzee grimly continued, "I've read about the Water Sentinel that once it deemed someone a dangerous foe, it will do anything annihilate that foe."
"...i-it will do anything?", Renir felt just fear took a bite from his confidence.
"Yes, when you were eaten, it looked at you as if you were just weak prey.", Hanzee sadly looked at Renir, "But once it saw you as its enemy, it will use all its power, the concentrated energy inside it, to manipulate the water natures and its terrifying forces!", he explained that brought greater shock with overwhelming horror.
All of them heard Hanzee's explanation clearly. Subconsciously, the other four glanced at their beads of revival.
Sceke had two and Old Ze had four, and Ye had five, and Veronia also had four.
Hanzee at his own and saw three more, revolving around his wrists. Only themselves could see it so Renir jaw saw their sad expressions.
"Renir?", Veronia took Renir's attention, "Don't worry, it's not your fault.", she smiled.
Renir sweated out of great guilt and fear, but most of all, he thought, 'They already accepted their deaths?', which he didn't blame them for having that acceptance.
Because he realized the reason for the dimming moonlight.
Renir turned his head at the moon and only saw a glimpse of it before it was covered by the rising water.
After he saw the rising water that soared and covered the moon, he looked at the flood near him and noticed the obvious decreasing of elevation.
The surface of the flood was getting farther and farther down.
That was the time he realized where he was, he was at the peak of the indestructible mountain!
The land shook and the dead water creatures slipped and fell over the cave's entrance which no one cares, not even Sceke for he knew what was to come.
Old Ze slowly hugged his granddaughter tightly, he knew he had no power to protect her but he couldn't help but do so.
Sceke, Veronia, and Hanzee just closed their eyes, waiting for their deaths, which would be not for the first time.
Tears fell on their cheeks, none of them wanted to meet death again...
The water soared high and covered every moonlight that reached them. They were covered by total darkness. But still, nobody cared since their eyes were closed after all, except, Renir.
These five really were more experienced that Renir, even the little Ye. They knew that there will be inevitable times where death was knocking at their doorsteps in the world of Gantlet, they just need to accept such fate.
But it doesn't mean they were better than Renir!
"Don't close your eyes! There's still time before the impact!", Renir shouted.
Far from them, but approaching at an incredible speed, was like a gigantic wall of water that could even reach the skies.
A normal person would've dropped to their feet and regretted their life.
"Renir, you should know there's no escape to that.", Sceke whispered before the wind blew wildly, foretelling the terror that was about to come.
Among the droplets of water that was carried by the wild wind were the tears the deadmen dropped.
"No! The cave!", Renir shouted, wanted to change their mind. In his head, he still had the misconception that these people were stronger than him, "We could hide in the cave, the cave below!", he pointed down where the stone tablet resides, "There is no way we could be harmed by that...! Then we could team up and beat the Water Sentinel!"
From what Renir said, Sceke smiled at him, "I think you have the wrong idea. You can clearly see our fears. We are not as strong as you think we are."
"....", Renir's eyes widened, "So we can't defeat it?", he was shocked but it made sense to him now.
Sceke just shook his head. He could barely stand up from his strengthless legs.
At that point, even Renir cried again, "... I'm sorry...", his face clenched as he said in the total darkness but with raging sound of waves brought by the wind.
But at the edge of his eyes, he noticed a faint white light.
He turned his head and saw that it was not the moonlight.
Renir gritted his teeth as he saw the Water Sentinel glowing, using the concentrated elemental energy inside of it.
The Water Sentinel had its fanged mouth wide open underneath the towering wall of water, arriving to cause mass destruction!
Its body was slithering under the water as if it was a little fish but considering its massive size, bigger than a blue whale, its speed was something Renir couldn't catch up with.
"AAHHHH!!-", Renir shouted with all his might like a lion's roar while the strong wind even got wilder because of the approaching demise. He couldn't accept this death!
But he couldn't do anything about...
His roaring shout was abruptly stopped when the towering wall of water plunged and slammed into the indestructible mountain.
BOOM~!!*
A devastating sound of a great wave echoed throughout Gantlet.
Instantly...
None of them survive.
By then, the moon completely sank and covered the flood with pure darkness.
However, just like fireflies, five golden lights glittered across the flood, far away from the mountain.
And one, larger than the others had a different color of light.
The eleventh night ended which brought strong winds.
