Kapitel 27: The Showdown

Jamar was breathing heavily, sweat pouring down his face. His eyes went up to the scoreboard—it displayed 2 minutes left. His Clutch Gene had activated, but the opponents he faced this time around were his match. Gary had lost his smile and was breathing hard. His eyes locked on Jamar, not caring about anyone else. Throughout the game, they had been going back and forth, both leading their respective teams in scoring: Jamar with 30 points, while Gary had 26.

Jeremy passed the ball to Jamar, who proceeded to call for an isolation. With a thought, Jamar walked as he dribbled the ball all the way to the three-point line and then did a snatch back. Gary did not move, indifferent to the handles Jamar showed. Gary tried to poke the ball loose, but as he reached in, he left a small window of opportunity for Jamar, who took it. Jamar crossed back to his right and drove to the basket.
