Lucas took on the six men that attacked him, and although he wasn't quickly defeated, the presence of the two second level stellar practitioners made the battle more difficult than it should have been.
Since they were ordered to arrest Lucas, the agents couldn't use their guns and had resorted to hand-to-hand combat.
One of the four first level stellar practitioners was the quickest to arrive with range. He threw a punch at Lucas, expecting to force the latter into a retreat. However, Lucas could see that the very second he did so, he would be one step closer to defeat.
[1] I recalled that the initial keyword was 'Restore', but then I switched to 'Retrieve'.
Before the system's first upgrade, the inventory stored items in their 'saved' state (this is actually canon). So, if the item was stored while on the user's wrist, when it was taken out, it would reappear on the wrist. Hence why the activation word was 'Restore'. For instance, before he stored them in the system inventory, Lucas had worn the gloves on. As such, the gloves always appeared on his hands whenever he called for them.
However, later on, the system's inventory upgrade came into effect. The keyword switched to 'Retrieve', but that wasn't the only change. Lucas can now summon items from the system inventory on any part of his body, rather than to its 'saved' state. That means that even if he has a pair of gloves on and sends them to the system inventory, when he calls for the item, it can appear on his feet, if he wishes. If there's no intent for the destination, it would then appear in the 'saved' state.
