Kapitel 157: 157 Farewell To Bill Professor

After talking with Professor Sycamore, I finally got some direction.

The power of bonds, in Ash's heart, according to Professor Sycamore's analysis, was temporarily named "the power of bonds."

Professor Sycamore also said that he would continue to research to see if he could find anything special. As for the changes in moves, it was all due to the effect of this bond power.

However, according to Professor Sycamore, this power is different from Mega Evolution. Aside from the difficulty in cultivating such bonds, there's no way to use this power with multiple Pokémon at the same time.

From this point of view, Mega Evolution also causes fatigue for both Trainer and Pokémon, but it seems I can still use this power on other Pokémon, though it obviously makes me feel tired.

It was the same after battling Growlithe back then, so I worked hard to train myself.

"Let's take it one step at a time!" Ash decided not to overthink things. After all, this power has brought good things so far, not just what Professor Sycamore mentioned.

This power is inside me, and I can feel it. I know it hasn't reached its full potential yet, and my body tells me this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Maybe as it gets stronger, I'll naturally understand it more. If I can't figure it out, one day I'll head to Kalos, a region that is still somewhat unknown to me.

I contacted Professor Oak again and told him about my conversation with Professor Sycamore. Professor Oak was curious but didn't seem overly interested.

In this world, humans with special abilities aren't seen as strange—like psychics, as long as they don't misuse their powers, they can live peacefully.

Since Professor Sycamore is an expert in this area, Professor Oak also advised me to listen to him.

Ash didn't argue—after all, he didn't have any other leads at the moment. He then told Professor Oak about the new move he discovered.

Professor Oak agreed to help Ash register the move with the Pokémon League. Years ago, when humans first began interacting with Pokémon, move names were passed down over time. After the League was established, new moves were registered and announced to the public.

The purpose of the League is to help Trainers become more skilled by learning about such moves so they can try to practice them—though whether they succeed depends on the Trainer.

Professor Oak asked Ash about the name of the new move. Ash had trouble deciding, so he asked Professor Oak to come up with a name.

Professor Oak didn't hesitate and eventually named the move "Splishy Splash." It sounded quite playful, but it did seem stronger than the usual Surf. Ash didn't mind too much about the name—after all, there are plenty of other moves with more unusual names.

It was a bit tricky for Professor Oak to determine the move's type. Despite the electric element being involved, it was ultimately classified as a Water-type move and registered.

After the conversation with Professor Oak, Ash said goodbye and hung up the phone.

Turning to look around, Ash saw the Pokémon were still asleep. He walked over to the sofa and sat down beside Pikachu.

In his sleep, Pikachu's ears twitched slightly, but he didn't wake up. Ash gently stroked Pikachu's head, and Pikachu perked up his ears for a moment before relaxing again.

Before he knew it, Ash had drifted off to sleep on the sofa. Today, not only were the Pokémon tired, but Ash was also exhausted from using the power of bonds.

Misty watched the scene quietly and grabbed a blanket to cover Ash. That night, neither Ash nor the Pokémon stirred, all sleeping so deeply that they didn't bother Brock after dinner.

It wasn't clear when exactly it happened, but it wasn't until the next morning that Ash woke up.

Ash was still lying on the sofa, while the Pokémon that had been scattered around were now huddled close to him. The small sofa was crowded, but both Ash and the Pokémon had peaceful smiles on their faces.

For the first time, Professor Bill got up earlier than Ash. He could tell how exhausted they were from the previous day. Moving carefully, Bill rekindled the dying fire in the nearby fireplace, and the room immediately felt warmer.

Around 8:00 AM, Ash and the Pokémon woke up one by one. Normally, Ash would have been up by 5 or 6, but after a solid night's rest, he felt much better. The Pokémon, too, seemed full of energy. Brock and Misty invited Ash to join them and the Pokémon for breakfast.

The Pokémon rushed over eagerly, gobbling up their food. Ash, who hadn't eaten anything the night before, sat down with the others and began to enjoy the delicious meal.

"Professor, I've imposed on you for so many days. Thank you for your hospitality. We're planning to leave today," Ash said during breakfast, looking over at Professor Bill.

"Hehe, no need to thank me! I've really enjoyed having you all here these past few days. You're welcome to visit anytime if you have the chance," Professor Bill replied with a warm smile.

He didn't seem sad to see them go, knowing Ash and his friends had their own journey to continue. Bill had grown accustomed to living alone in the lighthouse, but spending time with Ash and the others had been a delightful change.

Hearing this, Misty and Brock also thanked Professor Bill for all his kindness and care.

After breakfast, the three of them returned to their rooms to pack up. It didn't take long. Ash had been practicing all week, and Misty and Brock had taken the time to rest. Soon, the trio stood outside the lighthouse, ready to leave. Professor Bill came out to see them off.

"Be careful on the road!" Professor Bill said simply, waving them goodbye.

"Oh, Professor, before we go, I have something for you. I hope it'll be of some use," Ash said, pulling a few photos from his coat pocket and handing them to Professor Bill.

Professor Bill glanced at the photos and then did a double take.

"This... this is!!"

In Ash's hand were photos taken near the lighthouse. In the dark night, the outline of an enormous figure was clearly visible. Bill's eyes widened in surprise as he realized what he was looking at.
