"What do you know!!" A.J. Rage yelled frantically. Misty felt a bit scared as A.J. Rage angrily threw his whip aside.

"Do you have any idea how much effort I've put in to achieve my goals and dreams? To win 100 battles in a row, leave this place, and travel the world to collect Badges? I don't even know how much sweat and tears I've shed, and now... now everything is shattered."

A.J. dropped the whip and clenched his fist unconsciously. Seeing this, Ash also released his grip on the whip, letting it fall to the floor.

"So that's why he set up gyms here!" Misty and Brock realized his motive—to build his streak of victories.

"I can understand that feeling, but I really can't agree with hurting Pokémon."

Brock, usually patient, couldn't stand by this time. As a former Gym Leader, he didn't reject strict training, but he believed the health of Pokémon should always come first.

"Pokémon always give more than we ask. If you want to challenge a gym, do it. But to demand 100 consecutive victories and then start over? If you lose, do you really think it's fair to blame the Pokémon? Aren't you ashamed?"

"You don't need to worry about it!" A.J. kept his head down after hearing Brock's words. He clenched his fists tightly, then shouted and ran out of the tent.

"Hey!!" Misty and Brock instinctively backed away as A.J. bolted towards the door. Vivi couldn't help but shout as he ran out.

Seeing this, the Pokémon in the tent also turned to look at A.J., including Sandshrew, who gazed worriedly after him. It seemed Sandshrew had never seen A.J. like this before and was at a loss. The failure had clearly hit A.J. hard.

"This guy is really irresponsible!" Misty muttered, while the other Pokémon looked confused. Only Sandshrew immediately followed A.J. despite its own injuries.

"You can tell he put a lot of effort into this place. These Pokémon are well-trained, and the feed must be top-notch. This must be a huge blow to him," Brock observed, glancing around. The training equipment seemed handmade but was intricately crafted. The care in raising these Pokémon was evident from their healthy bodies and shiny coats.

It truly is disheartening to invest so much effort and still fall short of your goals.

"What should we do now?" Misty asked, looking around. The Pokémon seemed worried, showing that despite the harsh treatment, they still cared about A.J.

"Let's go check on him."

Ash spoke up, and the three left the tent, only to find the wooden door outside open. A.J. and Sandshrew were nowhere to be seen.

They closed the door behind them and started searching nearby.

In fact, A.J. and Sandshrew hadn't gone far. A.J. had run into the jungle and accidentally tripped over a tree root, falling onto the grass in front of him.

"Damn! I'm really useless!!" A.J. muttered as he lay on the ground, not getting up immediately. He pounded the ground in frustration.

"Ah!!"

A voice suddenly sounded in his ears. A.J. paused, then slowly got up and turned to look behind him—it was Sandshrew.

But Sandshrew looked a bit worse for wear, not only still injured from the battle but also showing the marks of A.J.'s own harsh training.

Seeing Sandshrew in this state, A.J. was deeply moved. Ash's words echoed in his mind.

He couldn't help but turn his head away, his eyes reddening.

"That guy is right. Someone like me, who fails and then blames you all for my mistakes, doesn't deserve to be your Trainer. Sandshrew, let's go!"

Even though A.J. had already agreed with Ash's words deep down, he had stubbornly refused to admit it. But now, seeing the concern in Sandshrew's eyes filled him with shame. It was true that he had given a lot, but the Pokémon had worked even harder.

"Sandshrew..." A.J. whispered, his voice choked with emotion.

Sandshrew was shocked when it heard this and quickly moved closer to A.J., letting out a sad cry as if begging him not to give up. Just then...

"Since you don't want it, we'll take your Sandshrew!"

Boom!!!

A loud noise suddenly erupted, and a massive net sprang open behind them, ensnaring Sandshrew. Sandshrew was immediately wrapped up and instinctively began to struggle, but the net clung tightly to its body, making it impossible to break free.

A.J. turned in alarm when he heard the commotion, just in time to see Sandshrew being pulled away by the net.

"Sandshrew! Who is it??" Though he had just declared he wasn't worthy of being Sandshrew's Trainer, seeing his partner in danger filled him with worry.

"Since you ask, we'll tell you with pleasure!"

"I'll tell you mercifully!" As A.J. called out, the voices of a man and a woman suddenly echoed in his ears.

On a nearby tree, a man and a woman were reciting their usual entrance lines. The man, holding a bazooka-like tool with a rope attached to the muzzle, was dragging the net that had captured Sandshrew.

"We are Team Rocket, traveling the galaxy."

"Prepare for trouble!"

"And make it double!"

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

Jessie!

James!

"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light"

"Give up now or prepare to fight!"

Meowth, that's right!

"Damn it, what are you doing to my Sandshrew?" A.J. shouted angrily as he rushed forward.

"Huh? You just said you didn't want Sandshrew anymore, so we're just helping you out. We originally wanted Pikachu, but this Sandshrew will do nicely," the Team Rocket duo sneered, clearly pleased with themselves.

"Don't think you'll get away with this! Sandshrew, that net shouldn't be able to hold you—break free now!" A.J. shouted, urging Sandshrew to escape.

Normally, Sandshrew would easily have been able to free itself, but this time, despite its struggles, it just couldn't break free. As it was dragged away, it continued to struggle, but the net held firm.
