Kapitel 7: Chapter 7: Pokémon at Twilight

Heath was unaware of Brock's thoughts as he cheerfully saw him off after their purchase. He then tidied up his small food cart, ensuring it looked clean and presentable.

Heath paid a lot of attention to appearance. Often, customers care about hygiene as much as taste. A dirty kitchen versus a clean one makes a big difference.

Back on Earth, Heath once lost his appetite after inadvertently seeing someone's kitchen while eating out. Thus, he was meticulous about his kitchen's cleanliness.

After serving Brock, Heath was pleased with the reward he received.

[You served Brock and received a Full Restore (Go Version)]

Normally, Heath wouldn't care much about a Full Restore since they could be bought at a friendly store for 10,000 League coins. However, the game version of the Full Restore was special—it fully restored health and cured all status conditions, making it extremely useful.

"Leek!" Farfetch'd looked at Heath expectantly, wanting another go at making crepes and fried rice. But Heath firmly refused.

He had to conserve ingredients for his customers, or he'd have to close early.

"Heath, do you have fried rice and chicken legs today?" A frail voice interrupted Heath. He looked up to see an elderly man accompanied by a Charizard at twilight.

"Grandpa Majid, of course, but you might have to wait a bit," Heath recognized the old man and quickly set out a stool for him.

"Oh, you're always so kind, Heath. I'll have the usual," Majid said, smiling as he sat down.

Despite his age, with white hair and wrinkles, Majid looked spirited and walked with a straight back, not needing a cane. He was one of Heath's regulars.

Heath first served Grandpa Majid while he was selling breakfast. The old man bought a crepe, and from then on, he became a loyal customer.

Heath skillfully took out a frying pan and began preparing the food Majid ordered. This time, Heath used soft, freshly cooked rice, suitable for those with weaker teeth.

He also prepared the chicken leg similarly. He pulled out a soft-cooked chicken leg from the stew pot under his cart and placed it in the fried rice, serving it to Charizard.

Charizard gave a toothy grin. It was an aging Charizard, its skin no longer smooth but marked by time and old battle scars.

Charizard had lost most of its teeth, retaining only two fangs. The fried rice and chicken leg were never for Grandpa Majid himself.

Heath remembered Majid once asked why his crepes were so soft and delicious. Heath explained it was for people with dental issues, which pleased Majid. He then brought his old partner, Charizard, for Heath to prepare something for it.

That was Heath's first time cooking for a Pokémon, and he found it similar to cooking for humans. Charizard, being old with bad teeth, required softer food.

Watching the flames coming from Charizard's mouth and the slightly charred chicken leg, Heath shook his head helplessly. Charizard hadn't changed.

Despite its age, Charizard always breathed fire while eating, as if proving to its trainer it still had fight left in it. But Grandpa Majid always ignored this, much to Charizard's chagrin.

"You're getting old. Stop thinking about battles. I worry you'll throw out your back or break a bone," Grandpa Majid scolded Charizard.

"Roar~" Charizard whimpered as it ate, bickering with its trainer.

Heath smiled at the scene. In this world, besides Pokémon and some advanced technology, most things were similar to Earth.

People still had jobs. With breakfast time over, the streets of Viridian City quieted down, giving Heath a rare moment of peace.

[You served Charizard and received a TM for Fire Punch (disappears after use)]

Watching Charizard finish its meal, Heath pondered, surprised to receive a TM. He wondered if he might one day serve Mewtwo or Mew.

If so, could he get legendary moves? Moves like Precipice Blades and Roar of Time wouldn't be out of reach.

At that time, legendary Pokémon would seem like weaklings before Heath's Farfetch'd!

"Thank you, Heath. Here's the payment," Grandpa Majid left 25 League coins and slowly departed with Charizard.

Watching them bicker as they walked away, Heath found the old man endearing.

However, seeing Charizard's aging back and Majid's deliberately slowed pace, Heath sighed, wondering how much longer Charizard had left.

Since crossing over, Heath realized Pokémon in this world, like humans, also faced mortality. The Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town housed countless deceased Pokémon.

[Serve ten trainers to receive a random important clue]

Heath was startled by the task prompt. So, this cheat had missions too?

But it didn't seem too bad—no penalties or threats of erasure. Heath was pleased.

"Ten trainers, huh? The fastest way would be there, right?" Heath looked toward the Viridian City Gym. Currently, Giovanni was still a diligent Gym Leader.
