Kapitel 4: The Scrolls of Mastery

The next day, Asuma Sarutobi awoke with a renewed sense of purpose. The weight of his new abilities and the responsibilities they entailed filled his mind as he prepared for the day. His early morning routine was interrupted by a knock on the door. When he opened it, an anbu captain stood before him, his mask concealing his identity but not his presence as he sensed him with his enhanced senses and scanned him with his ability and got to know that he's Shinku Yuhi, the father of Kurenai Yuhi.

"I have some scrolls for you, Asuma," the anbu captain said, his voice steady and authoritative. "These scrolls contain techniques that you requested."

Asuma accepted the scrolls with a nod of gratitude.

"Thank you," Asuma said. "I will study these diligently."

Shinku nodded and flickered away after completing his task.

Asuma closed the door and spread the scrolls out on his table, examining the titles with a growing sense of excitement. The scrolls included techniques like the Summoning Technique, Shadow Clone Technique, and various advanced fire, wind, earth and water jutsus.

Asuma decided to start with the Shadow Clone Technique. Opening the scroll, he studied the instructions carefully. Thanks to his instant mastery skill, he learned it in seconds. He then moved on to the Summoning Technique. This jutsu was more complex, requiring intricate hand signs and a significant amount of chakra.

Determined to master it, Asuma concentrated his chakra and performed the hand signs. Almost immediately, he felt a massive drain on his chakra reserves. A puff of smoke enveloped him, and when it cleared, he found himself in an unfamiliar forest.

The air was thick with an intense, almost palpable energy. Asuma looked around and saw that the forest was covered with chakra-enhancing barriers. The guards, though humanoid in form, had the bodies of lions. The smallest among them was the size of Gamakichi in his larger form, while the largest was as enormous as the Nine-Tails.

One of the guard lions noticed Asuma and approached. "Follow me," it commanded in a deep, resonant voice. Without hesitation, Asuma followed, sensing that he was being taken to meet someone important.

They walked through the forest until they reached a massive clearing. At the center stood the largest lion Asuma had ever seen, its presence both regal and intimidating. The lion's golden mane shimmered in the sunlight, and its eyes bore the wisdom of countless battles.

The giant lion looked down at Asuma and spoke with a voice that seemed to resonate through the entire forest. "It is rare for a human to find their way here. State your purpose."

Asuma took a deep breath, his mind racing. "I attempted the Summoning Technique and was reverse summoned here. I seek to form a contract with your kind."

The lion's eyes narrowed, scrutinizing Asuma with an intense gaze. Suddenly, Asuma felt a wave of fatigue wash over him, and he collapsed to the ground, barely conscious.

When he regained his senses, the lion's demeanor had changed. "We are the Fengus Lions, known as the most formidable fighters. We use scythes as our weapons, and we possess the ability to nullify chakra-related attacks. We can fly, swim, and are renowned for our hellish fire techniques. To earn the right to summon us, you must pass a trial."

Asuma nodded, determined. "What is the trial?"

"You must fight one of our guard lions. If you can attack him at least once or defend against one of his attacks, you will pass."

A lion the size of Gamakichi in his larger form stepped forward, wielding a long scythe. Asuma steeled himself, ready for the challenge. He formed the hand signs for the Shadow Clone Technique, creating several clones to aid him.

The battle began in earnest. The guard lion was fast and agile, swinging its scythe with deadly precision. Asuma and his clones evaded the attacks, moving with the enhanced speed granted by his Sunshine ability at 10%. The clash of metal and the roar of the lion echoed through the forest.

For twenty seconds, Asuma fought valiantly, but the guard lion's prowess was formidable. Realizing he needed to change his strategy, Asuma leapt into the air, using his agility to gain height. As the lion followed, leaping after him, Asuma looked up and saw the sun at its peak. A surge of power coursed through him, and he called forth the Divine Axe Rhitta.

A golden axe appeared in his hands, its weight reassuring and its presence formidable. Asuma swung the axe to meet the lion's attack, and the clash created a shockwave that rippled through the clearing. The guard lion's attack was halted, its eyes widening in surprise.

The largest lion, observing the battle, showed a rare expression of surprise, followed by a smile. "You have passed the trial. You may now sign the contract with us."

Asuma placed the Divine Axe Rhitta down and signed the contract with a sense of accomplishment and joy. The largest lion continued, "We are different from other summon regions. You will be assigned a family of three lions – one big and two small. You can summon any lion, but it will depend on your chakra reserves."

Asuma met his assigned lion family:

Nian: The smallest lion, known for its agility and intelligence.

Nuwa: The second smallest lion, renowned for its speed and strategic thinking.

Yali: The largest lion, possessing immense strength and combat experience.

The biggest lion added, "If your lion family believes you can learn our skills and recommends you to me, you will be eligible to learn our Sage Mode. This mode grants you a chakra-nullifying scythe and enhances your physical abilities with techniques like the Hell Body Mode."

Asuma spent some time with Nian, Nuwa, and Yali, getting to know them and their unique abilities. After a while, he bid them farewell and returned home.
