Actually, Sora had also wondered about the severity of the lethal traps and had to get some help from Suna Jounins to decide.
They decided to keep the severity relatively dangerous for genins while subtly telling their genins that there would be traps during the process of moving to the test site.
However, only a few people seemed to have picked up on it.
Nonetheless, every Suna genin was told that this chunin exam would be different from the previous ones, and Konoha genin were already in a different environment, so they would be a bit careful.
Well, this all applies to people who aren't idiots.
For idiots, well, their teammates have to keep them in check as the death of any one of the teammates would lead to the elimination of the whole team.
"Wait, how are we even gonna battle anybody here without even knowing where the traps are?" Kiba's words made every one pause.
"Well, it would be all about making the other party go into uncharted territory where all the traps are not set off, with time most of the traps would be set off as these seals seem to be one-time use only," Hanabi said while jumping on the spot where Shino's insect clone was attacked with kunai.
"So, the traps would be a problem only in the beginning, huh," Kiba said while moving in a completely different direction.
Akamaru suddenly barked and Kiba jumped back.
In the spot where he had been standing a second ago, boiling hot water erupted from it.
He quickly took a few more steps back to avoid getting hit by the boiling water.
Who knows if the water is poisoned or not, so he had to look out for that too.
"I think we do have some time to dodge these after they've activated," Kiba said.
"You really are stupid," Ino deadpanned.
"If it works, it works," Kiba shrugged.
Was he reckless?
Well, in this scenario, they needed more information as they were running out of time as the sun was setting, so they needed to have a proper camp position different from this place before daylight was all gone.
With that, they started to move with help from Shino and Kiba.
Hinata and Hanabi soon joined as they could see with their byakugan if a trap was coming visually, unlike Kiba who was relying on Akamaru's dog instincts and capabilities.
Ino and Choji were the only ones who were just walking in their shadow and following the safe path.
Soon, they arrived at a stone clearing and the sun was gone.
"That definitely screams trap," Kiba said while pointing at a boulder with a scroll attached to the top.
"Maybe you should try to see which kind of trap it is by going first," Ino smirked.
"I am good," Kiba raised his hands in surrender.
He might be reckless and a bit stupid.
But he knows when to back down... at least most of the time.
Shino sent his bug clone, which directly flew there and took out the scroll.
"It can't be that easy, right?" Choji muttered.
Maybe the traps were only on the ground.
Ino's eyes along with the Hyuga sisters' widened.
They immediately started weaving hand seals.
Shino also followed suit a second later.
Ino dragged Choji with her and flickered backwards. Hinata dragged Kiba, and Hanabi flickered backwards alone, followed by Shino.
The area around where the rock structure and scroll were exploded with a loud bang.
The sound could be heard throughout the training ground; it was that loud.
"Madman, we almost died," Ino cursed.
"I'm sorry Kiba, I hope you're fine," Hinata apologized to Kiba as during the whole flickering he didn't have time to ready himself, unlike Choji, which led to him getting dragged on the whole ground.
"I'm fine, I used chakra as I dropped to protect my skin," Kiba sighed.
He was dragged on his back on the ground, so Akamaru was safe.
Choji along with Shino looked at the explosion site with sorrow on their faces.
The former's expression was clear, while the latter's was subtle and could only be identified by people who are close to him or know him well.
Shino was sad due to his insects dying.
Choji was sad due to his chips packet being dropped while getting dragged without notice.
"You will be missed," Choji said while opening a new packet and started eating.
Ino sweatdropped.
"Shino..."
"I am fine, their life span was not that long anyway; they were able to help me before they died," Shino said and turned back, completely rational again.
"We will have to change our location again due to this explosion giving away our position," Hanabi said helplessly.
"No, I don't want to move; who knows what other traps are there," Kiba whined.
Akamaru barked - no, whined in agreement.
"I want to have dinner," Choji said despite eating chips at the moment.
Ino sighed; she was tired.
"Well, we at least are safe," Hinata tried to point out the positive.
"I guess," Ino shrugged.
They moved again this time, luckily without any traps, and made camp.
They took turns scouting throughout the night.
And the morning came.
"Last time three similar explosions happened," Hanabi said during breakfast.
"I hope they rest in peace," Ino said, joining her hands similar to how people thank for food.
"You do know they could be from Konoha too," Kiba said with a sweatdrop.
Akamaru shook his head at the foolishness of these humans.
"I hope they survive," Hinata said in a low tone.
"It's rational to assume that they died as it's highly likely for that to happen as not every team has sensors, and they won't have enough time to inform everybody," Shino said while using the backside of his chopsticks to adjust his glasses.
He has a different kind of rizz.
"I wonder what happened to their food; I hope it survived," Choji prayed for the victims' food to survive; he doesn't like to see food getting wasted, let alone tasty food.
Hanabi was speechless at what to say.
"I-" Hanabi paused and activated her byakugan.
Hinata instinctively activated hers as she was already looking at Hanabi.
"We have company," Hanabi got up from her seat.
"Everyone does remember the area where the desert is not explored, right?" Ino also got up from her seat and asked for formality.
It was just a reminder of where to fight.
A lot of kunai in the next instant started raining on them.
A person could be seen on top of a stone holding the scroll from which kunai started coming.
Kiba and Akamaru did a fang over fang and deflected most of the kunai before they could even reach the group.
The guy jumped from the stone pillar, abandoning the scroll which was now releasing kunai towards the sky.
"What the fuck," the other Suna genins cursed.
"I will take care of it," a Suna girl said while weaving hand seals and blowing a wind jutsu on the projectiles, blowing them away.
The girl ducked in the next instant as an air shell passed through where her head was.
"What the hell, I thought they were easy pickings," the girl almost died; she was seeing the Hyuga little girl from her peripheral vision, so she had instinctively ducked when she felt a ball of wind coming towards her.
If she had been a moment late, she would currently have a hole in her head.
"I would take her on; that girl is dangerous," a boy said while looking at Hanabi.
"Don't die," the girl said while changing her position.
Hanabi was having none of that; she fired an air shell towards the girl, however to her surprise, the guy appeared in the path and deflected it with his hands.
Hanabi ducked and a kick passed through where her head was just a moment before.
'Fast,' Hanabi noticed that the guy had his eyes white and was kind of giving off a yellow aura.
"I always wanted to fight a Hyuga; kid, don't disappoint me."
"You are foolish to battle a Hyuga in close combat," Hanabi unleashed 32 Trigram Palms.
To her horror, the guy actually dodged it with ridiculous speed at such close range.
'Wait, he is glowing red like Lee who uses the Eight Gates technique,' Hanabi stopped her movement in one flow and retreated.
Suddenly a fire-wind combo rushed at Hanabi's retreat path, blocking her backward movement.
Hanabi cursed as she barely saw the guy's kick a few inches from her; she activated her rotation.
The feet clashed with a high-level chakra rotation.
However, Hanabi lost in this clash as her rotation didn't get enough time to reach high speed and was thrown backwards.
However, she didn't let the rotation end but rather increased her speed as she had to face a fire-wind combo.
Hanabi finally stopped at a stone pillar, getting embedded into it with the rotation finally stopping.
She started falling but immediately let the chakra on her back stick to the rock.
In the next instant, a kick was aimed at the position where she would have been if she had continued falling.
