Kapitel 7: Coming home

Ace spent an entire week immersed in countless adventures, roaming the island from east to west, eating its food and drinking its water.

He battled monsters and uncovered its hidden secrets. The experience was astonishing beyond all imagination, and fortunately, he found hot springs at the edges of the island.

With the sunset each day, he would go there to soak his tired body in its warm water, adhering to his late mother's advice.

Her kind words would return to his mind as if they were whispers from the past.

The rice balls that Garp made had an incredible taste; he would add pieces of meat or fish grilled over a gentle fire each night.

Ace felt like he was tasting food from paradise, with each bite carrying a blend of flavors that filled his mouth and warmed his soul.

Those meals added a touch of magic to his adventures, as if they opened doors to a new world full of surprises and secrets.

The days passed like a few minutes, and the week ended quickly; it was time for Garp to return to his work.

But Ace did not want to leave; he wished time would stop so he could stay longer, but the winds blow contrary to what the ships desire.

Garp told Ace that tomorrow would be their last day on the island. Ace was a little sad because he liked the island very much and the monsters he fought with every day to increase his strength.

He also made some friends with some of the animals he had defeated. When he found a monster he couldn't beat, he would call his friends from the forest animals, and they would form a team to defeat that monster.

Garp watched all this from a rock on one of the island's hills and laughed at how quickly Ace adapted to everyone.

Ace thought for a moment and whispered to himself: where will I go back to Dadan and the mountain bandits, none of whom understand him or become his friend? They only befriended him because he hunted for them every day and brought them meat to fill their stomachs.

If he had a friend or a group of friends there, he would have wanted to return badly.

On the last day for Ace and Garp on the island, Ace spent the whole day bidding farewell to his animal friends and promised them he would return someday to visit them.

He gathered as much as he could from the island's fruits and vegetables that grew there. Meanwhile, Garp spent that day repairing some of the ship's deck planks that needed replacement.

On the morning of the return day, Garp and Ace worked together to prepare the ship for sailing, and they sailed back to the Kingdom of Goa again.

Ace returned to his ordinary life. The ship sailed non-stop, and Ace felt he belonged to the sea.

Every wave that hit the ship and every fish that jumped out of the water made Ace feel like he belonged there.

He didn't try to think about it much, but he felt an unlimited freedom while sailing. Ace finally returned home, knocked on the door, and Dadan came out angry as usual.

When she opened the door and saw Ace, she was delighted, but her expression quickly changed.

"Hmm, you little brat, you're back again, how annoying," her words contradicted her true feelings.

Garp's cough from the other side made Dadan immediately stand at attention. "Garp-san, you're here too! Would you like something to eat?" Dadan asked, trying to be hospitable.

"No, I have other matters to attend to. Anyway, I'll leave Ace in your care again."

Then he turned to Ace, saying, "Ace, I'll be back to continue our training in the next vacation. Remember this, you must become an excellent Marine."

After conveying his final words to Ace, who was smiling at him, he returned to the ship and sailed back to the Navy headquarters.

Watching Garp disappear from view made Dadan feel a profound happiness as if the devil had left her alone.

Ace entered the house, and he first took a hot bath to remove the fatigue of the long journey.

After relaxing in the warm bath, Ace emerged feeling rejuvenated. He sat in the kitchen to find Dadan preparing a simple meal.

Despite her rough exterior, her movements carried a kind of hidden tenderness. She gave him a quick look and said, "Eat, I don't want you to get sick after that long journey."

Ace smiled and started eating. The meal was delicious despite its simplicity.

The atmosphere in the house was different from the island, but he felt a sense of safety here too.

As he ate, he thought about everything he had gone through over the past week: the battles, the new friends, and the promises he had made.

After dinner, Ace sat near the window, looking at the star-filled sky. He knew that the challenges awaiting him were great, but his adventures on the island had given him the confidence and strength to move forward.

He was excited to start his training with Garp again and see what the future held for him.

When he saw Garp's power, he thought a lot about increasing his training. Maybe he could become like that in the future.

That night, Ace slept peacefully, surrounded by the safety of the home and the echoes of his adventures in his mind.

He knew that his true journey toward achieving his dreams had just begun and that the island was merely the beginning of greater and more magnificent adventures in the future.
