"Alpha King, these are normal thoughts. I am not willing to tell Alice anything, and I do not mind working in town." Tessa answered. 

"The witches are attempting to kill you, and I will not allow you to work out of my sight. That witch is not someone a few guards can stop," he insisted, his gaze also becoming strict.

 "Then follow me to town when I start going for inspection," she said, and he became silent, unable to accept the suggestion. He wouldn't mind protecting her, but appearing in town now would jeopardize Rio's plan. 

If they were going to make the rumor believable, he would have to act his part well by staying in the castle and acting like a cowardly king. 

"I can't leave the castle now, there is something Rio..." Cutting him off, she said, Why worry when you can't protect me either? I am sure the guards will be able to leave the castle."
