Kapitel 26: Chapter 26: Breaking Dao

"You mean… this is it?"

There was a sense of disbelief slowly crawling through Charlotte's neck as she stared at the pill in front of her. She was just holding it, but she already knew just from holding it that it had an exaggerated level of purity.

"Yes, as per your request," Lucian only glanced at Charlotte's awed face for a few seconds; a hint of a smile, very subtly escaping his lips upon seeing her expression. But of course, it did not really last long as his face turned completely stoic again and he started looking around, "Where is the rest of the payment, Ms. Hall Master?"

"Wh—you didn't really expect me to expect you to finish it today, did you?" Charlotte woke up from her stupor, only to see a look of disappointment and disapproval on Lucian's stoic face… there might actually even be a hint of disgust there, it was hard to tell, "Wait… we need to test it first, and if it works, I'll pay you."

"Okay," Lucian nodded, "Then test it now, Ms. Hall Master."

"...Now?" Charlotte's eyes widened as she looked at the pill.

"Yes," Lucian nodded.

"I… trust your skill, Dr. Lucian," Charlotte gulped and started looking around again, "But… we're in public."

"What difference does that make, Ms. Hall Master?"

"That—are you sure there are no side effects?" Charlotte breathed out.

"Did you want there to be?" Lucian tilted his head.

"No, it's just—okay. I trust you," Charlotte then let out a short but very deep breath; closing her eyes before just putting the pill inside her mouth without any hesitation.

"!!!" And she truly did not expect this sensation at all. She hasn't even swallowed it yet, and she could already feel her lith going wild and even increasing.

And before she could even swallow, the pill just burst into her mouth; lathering onto her tongue as it just melted without any resistance at all.

"Hnh…" Charlotte covered her mouth to prevent any of the juices from leaking out her pink lips; her face, almost completely turning red. And very soon, her neck started to tingle as she felt the juices flowing deeper into her as she swallowed,

"It's… it's slightly salty. But… but there's a sort of sweetness to it too...

Hnn..."

"Yes," Lucian nodded.

"And the purity… it's at 100%...!?"

"I should confess that I am completely unaware of this purity you speak of, Ms. Hall Master," Lucian shook his head, "It is either the pill is successful, or it is not."

"When is—!!!" And before Charlotte could finish her words, she felt a rush suddenly explode throughout her entire body, causing her back to just arch back and her breasts to bounce.

"Ha…" A small but very loud moan escaped Charlotte's lips as she gripped the sofa; completely shredding the foam as she could not help but curl her toes and fingers from the sudden burst of warmth.

The warmth was violent, but it was comfortable even more so.

"..." And throughout all of this, Lucian was just looking at her with his eyes completely dead.

"Ha…" But finally, after a few more trembles in her body, she started to calm down; quickly looking at her hands while trying her best to control her heavy breaths,

"...Doctor… Dr. Lucian, I… I jumped to the Infant Grandmaster level…?"

"I suppose so, Ms. Hall Master," Lucian shrugged, "But it should only be temporary as requested."

"Dr. Lucian… I… I don't think you understood my request."

"I did not?" Lucian blinked.

"I… I was only requesting for a temporary increase in stage," Charlotte's heavy breaths could not be contained anymore.

"I am confused. That is what the pill did, did it not?"

"No…" Charlotte shook her head, "...It jumped an entire level, Dr. Lucian. I'm in the middle stages of Infant Master and it just… grandmaster…"

"That is not the same thing?" Lucian blinked in confusion, "I would re-synthesize it, then."

"No!" Charlotte stood up, causing Lucian's entire body to almost be blown away if it wasn't for the fact that he was seated, "This… it's too much. But… but with this, forget about being an Elder, my dad might even be seated as the sect's Grand Alchemist."

"Okay."

"Are… you really sure we can take credit for this?" Charlotte gulped.

"That is included in what you paid for and the contract, Ms. Hall Master."

"The payment, it… I don't think it would be enough," Charlotte stepped to the side, but with her completely not used to her temporary increase of strength, she almost tripped — which could have actually accidentally destroyed the entire floor.

"Just pay me already, Ms. Hall Master."

"R… right. Right. The formula… where's the formula…?"

"I wrote it there."

Charlotte quickly looked to where Lucian was pointing, only to see the handkerchief she had just carelessly dropped on the sofa.

"You—!!!" Charlotte quickly rushed to get the handkerchief, completely destroying the sofa in the process, "Why did you just—ugh…"

Charlotte wanted to say a lot of bad words, but calmed herself down as she unfolded the handkerchief and started reading the formula and ingredients.

"Wh…" Charlotte looked back and forth between the handkerchief and Lucian, "...There are drawings."

"Yes," Lucian nodded.

Charlotte truly wanted to ask Lucian if he was a child, but refrained herself from doing so — but still, it truly looked like it was made and scribbled by a kid. Even drawing the flasks… and even the fire.

Of course, Charlotte chose to ignore it as she just went ahead and read the ingredients.

"You… put sugar?"

"For the flavor, Ms. Hall Master," Lucian nodded.

"...Right. Well… it was weirdly tasty," Charlotte sighed, "And it even melted in the mouth too."

"For easy consumption."

"...Right, I liked it," Charlotte nodded before subtly puttering her lips and clicking her tongue to savor the leftover taste, "Hm? This T28 Drop, it's the first time I'm encountering it. What… is it?"

"It is produced exclusively in my lab, Ms. Hall Master," Lucian nodded confidently,

"It is rat stool."

"Rat… stool?" Charlotte smiled at Lucian, hoping she misheard.

"Yes, rat poop," Lucian nodded again, "I also did not think you would like it so much, Ms. Hall Master."

"You—Aghhhh!" Charlotte then just grabbed one of the throw pillows on Lucian's sofa and screamed at it; her wails, whispering through the entire Association for more than a minute.

As soon as she calmed down, however, she instantly returned to her professional look.

"Dr. Lucian," Charlotte cleared her throat as she looked Lucian in the eyes; the tone of her voice, extremely serious, "You truly are the man I believed you to be—no. You are even more. Just… you're a monster but in a very good and magical way."

"That is the first time I have been described that, Ms. Hall Master."

"Dr. Lucian…" Charlotte took in a very long and deep breath, "...Let's work together. I thought about this, but I don't think anyone could replicate what you did."

"...But I wrote the formula already. And most of the ingredients are just scraps, Ms. Hall Master."

"Let's work together," Charlotte looked Lucian in the eyes again,

"You create the pills, and my sect will distribute it — I will make sure to hide your identity, no matter what it takes. We'll sign a lith contract again, and I'll include my dad in it."

"Y—"

"I don't know why, but I know you need a lot of money — a lot," Charlotte did not let Lucian speak,

"And you will earn all of that and more if you work with me."

"..." Lucian remained quiet and looked to the side, "We are still currently in a lith contract, correct?"

"Yes — until you receive my payment. But we will make a new—"

"And you will die if you break the current contract?" Lucian then stood up.

"Yes…?"

"And you trust me with your life?"

"...Yes?"

"Then let us proceed to my home, Ms. Hall Master," Lucian then walked away,

"I will show you why I need to earn a lot of money."
