Kapitel 112: Goodbye
Alex started running into the forest and toward his house, he had of course not forgotten to remove his shoes.
'I do not want to go through the hassle of buying another pair' Alex thought as he ran whilst holding the shoes in his hands.
The run was quick and soon enough he could see the woods surrounding his house.
'What do I tell Charlie and Bella? That I'm just going to be gone for three months?' Alex thought and sat down on a rock nearby.
'I could do this easily by just using daze on then but that just doesn't seem right. Bella is already scared of me, if I use daze and she somehow finds out later then it's going to be one hell of a crash Alex thought as he rubbed his forehead.
*sigh*
Releasing one long sigh Alex got up.
'I'll just tell them I'm going to explore to world and just travel, school ends next week so I won't have to worry about that. My grades are already done.' Alex thought as he decided against lying to Bella and Charlie.
Putting his shoes on, Alex started walking slowly to his house.
It was still early in the morning, so Alex decided not to rush in immediately. Thankfully, because he was so early, Charlie would still be there and hadn't gone to work just yet.
After about half an hour of walking Alex finally arrived at his house.
Walking up the stairs, he opened the front door and headed inside.
The time was six am in the morning.
Inside the living room, Alex heard the sound of the morning news on the television.
Just as he had thought, Charlie was already awake and ready for work.
Taking off his shoes, he put them in the drawer and headed into the living room.
"Hey Dad, good morning," Alex said as he gave the man a wave.
Charlie had already turned to face him by the time he had come into the living room.
"Good morning son, you're back so early?" Charlie said and questioned as he looked at Alex confused.
"Doctor Carlisle offered to drop me off whilst he headed to work," Alex said as he lied through his teeth, his face showed no indication of the lie, after many tries he had finally gotten rid of the habit he had of rubbing the back of his neck whilst lying.
"Oh, that's nice of him. Do you want to eat anything? There's some pica left over from yesterday" Charlie said as he motioned to the kitchen with his head.
Alex shook his head and walked to the couch, sitting next to Charlie.
"There's something I have to tell you, about a trip I'm planning," Alex said as he faced Charlie.
Charlie nodded his head telling him to continue.
"I'm planning on going around and visiting some cities and just exploring for this summer until the next year of school starts and I just wanted to tell you," Alex said as he looked at the police chief.
Charlie didn't react for a moment and even when he did his voice was calm.
It was strange to Alex, much too different from how his previous life parents would have reacted.
"Alright Alex, you can go on the trip but have you prepared? Do you have a car to go there, where will you be staying, do you have enough money? If you don't just tell me and I'll help you out." Charlie said to Alex as he nodded his head.
Alex didn't reply for a moment, caught off guard by what Charlie had said.
'Just like that?' Alex thought and then he finally gave Charlie a nod.
"I'll be going by bus to most places so I don't need a car and it will be cheaper too, as for where I'm staying I've called hotels and they said they would be open. And yeah I have enough money Dad though thanks for asking." Alex answered each question Charlie had put forward with a smile.
"When will you go?" Charlie asked as he turned to switch the TV program.
"Today, I'll just be going to school to ask for a leave for this week first and then directly take the bus to Port Angels. I already booked a hotel for tonight there" Alex answered as he turned to look at the TV as well.
The weather forecast showed that it was looking to be a sunny day today.
'Seems like they're going hiking today' Alex thought jokingly to himself.
"Well I'm going to pack up my things upstairs, I'll call you when I'm on the bus," Alex said as he turned and gave Charlie a hug.
Charlie was a bit awkward but hugged him back as well.
"Alright Alex, and if you ever need anything just give me a call, and ill come wherever you are okay?" Charlie said as he parted the hug.
His voice showed that he was sad but also wasn't going to hold Alex back from what he wanted to do.
"Alright Dad," Alex said as he started walking up the stairs.
'You're an awesome dad, Charlie, more than I deserve' Alex thought with a smile on his face.
"I'll be heading to work now too, goodbye Alex," Charlie said as well and got up, heading to the front door.
"Goodbye!" Alex said from the top of the stairs.
Turning around, Alex walked into his room and stood still for a moment.
"A lot has happened since I first woke up in here huh" Alex mumbled as he looked around the room.
'Enough reminiscing, let's just get ready' Alex thought and started to get some clothes out of his closet.
After about an hour, he had packed his backpack with enough clothes and daily needs stuff like his toothbrush.
Slinging his backpack, Alex walked out of the room. He didn't look back this time.
Bella had already awoken a few minutes ago and was downstairs.
