Kapitel 16: Chapter 16: Hansu Seong's Point of View and New Faces at the High School

Hansu Seong's POV

"I've always been proud of my boy Suho, and even if he says he doesn't want me as a father, I see him as a son," I say in front of my glass of soju, a traditional alcoholic drink.

"Then why do you look so glum when talking about him?" Kim declares, taking a sip of his drink.

"Recently, he's just become different and he's closing himself off," I say simply, avoiding talking about the blood on him.

"I don't have a son at home, and my daughter isn't the same age as Suho, so I can't be of much help," Kim states, silently taking another glass.

Indeed, Kim doesn't have any sons, like all my acquaintances actually.

"Yes, you're right," I say, observing my reflection in the alcohol.

"I should probably apologize for kicking his ass," I say in a low voice.

"You kicked his ass??" Kim asks. I can hear in his voice that he was disconcerted by my action.

"Yes, I had been summoned to his high school because he had broken both legs of a student," I say calmly.

There was a silence between us before Kim finally opened his mouth.

"I think you should have a good conversation with him," he says, standing up.

"I forget, I remind you that we were wilder than him at his age, so be more lenient," he says before leaving.

"Be more lenient and have an open conversation with him, huh?" I mutter, looking at the ceiling.

I ended up leaving late from the small street restaurant. I feel like I'll have trouble giving taekwondo lessons tomorrow.

Recently, I've had some promising elements in the dojang: Joonwoo and Myeong Seong.

Both are talented, but I can see that Myeong Seong isn't really a good person. I should try to guide him on the right path with the help of taekwondo.

After all, our motto is: Integrity, Perseverance, Self-control, and Courage.

"I'm sure he can change his nature," I tell myself as I walk.

On the other hand, Joonwoo really has too low self-esteem. I wonder what he's been through to end up like this.

I'm sure he'll change by mingling with the other students at the dojang, and he should regain some self-confidence by facing other taekwondo practitioners.

As I think about all this, I finally arrive home.

I could see Suho's shoes at the entrance. It seems he came home earlier than yesterday.

"Our discussion will be for another day, Suho."

...

Yu Ijin's POV

[I'm going home alone today, take this opportunity to make some friends], message from Dayeon.

"Friends?" I say in a low voice, glancing at Suho's currently empty seat.

"Hi, Ijin," says Yeongchan before sitting next to me.

"I see you're always as early as ever," he says, visibly in a good mood.

"Hi," I say simply.

I still have trouble communicating with the students at this high school but, strangely, I express myself more easily with Suho Kang.

"Uh... Ijin, are you free after classes?" he asks, clearly uncomfortable. It seems the situation isn't easy for him either.

"I have nothing planned," I say honestly. Unfortunately, Dayeon doesn't want me to walk her home today.

"Really? Then maybe we should hang out together..." He wanted to say something more, but he was interrupted by another student from our class named Hyeokin Ju.

"Yo, Ijin," declares Hyeokin Ju, accompanied by the student who had tried to trip me when I arrived in class.

"I heard you're close to that guy, Suho Kang," he says as he sits down.

"Saying we're close would be an exaggeration, but we're actually friends," I say. My words seemed to agitate the people present in the class.

"I'm thinking, we're in the same class, but we haven't really gotten to know you or Suho, right, Lee Jaehyung?" he says to his friend.

"Indeed, we haven't talked much with Suho and the new guy," declares Lee Jaehyung, agreeing with him.

"What if we went out as a group after classes? I'll pay for the meal," he proposes with a smile.

"Thank you very much, but Yeongchan has already invited me," I politely refuse the offer.

"It's not a problem, we can have fun together," declares Hyeokin Ju, leaning towards Yeongchan.

"That's true, what do you think, Yeongchan?" declares Lee Jaehyung, looking at Yeongchan with a strange gaze.

"Yes... yes, why not," declares Yeongchan in a nervous tone. It seems he's not used to talking with others besides me.

"Then it's perfect, we should also invite Suho to come," says Hyeokin Ju.

"You're right," I say, agreeing with him. After all, he is my first friend in this place.

"Silence!" says the teacher loudly to stop the whispers. Strangely, she was accompanied by two students I had never seen before.

"Sorry for the disturbance, but I think I'm on time, right?" declares Suho, who arrived a few seconds after the teacher. He was slightly sweaty.

He must have hurried not to be late.

"Oh, new faces and an interesting guy," says Suho in a slightly surprised tone, observing the two students next to the teacher, before looking longer at the boy next to the girl.

It seems he has found another target to tease for a fight.

...

Suho Kang's POV

"Damn, you should have woken me up," I say as I leave the house.

"You had locked your room door," declares Taehoon in uniform, eating breakfast.

"Have a good day!" shouts Hansu behind me as I leave in a hurry.

After a quick run, I was able to reach the school before they closed the gate.

"I should really buy a bike, no, a motorcycle is better," I say, thinking in the hallway.

Speaking of bikes, does Wind Breaker

exist in this universe?

"Sorry for the disturbance, but I think I'm on time, right?" I say, looking at the teacher. Surprisingly, there were new faces next to her.

"Oh, new faces and an interesting guy," I express, slightly surprised.

I knew they would appear, but I didn't really know when. I've already started to modify the events of the manhwa and currently, it's been years since I read it.

"Stop trying to be the center of attention and go take your seat," declares the teacher.

I nodded and went to sit down. As I head towards my spot, the teacher began to introduce the two people next to her.

"You probably all know them, but it's possible that some don't," says the teacher, glancing at me.

"I'll introduce them to you: they are Yeong Shin and Seokju Go," she says, indicating them respectively.

"They studied for two years in the United States and have returned to finish their schooling here," she finishes explaining before motioning for them to take their seats.

"Who are they?" asks Yeong Shin to the boy who is Seokju Go, after taking her seat.

"I don't know about the other one, but the boy who came in late is Suho Kang, an extremely talented student," declares Seokju.

"You two, don't you know it's rude to talk about people behind their backs?" I say, looking at the duo.

"Do you know who you're talking to?" asks Seokju in a clearly hostile tone.

"Yes, to two people who are talking behind my back," I say, smiling at him.

I was curious to see the strength of a person who, like me, has trained since a young age, but I can tell thanks to my eyes of misfortune that he is clearly weaker than me.

He just has too many flaws and almost nothing that could bring me misfortune if I attack now.

"Stop it, Seokju. I'm sorry for talking behind your back," she says in an apologetic tone.

"That's better," I say, nodding satisfactorily, before starting my little nap.

"Are you sure he's a talented high school student and not a delinquent?" whispers Yeong Shin to Seokju after a few hours during Suho's nap.

"I assure you he has always had a 100% score in all activities, both sports and academics," declares Seokju in a low voice.

Seokju couldn't help but frown at the idea that Suho was, on paper, better than him.
