Kapitel 42: Carrie Walton Penner

Carrie Walton Penner has a sophisticated presence, often wearing large sunglasses that cover half of her beautiful face, giving her an aura of mystery. Due to recent business in London, her hair is slightly curled, and she is tall and striking. Despite her wealth and status, she exudes a lively and passionate demeanor typical of an English girl.

Carrie and Levi first met on an airplane to the USA, and since then, they have maintained regular contact.

Then pretty much become a friend

---

"Why are you here?" Levi wasn't too surprised now.

Carrie Walton Penner was right. He was in a bad mood.

"I was on a business trip, and I heard you say that you would come to London before. If you have some free time, come to see the team you work for. I didn't expect that you could still be in the coach seat. Are you the head coach of the team?" Carrie came to Levi and asked with interest.

Levi shook his head. "The head coach should be in the locker room now!"

Carrie gave a mischievous pout, which looked very charming. "Then you must be an ordinary team coach. I heard people say that only coaches can go to the coach seat."

Levi did not answer, nor did he deny it. He just moved forward.

"Frankly, this is the first time I have watched a full game, you know? I have watched games before, but generally, I haven't watched for more than ten minutes. I didn't think a ball game was that interesting, but this time I was surprised to watch the whole field, right?"

Levi gave a random hum and continued to move forward.

The two came to the street near Highbury Stadium. Since it is not the core of London's urban area, there was not much traffic.

At the bus station, there were already many fans waiting for the bus.

Although there are subway stations near Highbury Stadium, usually at this time, the subway is very crowded.

Levi was sitting in the shed, waiting quietly, watching the people getting on one by one, and then he did not know how long it took until the whole site left him and Carrie.

"This game ... we lost!" Levi broke the silence.

Carrie sat next to him, patting the back of his hand comfortingly. She knew nothing about the game, so she couldn't understand what was going on at all, but knew that the final score was 2:1, with Arsenal winning.

"We were unwilling to lose, you know?"

Levi's excited expression surprised Carrie, but when she thought Levi was going to be furious, he sighed deeply, "But what can you do if you don't want to? If you lose, you can't change it, can you?"

Carrie looked at Levi with a little surprise. This was the first time she saw Levi's weak side. When they had met before, Levi was always full of self-confidence, as if nothing could bring him down.

But now, Levi seemed as if the sky was falling!

She had no say in football, so she could only listen quietly.

"More than half a year ago, I had an ambitious thought that I could manage a club. But in reality? After more than half a year, I really found out how difficult it is. It's not just about having the heart and the enthusiasm. It's much more complicated."

"Then ... it's better if you quit your job, don't be a football coach!" Carrie suddenly said.

Levi froze, "What shall I do then?"

"Actually, I wanted to ask you a long time ago. I don't have an assistant here. I need someone I can trust. If you want, you can start working for me right away."

"Being your assistant?" Levi laughed.

"Really, I can pay you more than the football club. I genuinely believe you can help me. At the same time, you are also a trusted friend!" Carrie's face was calm.

Levi shook his head. If he didn't do football, he would choose to start an investment company, pursue hot investment projects, or venture capital, make a lot of money, and then buy an island in the Caribbean to live freely.

Oh, and marry a few beautiful wives and have a football team ...

"Oh, my God, it's football again!" Levi slammed his forehead hard, realizing it was difficult to leave football behind.

"I'm serious, Levi, think about it."

Levi shook his head without thinking, "Do you know what my salary is now at the club?"

Carrie shook her head.

Levi made a zero gesture with his right hand. "I haven't received a penny from the club."

Of course, how can a boss take a salary from his own company?

Carrie was startled. "So what do you live on?"

"Living on CSSA." Levi put on a smiley face.

In fact, he would not allow his weak side to appear in front of friends, especially female friends, if it wasn't for his bad mood.

"I don't believe you at all!" Carrie pushed him a little.

Levi stood up from his seat, "You don't believe it? Then, Londoner, you should do your best to help a guest!"

"What do you mean?" Carrie followed.

"Take me to the sights of London. Go wherever it's fun. In short, let's have a good night out, and then I'll return to Manchester!"

"You really don't think about me..." Carrie wanted to argue.

But Levi grasped her shoulders with both hands and pulled her over, urging her to lead the way, and then pushed her forward.

"You are really good, businesswoman. I don't think I can live without football unless you are willing to accept someone who can only do one-tenth for you, or one-hundredth, to do things for you." Levi said laughingly.

Carrie suddenly stopped, turned her face a little, and nodded, "That's all right!"

Levi froze and then laughed, " businesswoman, I don't see how humorous you really are, that's all right, let's negotiate as soon as possible to see how this salary and work hours will be counted."

After speaking, Levi couldn't help but push Carrie forward.

There are many attractions in London, but Levi's thoughts were not there, so no matter what they saw, it felt average.

A bowl of instant noodles and a steak, everyone knows the latter is better. But when instant noodles appear when you are starving, they seem better than steak. And when steak appears when you are full, it feels harder to swallow than instant noodles.

Sometimes people are so strange and elusive!

Although it was only the second time that Levi and Carrie had met, it seemed to Levi that they were friends who had known each other for a long time, probably because they usually talked more on the phone.

Since talking day and night on Christmas, the two have called each other whenever they had time. Sometimes they talked for hours, discussing topics that were not very interesting, but they were just happy talking.

"Do you know? I think you look familiar to me... like I've seen you on TV!"

Sitting in an open-air cafe on the banks of the Thames, under a large umbrella, watching the Thames under the lights,

"Really?" Carrie had a look of surprise. "Me too, I think you also look familiar!"

After that, she couldn't help laughing.

"I am serious. Have you been on TV?"

Carrie snorted and quickly covered her mouth. After a while, she calmed down, "I might have been on TV!"

"Oh, what do you mean might? I think you must be some famous person?" Levi was very curious about Carrie.

Carrie giggled, clearly amused.

"Well, yes, I never asked you, how old are you this year?" Levi looked at the Thames and asked casually.

Carrie almost fell over laughing. "Hasn't anyone told you that a woman's age is absolutely confidential?"

Levi froze and immediately remembered that his mother had taught that asking a woman "How old are you?" was a big social taboo. He didn't expect to commit it.

"I don't know what you said? Didn't I test you? As a result, you see, I found out!" Levi was stubborn, refusing to give in.

"Then you say, what did you find out?" Carrie was not convinced.

"I've heard survey data from an authoritative organization in an authoritative magazine. When a woman of the opposite sex asks a woman's age, 95% of women under 25 will tell their age, and 95% of women over 25 will tell their age."

Carrie listened carefully.

"And the 5% of those under 25 who refuse to say their age mostly look much older than their actual age, so they dare not say it; in turn, the 5% of those over 25 who say their age mostly look much younger than they really are, which makes them proud."

"So what?" Carrie's expression was exactly, "What do you want to say?"

Levi smiled, "So, you have two possibilities. If you are less than 25 years old, you belong to that 5%, and if you are over 25 years old, you belong to that 95%."

"Oh, do you always insult me?" Carrie sneered.

"It's not too old. At least if you put on makeup and dress up, you can still get on the cover of a magazine, but you have to be careful on the streets on weekdays."

"Why?" Carrie didn't realize it was a trap. She didn't have as many twists and turns as Levi.

"If you accidentally frighten your neighbors, that's not good!" Levi said earnestly.

Carrie was so angry she couldn't help but laugh, finally having the upper
