Kapitel 24: [24] Starburst Stream

After gathering the mushrooms, the dungeon absorbed the plasma, leaving the corridors once splattered with red paint-like substance to return to their original state. Aiden then took out another pouch, beginning to collect the magic stones dropped by the goblin horde.

Squatting on the ground, Aiden picked up the magic stones while contemplating his recent battle. "Indeed, goblins are too weak to pose any threat to me and too disgusting as well."

"But this endless stream of them is not exactly an adjective. Except for the Monsterphilia, I've never seen anything like this in the anime. What's going on? Fortunately, there's still some gain from this. At least, I've become more decisive in my actions and can control the force of my sword better."

"But... I truly envy the Nero with the Red Queen now. All that blood, all that slime, would turn to ash under the flames of the Red Queen at its third stage of charge."

"The Sword Princess's Ariel is pretty good too. It wraps her in wind, boosting attack, defense, speed, and short-distance flight. It enhances her abilities while also having a cleaning effect. Truly a must-have skill for everyday life and travel. Was the first grimoire really used to learn this magic?"

Due to the small size of the magic stones dropped by the goblins and their widespread distribution, even Aiden couldn't pick them up very quickly. "Having a supporter around is definitely necessary. I'll go find one tomorrow. Squatting and picking up magic stones is too inefficient and seriously undermines my style."

Finally, Aiden picked up the last magic stone and put away the small bag. Looking at the armor on his body, now dyed red with goblin blood, his once silver-white armor became blood-red. He chuckled at himself, "Luck is on my side. At least, my clothes aren't soaked."

Without magic power and unable to use the magnetic back, Aiden had to tie it with a rope to his back to avoid dirtying the scabbard.

There's still time, so let's continue to be happy.

As the heavily stinking Aiden made his way to the third floor, the previously quiet dungeon seemed to stir up, like male animals in spring without finding suitable female counterparts, began to become restless.

The walls on both sides boiled like hot water, and the story of the second floor was about to replay here.

Sounds of something being squeezed out from the closed, moist cavities resounded on both sides ahead. The walls on both sides slowly split open... several creatures with wolf heads emerged from the walls and finally dropped to the ground.

These creatures had dog heads, red eyes, fur-covered bodies, sharp teeth, claws, and muscular build, resembling the archenemies of vampires... the werewolves. They were the other novice mentors alongside goblins in the dungeon. However, armed with sharp teeth and claws and muscular bodies, they appeared stronger than goblins.

"Lots of hair means weak to fire; heavy armor means vulnerable to thunder; large body means weak to concentrated attacks and in the groin... Oops, wrong script. Hello there, werewolf classmates." Aiden beckoned to the group of kobolds.

To Aiden's surprise, the kobolds, devoid of any reason, actually responded. With nothing but a bloodthirsty desire for slaughter, they raised their claws, charging towards Aiden with a tragic, death-defying aura.

However, it was all in vain. As novice mentors at the same level as the goblins, they were just as incapable as the goblins of withstanding Aiden's casual swordplay. With a tight grip on Durandal in his right hand, he unleashed a horizontal slash.

The blade streaked with a crimson light, as if slicing through a medium-rare steak.

"Every inch counts." It isn't just a saying. With Aiden's height of 175 centimeters and Durandal's 90-centimeter blade, the kobolds, armed with nothing but their short arms, couldn't even reach his effective attack range before the blade struck.

Retracting Durandal, Aiden leaped forward, and in the next moment, the kobolds' necks were like burst dams, blood gushing out as if it were free. They watched their bodies turn to dust, a few magic stones hitting the ground.

"Well done, no blood splatter this time." Feeling the slightest improvement, Aiden whistled cheerfully.

As if provoked by Aiden's carefree whistle, the walls on both sides split open again, continuously sending creatures into this corridor.

The newly born kobolds and goblins roared in anger as they hit the ground, raising their weapons or claws, and challenging Aiden.

"Is this a mixed doubles match? My bad. But... why are you yelling so loud? Do you think you're Natsu or Asta?" Feeling very much in character as a hunter from Lord of Mysteries, Aiden issued another challenge, planting Durandal into the ground as if he had an air guitar in his hands, beginning to play. "Come on!"

The indignant goblins and kobolds surrounded Aiden, attempting to overpower him with sheer numbers.

Faced with the encirclement of goblins and kobolds, Aiden remained calm and composed, a mocking smile still playing on his lips. "Shall we dance?"

Although of different lengths, Aiden, spurred on by the moment, drew out his backup Roman-style short sword. With Durandal in his right hand and the Roman short sword in his left, he recalled the dual-sword technique of Vergil in the Devil May Cry 4 special edition.

Due to his hazy memory and his lack of swordsmanship skills, he could only mimic the moves.

The right-handed sweeping slash with Durandal, followed by a leftward cut, a horizontal slash forming a circle, then stepping forward with both legs, lunging forward, both swords striking together, crossing left and right with consecutive slashes. Then, leaping into the air, utilizing the power of his legs, the dual swords transformed into a graceful yet deadly circle in the sky, culminating in a powerful and forceful overhead strike as a perfect punctuation mark.

Limbs flew, blood sprayed, each sword light exuded a murderous aura, each swing carried immense force, each strike sent several monsters back to their maker. Every slash flowed smoothly like running water, its speed like the wind, its force like thunder, perfectly blending Vergil's strength and speed, violence and elegance.

This was the Starburst Stream Slash of Dual Swords.

In the blink of an eye, all the goblins and kobolds in the corridor were beheaded, cut in half, or shattered. With the efficiency of a meat grinder, amid the frenzy of slaughter, blood splattered everywhere. Aiden was not just clad in armor; his entire body was drenched in blood, his silver hair unavoidably dyed red.
