Kapitel 34: Half Successful

When Yato intentionally reduced his chakra output, the pressure on the Root ninjas suddenly decreased.

"His attack has weakened; he must be running low on chakra. Hurry, kill him while he is weak!" One of the Root ninjas exclaimed confidently, already envisioning Yato as a corpse.

However, the other Root ninjas noticed that this bold speaker remained motionless, standing on the tree branches.

No one heeded his call. Instead, they grew more cautious, watching Yato closely and ready to retreat. They had seen this scenario too many times: every attack ended in their teammates' deaths without even scratching their opponent.

Today's events were too shocking. These were all seasoned Root ninjas, yet they were being decimated by a single man, his prowess rivaling that of Konoha's White Fang and the Yellow Flash.

Seeing his men cowering and merely surrounding Yato, Danzo was furious. He was fighting for his life while they stood around.

"What are you waiting for? Kill him quickly!" he roared.

Maru hesitated but obeyed Danzo's order, stepping forward reluctantly.

Seeing this, Yato stopped conserving chakra and changed his fighting style. He fought and retreated, using physical skills to lure the Root ninjas into pre-set traps, coordinating with shadow clones hidden in the dark.

Simultaneously, he kept an eye on the other side of the battlefield. Susanoo was immensely powerful but consumed a lot of chakra. Shisui should be nearing his limit by now.

Just as Yato suspected, Shisui's chakra reserves were dwindling, making it hard to maintain Susanoo for long. Worse, he felt a stinging pain in his eyes, a sign of overusing his Mangekyō Sharingan. Overuse would render him unable to use his Sharingan for a long time, requiring recovery.

However, neither Danzo nor Yato would give him time to rest.

"I can't delay any longer. I have to return to my clan to stop the Uchiha from going to war with the village!" Shisui resolved.

Determined, Susanoo, wielding its knight's spear, swept directly toward Danzo and the remaining Root ninjas.

"Hide!" Danzo commanded, retreating quickly to avoid Susanoo's attack.

Susanoo's power was overwhelming, like a giant crushing a human. A casual blow could obliterate a person—something ordinary ninjas couldn't resist.

For example, when the green Susanoo waved its spear lightly, surrounding trees were cut in half like paper. If it hit a person, nothing would remain.

The spear swept across again, and Danzo and his men retreated, forming different seals.

"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Bomb!" A Root ninja unleashed a massive stream of fire towards Susanoo, hoping to penetrate its defenses. The flames licked at the ethereal armor but did little more than create a blinding flash.

"Wind Style: Vacuum Sphere!" Another ninja launched a barrage of high-pressure wind bullets at Shisui, trying to exploit any gaps in Susanoo's defense. The bullets struck the giant, causing ripples but not penetrating.

"Lightning Style: False Darkness!" A powerful bolt of lightning surged towards Susanoo, crackling with intensity. Yet, the attack dispersed upon contact, unable to break through the spectral armor.

Seeing their combined attacks have little effect, Danzo's frustration grew. He formed hand seals and shouted, "Wind Style: Vacuum Serial Waves!" He released a series of slicing wind blades, each aimed at critical points on Susanoo.

Shisui's eyes narrowed. He couldn't afford to let his guard down. With a swift motion, Susanoo's spear deflected the wind blades, shattering them into harmless gusts. "You can't break through Susanoo that easily, Danzo."

Danzo gritted his teeth, realizing he needed a new strategy. "You think you're invincible, Shisui, but you're running out of time. Your eyes are straining, and your chakra is depleting."

Shisui felt the sting in his eyes growing sharper. He knew Danzo was right. He had to make a decisive move soon. "I won't let you win, Danzo. Not today."

With renewed determination, Shisui directed Susanoo to charge at Danzo. The green giant moved with surprising speed, its spear aimed straight at Danzo's heart. Danzo barely managed to evade, using Izanagi once more to rewrite reality in his favor.

As Danzo's Sharingan eye closed permanently, a sign of Izanagi's toll, Shisui taunted, "You're running out of eyes, Danzo." He knew each use of Izanagi brought Danzo closer to vulnerability.

Danzo's face twisted with fury. "I'll take yours if I have to, Shisui!" He prepared another wind jutsu, but before he could release it, Shisui made his move.

"Now!" Shisui shouted, throwing a smoke bomb to the ground. Thick, black smoke erupted, engulfing the battlefield and obscuring everyone's vision. The Root ninjas coughed and stumbled, unable to see through the dense fog.

Using the cover of the smoke, Shisui deactivated Susanoo and swiftly moved through the chaos. His hands blurred as he formed seals, ready to make his escape. "Body Flicker Technique!"

In an instant, Shisui disappeared, reappearing several hundred meters away, safely out of reach of Danzo and his men. He paused to catch his breath, his eyes burning with exhaustion.

As the smoke on the battlefield cleared, revealing Shisui's absence, Danzo cursed under his breath. 'Damn it! He got away!' His frustration boiled over as he clenched his fists.

In the dark, Yato's shadow clone observed the direction in which Shisui had escaped. After recording the information, it dispelled itself, sending the data back to the main body.

Amidst the thick fog, Yato remained vigilant. Receiving feedback from his shadow clone, he swiftly dispatched the Root ninja in front of him, slashed through the mist, and pursued Shisui.

Aburame Maru and the others, feeling as if they had narrowly escaped death, hesitated to chase. However, Danzo's furious roar echoed, "What are you waiting for? Chase them quickly! Where are the sensory Ninjas? Report their location!"

The fight was too costly, and Danzo was determined not to return empty-handed.

As Yato ran and saw Shisui's back, he activated his chakra and opened the seals on his wrist guards. With a series of explosive sounds, he grabbed a handful of shurikens and launched them at Shisui.

"How could he be so fast?" Shisui was surprised by Yato's quick approach. He had suspected Yato's intentions but hadn't anticipated such speed.

Reacting swiftly, Shisui drew his kunai and activated his bleeding Sharingan, focusing on the incoming shurikens. He dodged as many as he could and deflected the rest.

As Shisui dealt with the last of the projectiles, he sensed Yato closing in. Without hesitation, Yato lunged forward with his ninja sword. 'Give me your Sharingan!' he demanded.

"If you want my eyes, come and get them. Susanoo!" Shisui roared, furious at the repeated attempts to take his eyes. Despite the pain in his overstrained eyes, he activated Susanoo with a fierce cry.

A majestic and ferocious green Susanoo appeared, wielding a war spear and slashing at Yato. Yato's expression was grim, but he did not retreat. Channeling more chakra, he swung his sword with all his strength.

"Gravity Slash!"

Boom!

The sword, augmented by gravity, clashed with Susanoo's war spear. The impact shook the battlefield, uprooting trees and causing a massive shockwave.

"Ugh!" Yato spat blood as he was flung backward, his sword shattered into fragments. Despite fighting the Root Ninjas for so long without injury, he was hurt after just one clash with Shisui.

But this wasn't due to the incompetence of the Root ninjas. Neither Danzo nor his subordinates dared to face Susanoo head-on. Only Yato had been bold enough to attempt it.

Shisui wasn't unscathed either. He too vomited blood from the force of the clash, and Susanoo's form wavered from the impact of the Gravity Slash.

Yato's slash carried the force of gravity and was capable of silently harming its target. Susanoo could shield Shisui from slashes, but it couldn't counteract the effects of gravity.

"Damn, what kind of ninjutsu is this? Even the enhanced Rock Technique doesn't have such an effect... Uh..."

Struggling to rise, Shisui instinctively covered his swollen and throbbing left eye.

The battle with Danzo and the Root Ninja had been grueling, taking a heavy toll on him. Now, his ocular power was nearly depleted, and both eyes bled, protesting the strain.

"I can't afford to collapse. There are unfinished matters awaiting me..."

The scene before him began to blur, signaling that Shisui was nearing his limit.

Suddenly, the sound of air being sliced through reached his ears once more!

It was Yato, who had just been knocked away, launching another assault.

Swiftly!

In less than a second, he rapidly stepped dozens of times on tree trunks, leveraging the tremendous reactionary force to charge towards Shisui.

He quickly formed hand seals and unleashed his next attack. "Gravity Release: Gravitational Wave!"

Yato unleashed a powerful gravitational wave, aiming to disrupt Susanoo's form.

Shisui felt the intense pressure but held firm, countering with his own jutsu.

"Fire Style: Great Fire Annihilation!"

Shisui exhaled a massive torrent of flames, clashing with Yato's gravitational wave.

The battlefield was engulfed in a blinding inferno, with the heat and pressure creating a volatile environment.

As the flames subsided, both warriors were visibly strained. Yato, sensing an opportunity, dashed forward, his movements a blur.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" He created multiple clones, each one attacking from different angles, hoping to overwhelm Shisui.

Shisui's Sharingan tracked the clones' movements with precision, his mind racing to anticipate their next move. 'You won't trick me that easily!' he thought, activating another technique.

"Fire Style: Multiple Great Fireballs!" Multiple huge fireballs shot from his mouth, consuming several of Yato's clones instantly.

Undeterred, Yato's remaining clones continued their assault, coordinating their attacks to exploit any openings. Shisui parried and dodged, but the relentless assault began to wear him down.

Realizing he needed to change tactics, Shisui formed a series of rapid hand seals. "Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!" A massive water dragon surged from his position, crashing into Yato and his clones with overwhelming force.

The impact momentarily stunned Yato, but he swiftly recovered, using Shave to evade the water dragon's wrath. His remaining clones, however, weren't as fortunate—they dissolved into mist.

At this time, Danzo had also arrived with his men, but he did not act immediately.

He was waiting—waiting for the two combatants to weaken each other, fight to the death, and finally allow him to claim victory without further losses.

The battlefield was a maelstrom of elements and energy, with each combatant pushing their limits. As they clashed again, Yato managed to land a direct hit, his kunai grazing Shisui's arm.

Blood trickled down Shisui's arm, but he didn't falter. "You've forced me to use my last resort," he muttered. "Susanoo, full form!"

Susanoo's form solidified and expanded, becoming even more formidable. With a mighty swing, it struck at Yato with unparalleled force.

Yato braced himself, channeling all his remaining chakra into a final defense. "Gravity Release: Black Hole!" A small, dense sphere of gravitational energy formed in his hand, absorbing and nullifying the impact of Susanoo's strike.

Meanwhile, as Shisui focused on his battle with Yato, a shuriken beneath his feet suddenly erupted into a cloud of smoke.

To his shock, it wasn't a shuriken but a shadow clone. The clone materialized behind him, mirroring his opponent perfectly.

Before Shisui could react, the clone's finger transformed into a pointed sword-like extension, driving into Shisui's left eye socket without mercy.

The pain was excruciating, blurring Shisui's senses. He struggled to comprehend the clone's demand through the agony.

"Give me your other eye too!"
