Kapitel 12: Abbot and Costello

Ring, ring!!

The cell phone announced the call from another user as the sound echoed through the room.

June sat still with a cup of tea on his hands and Toji did inversely as he had a bottle of beer with him, reading the newspaper.

In the room that was once filled with silence, the ringing of the phone dispersed the silence...

"... Hey... Ain't ya gonna answer that?" The deep voice belonging to Toji spoke, drawing the attention of the silver-haired male.

"Huh? Me? Like you're closer bro." June said, obviously confused by Toji's sentiment.

Toji raised his eyebrows. "Am closer doesn't mean it's for me." A vein popped out of his forehead.

"Really?..." June sighed as he dragged his feet on the floor to pick up the phone. "How can I help you?"

"Is this Toji?" June gave Toji a side eye, indicating it was for him. "Just hold on for a second."

June turned to look at Toji. "Yeah, no. Do you have any message for me to deliver to him?"

The voice at the other end of the line was hesitant to speak. " I have a job for him, I believe he'll understand." The voice said in a coded manner.

"Sorry, but the old man is on retirement," June stated as he cleaned his ears with his pinky finger. "Ain't that right, Toji?" June handed the question to the older male with black hair.

"Damn right, kid."

"You heard him so I'---"

"Twenty million Won, perhaps consider." The mysterious voice ended with a tempting manner.

"Hold on June... We might have a predicament on our hands."

June smiled at Toji, as this meant no soggy ramen every night and day. "A predicament indeed."

A black car with some bikes as an escort can be seen rolling down the road. Toji is sitting on the chair inside the car, hands resting on his knees eyes concentrating on the moving objects that pass the window.

June was feeling not at peace as he looked at Toji with an anxious gaze. "Do you think it's wise to get involved with the government affairs of Korea... Like they're citizens be living like zombies."

"Korea or Japan, ain't no much difference... Besides this is a good way to get bundles, or in this case... Bag."

June understood that Toji, Japan, and Korea have a similar problem when it comes to living in everyday life. Working conditions, suicidal rates, birth rates, traditions, and culture. One can't deny the disturbing familiarity these two Asian countries share.

"You sure you want to do this buddy?" Toji asked in confirmation. June on the other hand rounded up his thoughts as he answered back.

"Not really."

.

Drums can be heard as they sound dully in the area. A few members of the family Seong Soo all dressed in traditional Korean wear. Guest roamed about, having conversations with the rest of the family.

Clink!

"May I have your attention?" One of the servants spoke, grabbing everyone's attention, all heads snapping to him. "Hyujin Seong Soo, have a few words to share with us."

The young man sitting in the middle rose with pride. "I welcome you all to celebrate with us this evening. As you all know, the bill for the legalization of sorcerers is been passed and processed... Soon, the world of sorcery will stretch to South Korea." Hyujin spoke in an enthusiastic tone, leading to the hype of the guests to agree with him.

This was going to change everything, South Korea will be competing with Japan for the title of the most active society for Jujutsu. Funny how their rate of curses is growing and much more significant in numbers than Japan but less sorcerers. With this, many citizens can hope to make a living and put Jujutsu practices to good use.

The glass of each guest tinked together, discussion and happiness filled the air...

But suddenly...

"Sir!!!" One of the guards at the gate shouted, bringing the attention of the crowd before him to where he stood.

"The men posted at the fourth and fifth gate are dead!!!" In a panic, the man expressed the situation at hand right now, but most of the guests had a confused look on their faces.

Hyujin stood up from his previously seated position to address the man who was in a panic.

"What's the pro--"

Slit!

A knife went through the head of Hyujin, not being able to finish his sentence, killing him in an instant.

The guest couldn't help but look toward the direction from which the Knife came, behold a man dressed in a black top and trousers, who seemed Asian but not Korean, came into the room with nothing but a gun, a dagger, and an attitude.

"Sorry... but I have a job so...

...Bye, bye"

In an instant all the guests had their throats pumping out streams of blood, The man with black hair simply had a grin on his face. "I hope that brat would hurry up. Hmm... let me make a call."

A boy with silver hair and a black pullover ran his fingers through a bunch of files in the drawer, looking for the right information. " Hold up... This is it" But as he found what he was looking for, his rang violently in his pocket.

"What does he want now." The young male grumbles at the sight of the number. "Yeah, yeah, I got it."

"Okay, let's bounce outta here. The place reeks of old farts. And June!"

"What?"

"See if there's any cash at the office you're in right now."

"...."

"You listening to me" Toji's voice rang through the phone that was in the palm of June, who had an annoyed look.

"Satoru... It's nice to see you." a calm and intimidating voice reached the ears of Satori Gojo, though the white-haired male was not bothered by this, he simply waved his hands, dismissing any form of familiarity.

"Yeah stop the crap Kaori," Gojo said as he sat up. "Now what do you want, assuming the kind of person you are, you just don't wanna talk."

Kaori made a painful expression that was eerily like a robot. " Oh, that was quite painful that you think I sought for something from you, Satoru."

"Like always. You know that I know how you go about with things." Gojo smiled his eyes showing a gleam of malice towards Kaori even if it wasn't visible behind the bandages.

"You don't even care or mingle with your clan, your family... isn't that quite selfish Gojo Satoru? Though the strongest without question failed at the very thing he was supposed to use the power bestowed to him.

Gojo's smile dropped quickly. "Now do you think you can guilt trip me into helping with whatever you want? If so, you failed miserably."

Kaori with her unwavering smile dropped her nice antics as well, seemingly to match Gojo's energy. "Oh, I knew convincing you into helping me will prove to be hard... Let me try again. Do you know the whereabouts of June?"

Gojo raised his brows that were hidden beneath the bandages. " June? I thought his execution had been passed for several months now."

"Well... There is a variable that's proven that the boy can survive the Null Void." Kaori spoke with her usual small smile, while Gojo placed his hand on his chin in a posture of thoughts.

"The Null Void? That's impressive to survive such an environment, but yet again the number of cursed spirits inside of the Void has decreased over the years, so it is possible for his survival... but still."

Kaori tilted her head. " You're still familiar with family traditions, Satoru." Gojo smiled at her as he said.

"I don't know the whereabouts of June and even if I did I wouldn't hand him over to you but rather let him join the Jujutsu tech." He spoke enthusiastically.

"Don't go there Satoru... Unless you want to meet your end quickly." Kaori said in a serious tone as her blue eyes morphed into another dominant.

But Gojo being Satoru, started laughing at Kaori for seemingly reasons that were unknown to her.

"Hehehehehhehehehhe... Good Joke Kaori, well see ya later." The white-haired male stood up from his seat inside the cafe, his height towering everyone in the place.

Kaori tried maintaining her calm facade... though she was not wrong...

If Gojo does not want to meet his end...

June should be out of the picture.
