Kapitel 50: Chapter 50 Snatching      

 Late at night in the jungle, the moonlight is obscured by the dense canopy of trees, leaving only sparse silver filaments strewn on the ground, forming mottled spots of light. Emily's vision was severely limited, and the result was that she could barely see the winding path beneath her, and every step made a slight noise as she trod upon the frail structure of dead leaves and twigs.

 The darkness of the jungle seemed to take on a life of its own, swallowing up all light and making the night even heavier. Emily could only make her way by vague outlines and the occasional gleam of moonlight, her heart beating faster with the stimulus of her surroundings, her every breath full of tension and alarm.

 At that moment Emily suddenly heard something like the barking of a dog close at hand, and her hands clenched on her saber, and her eyes peered alertly into the surrounding darkness, trying to find the source of the noise.
