Zeus had left.
However, as Hades was about to leave as well, Poseidon called out to him.
"Hades."
"What is it?"
"I want to make a deal with you."
"Tell me."
The conversation between Hades and Poseidon, to be honest, was so emotionless that even the Twin Gods watching felt uneasy, as if two beings devoid of any feelings were talking to each other. It was strange and unsettling.
Nevertheless, as subordinate gods, the Twin Gods stood obediently, waiting for Hades' command. Everything else? Not important! Not important at all.
"Hades," Poseidon said calmly, "you can seal, absorb, and devour divine powers that do not belong to you."
"Yes," Hades replied, understanding exactly what Poseidon was referring to: the laws of sealing and devouring that came with his demonic star power. He did not deny it and simply nodded.
Poseidon continued, "I need you to help me extract a special type of divine power and laws from five individuals."
"The price," Hades asked quietly.
"A portion of the Ultimate Power." Poseidon extended his hand, revealing a crystal of Ultimate Power, radiating pure divine energy. Seeing this crystal, which was about a tenth of the Ultimate Power, Hades sensed something unusual.
Poseidon put away the crystal, and Hades quietly agreed, "Fine, the deal is made. Let's go."
"Alright!"
Poseidon nodded, leading Hades and the Twin Gods deeper into the Heart of the Ocean. The Twin Gods were visibly shocked.
No joke!
As the children of an ancient god couple, they knew exactly what that crystal of Ultimate Power represented. The key point was that the crystal seemed to be...
The Twin Gods remained silent, maintaining their composure. Hypnos respectfully said, "Lord Hades, we shall return to the Underworld first."
"Go ahead."
Hades understood the meaning behind the Twin Gods' request. They knew too much, and being favored had made them fearless. The ancient god couple had taught them many things.
If they were to reveal anything, it would be problematic. Hence, the Twin Gods decided to return to the Underworld. They also had something to research.
Opening the gate to the Underworld, the Twin Gods left. Poseidon didn't care about any of this and continued to lead Hades deeper.
"Hades," Poseidon said calmly, "all the world chains have fallen into your hands."
Poseidon knew about the world chains? After a brief thought, it seemed reasonable. Hades had learned about the world chains from the ancient god couple Erebus and Nyx.
Poseidon, being special himself, must have had the support of ancient gods as well. It was natural for him to know about certain things.
Hades replied calmly, "Of the five world chains, I have collected four. Only one remains."
Hades had no reason to hide this information. His demeanor was always calm, showing no concern. His dark eyes remained indifferent.
Although Hades didn't know how Poseidon learned about the world chains, he was certain that even if Poseidon knew about them, he wouldn't know where each one was. Poseidon might know that the chains of Heaven, Sea, Underworld, and Star were in Hades' possession, but the chain of Earth remained elusive. Obtaining it would be nearly impossible unless Kronos himself intervened.
Otherwise, no god in this era could obtain the last world chain.
"Just as I thought," Poseidon said quietly. "With the divine power of the world chains, your demonic star essence must have changed. Seeking you for this deal is the most suitable option."
Poseidon's eyes were filled with endless indifference and calmness, as if he had already anticipated everything.
Hades, too, remained calm. Being known for certain things was irrelevant to him; he didn't particularly care.
Soon, Poseidon led Hades to the depths of the Heart of the Ocean, where they found a prison. As soon as they entered, they felt the chaotic divine power and laws churning inside.
"Roar!"
"Roar!"
From within the prison came beast-like roars and screams, mixed with immense pain. Just hearing them indicated that something was seriously wrong.
The two gods stopped in front of the prison. Hades quietly observed the five beings inside, who emanated terrifying divine power and laws. No, they should be called beasts, appearing as hybrid creatures of humans and animals.
Clearly, something was very wrong with them. Hades immediately saw that they were enveloped in layers of laws not belonging to them, but seemingly from an external source.
"The Five Ocean Gods," Poseidon said quietly. "They are the offspring of Pontus, but their identity has caused problems."
"They inherited the laws of the Black Sea," Hades said quietly. "Yet, they cannot control them. The pollution from the Black Sea's laws has caused great harm to them."
Hades naturally understood the issue. The Black Sea laws controlled by Pontus were unique to ancient gods. Ordinary gods couldn't master them. Even as Pontus' children, the Five Ocean Gods were still tainted.
