Kapitel 6: 6. Into a new world

Veilhem felt his vision blurry, his sense weakened and disoriented. He didn't even feel if he was standing or sitting anymore.

But that didn't last long. Soon, his vision became normal again as he weakly pushed the ground to get up. He quickly grabbed the sword that had been strapped behind his back and got into a stance, preparing for any possible ambush.

He inspected the surroundings to see that he was inside an unfamiliar forest. One without the sickening poison swam and deformed creatures like that of his place. But he didn't let his guard down as he knew from his experience that the more beautiful it seemed, the deadlier it truly was.

And to top on that, the person with him, Makima, was nowhere to be seen. This situation made him put on even more alert.

Suddenly, he heard some rustle sound behind the bush and quickly moved toward it in silence, hiding his presence.

A group of humans with the same black clothes and combat gears. They were a bunch with some unidentified weapons in his hand. He expected it to be the guns that Makima told him once.

They were four people in a group.

Veilhem cautiously gauged the distance between them and made a plan in his mind. Years of experience fighting came into play as he waited for them to walk in his range like a patience hunter toward its prey.

Suddenly, he threw a rock to the opposite side, making noise on purpose. They all turned their attention to that direction and slowly walked to it with their high alertness.

It seemed that they are a high skill bunch. Veilhem noted in his head and stealthily approached the man in the rear.

He took out his knife on his waist and with a quick movement, he slitted the man's throat and covered his mouth to make sure the guy wasn't making any sound.

He dragged the man's body and hid it behind the boulder near him.

1 down, 3 left.

The man in the middle seemed to be their leader as he commanded the other two. The commander was feeling uneasy about this whole situation so he called out.

"Alpha 1, report!"

But there was no reply. This pushed the captain's awareness further on edge. He signaled the two and they nodded, covering each other.

Veilhem charged toward one of the two remaining subordinates and drove his sword through his abdomen and protruded out his back, killing the man in an instant.

The moment they saw him do that, they pointed their at him and opened fire. Veilhem used the corpse as his shield to approach closer and threw it at them, staggering them.

Using this opening, Veilhem threw his knife at the last underling. His precision was sharp as the knife struck the man's head and he dropped dead.

"Argh!" That was the last sound of him before his life was taken away.

Veilhem did not pursue further and took cover behind the trees and bushes, moving himself out of the captain's range.

Rustle- Rustle-

"Who are you?! Identify yourself!" The now lone commander exclaimed after he got back to his foot. Panic was visible in his tone as he watched his surbodinates getting slaughtered in front of his eyes.

Despite his fear, he was not easy to sway as he approached Veilhem's cover slowly, clearly the man was trained for such a situation.

Veilhem didn't know what the guns in their hand could possibly do so he had to take advantage of the panic of the commander and throw a handful of dirt at his face as he got close enough, blocking his vision and rushing to take him down as soon as possible.

Although his vision was blocked, he opened fire nonetheless. Unfortunately, Veilhem just needed to slightly lean his body a bit to dodge the incoming bullets.

He swung his blade and the man in his sharp instinct dodged it clumsily, stumbling over on his own.

"Shit!" Seeing his opponent vicious attack, he cursed.

Seeing the opponent's balance was off, Veilhem bashed his shoulder at the man, sending him crashing to the tree behind him.

"Kurghh!"

Veilhem followed up by grabbing the blade with his other hand and hitting the man in the face with the hilt of his sword in a swift movement. He elbowed the commander's face with his other hand, knocking him out cold instantly.

His battle was quick and had no flashy moves as he aimed for two things in his combat.

Brutal and efficiency.

Suddenly, he heard another rustle behind his back and knew that his battle was not yet over. He cocked his head over that direction and prepared for the worst but what greeted him was a familiar figure, making him sigh in relief.

It was the lady that he had been staying with for a while, Makima.

Her clothes were wrinkled and stained with mud, the ever smoothly red hair was disheveled with a few leaves tucked in it. He fixed his gaze at her eyes and noticed that she looked quite calm and collected as if the whole deal was nothing.

"How long have you been there?" He raised his eyebrow behind the helmet.

"Since you stealthily killed the one there." She pointed at the boulder where he hid his first victim.

"So from the beginning." Sighing, he walked closer and weeped the dirt on her face with his clean part of his cape as she tilted her head to look behind him.

Makima saw the unconscious man laying on the ground.

"I would interfere if things went wrong though." She said that as if it was a fact.

"Did you kill him too?" She asked, not minding his caring action.

"No, just knock him out." He replied while picking out the leaves that stuck in her hair.

"Great, I could gain us some information." Makima hummed and came near the unconscious man. She crouched to meet his eyes level and pointed her finger at his head.

A chain connected to him and she stood still for a few minutes. Veilhem saw this and waited nearby, watching if there were more enemies nearby.

"Alright I got everything I need." She stood up and pointed her finger at the commander's head.

"Bang."

Suddenly, an invisible force crushed the man into a paste of blood and organs. Some of it even splashed on her face and clothes, making her look like some maniac considering how cold she looked right now.

Makima did the same thing with the other three bodies and walked toward Veilhem, who was watching her in silence as if he didn't care about her actions.

"Did you not find I'm scary?" She used her elbow to nudge him, a grind emerged on her beautiful face. Completely contrast with the actions she just did.

"Hmm, if I have to say… I have seen worse. I envy them to be honest. Dying so easily and getting to rest is something I yearn for. Even if I get crushed like that, given enough time, I will still rise again. Such is the undead's fate, unable to rest and bound to this sickening fate." He calmly explained while wiping the blood on her face.

"At least don't let it splash on your face." His voice tinged with a bit of irritation, clearly being bothered by how messy she looked.

"I guess I really need some new clothes then." Makima nodded in understanding.

"Alright let's go then. I will lead the way."

She headed off first with Veilhem walking behind.

___

In the metropolis of Tokyo, 2005

___

Inside a coffee shop, there were two people sitting in front of each other in the corner of the place, clearly enjoying the time together.

One was a woman in black civil servant's suit that hugged her curvy body and highlighted it perfectly while the other was a tall man in a black-ish armor. The aura that they gave off was authority and palpable yet the anomaly here was that no one paid them a glance and treated them as if they didn't see anything unusual.

"A cup of hot cappuccino please." The woman called out her order and passed the menu to the waiter. He nodded and took it, jotting down her order then turned his head to the knight.

"And yours is?" The waiter asked.

"I will have… uhh, can you suggest it to me?" He pointed at the menu.

The waiter began the introduction of the coffees in the shop and suggested the knight should try the best seller, aka espresso.

He nodded and turned his gaze back at Makima.

"So, this world is filled with curses and sorcerers? And they utilize the so-called Cursed Energy permitted from the ordinary people through negative emotions?"

"Yes, and they even have an organization called a Jujutsu Headquarters, the command center of this country's Jujutsu Sorcerers. They even have a Jujutsu High that is basically a place to train young Sorcerers."

"Even though my eyes are everywhere in this country at this moment, I can not be sure that was all of it."

The power of gathering information of Makima was top notch.

"There are some powerhouses in this world, for example Ryomen Sukuna in the Heidan era a thousand years ago known as the strongest in history and the white hair boy named Gojo Satoru, the strongest in the modern time."

Makima gave him the file.

The guy was at max 16 or 17 years old, he had snow white hair and a handsome face that could charm every girl on the planet.

He was wearing sunglasses and his vibrant blue eyes were… particular to say the least.

Veilhem flipped the file over and Gojo Satoru's information was displayed neatly in front of him. The information she gave him was very wide and mostly about the world and its political stuff, the Six Eyes was one of them too.

[The Six Eyes is an innate attribute inherited within the Gojo clan. It grants the bearer extraordinary perception, allowing them to see the flow of cursed energy. The constant influx of information can be overwhelming, leaving the bearer overstimulated and tired.]

Skimming through the file, Veilhem was sure that he didn't have a means to fight off this guy. If only he could have fully his gear right now.

But what caught his attention was the variety of ways to harness this Curse Energy. According to the explanation of the Curse Energy, it is born from the negative emotions of humans and he had a lot of it to the point it became numb to him right now while Makima… well, she was literally the embodiment of fear being controlled.

If his theory was true then he and Makima could use this said energy.

When he told her about his theory, she deduced that might work. But they didn't have any guide as Makima had sent out a bunch of small animals to gather information. The only thing left was waiting.

But for now, let them enjoy this peaceful moment.

The waiter came to their table with their order. "I hope it suits your taste, dear customers."

(A/N: I try to do a little fighting here, hope it's good enough. Still haven't figure out how the story progress tho.)
