Kapitel 12: Chapter 12 – First World Announcement
The Vampire Bat shrieked loudly without creating any sound, but the cave shook greatly. It actually produced an ultrasonic sound that damaged both Atlas and Ferin, decreasing their HP to 95 and 89%, respectively.
"Now we're pressed in time." Atlas commented, observing the Vampire Bat closely. No single movement escaped him. "Go wild, Fer. I will be able to cover you more now that it enters the second phase."
Ferin didn't answer. She dashed forward with a wide grin on her face. Her sword flashed as she slashed at the monster with great speed.
Her attack didn't have any effect. Every attack she did didn't even leave a scratch.
It was because the Vampire Bat entered its enraged state. The monster's fur changed color into red and its attack power increased tremendously. It would last 20 seconds, but the duration was more than enough for the monster.
Fortunately, the monster didn't have the intelligence of an actual living creature. It didn't realize the effect of its own enraged state and focused on attacking Ferin.
It didn't matter if the attack wouldn't do anything. Atlas only waited for the perfect timing. His brain quickly came up with different strategies, weighing out the positives and the negatives.
Atlas aimed his staff and shouted the spell.
"Dodge it, Fer!"
The bluish bolt was launched, heading straight for the Vampire Bat as it opened its mouth wide to prepare for another fireball.
"Yeah!" Ferin exclaimed loudly after dodging it in the nick of time.
The bluish bolt accurately hit the bat's open mouth that was a mid-charging fireball. Because of the bad footing, the monster fell backwards, the fire was dispelled.
Its HP bar was decreased, bringing its HP to 44%. The enraged state came to an end and its fur returned to normal black.
"Make it to 10%, Fer."
"Easy peasy!"
As the monster staggered up to its feet, Ferin continued her attack at it. Its defense had returned to the original phase 1. Her attack connected and decreased the monster's HP steadily.
"Almost there!" The girl with bunny ears laughed boisterously.
30, 25, 20, 15%, Ferin finally got the last hit and decreased the monster's HP bar to 10%. At that moment, the soundwave attack returned and shook the cave.
"That was the final soundwave." Atlas muttered as the monster returned to the enraged state, but not for long. This would be its last minute and then the monster would die.
He hurriedly commanded his girlfriend. "Fer, come back. Get ready to retreat."
The Vampire Bat chased after her and blocked off her way. But she slid below it without stopping, evading the bat's stomping hindleg.
She breathed heavily as she crashed into Atlas. He caught her body and helped her up.
"Let's get out of here!" Atlas supported Ferin on his shoulder and they run side by side. As they left the room, they heard a loud roar and footsteps.
They didn't turn back at all and ran until they got out of the room. Only when they could hear the flapping of wings did they stop. The Vampire Bat was caught in the sticky that Atlas scattered near the entrance before they fought. Once it was caught, the enraged state ended and it returned to normal once again.
"Stupid bat." Ferin teased with a wide smile and punched Atlas' shoulder lightly. "Hehe, our plan works. Is it time to kill it? I don't know about you, At. But I really want to say this special sentence right now."
"What a coincidence. Let's say it together when we get the world notification."
After all, the most exciting part would be from there.
Two of them walked toward the trapped Vampire Bat slowly. There was no rush in them. They were sure it wouldn't die because of low health. So, they needed to deliver the final blow.
Ferin raised her sword while Atlas prepared for his [Mana Bolt].
"Goodbye, stupid bat."
Ferin's sword swung downward, delivering the blow and making the HP bar empty.
[World Announcement!]
[Atlas and Ferin have made a great contribution in defeating a Rare Monster, Vampire Bat!]

Both of them looked at each other as the Vampire Bat shattered into many red hexagons.
"Heh, that's easy." They said at the same time and bumped their fists.
But that wasn't the end of this.
A chain of notifications followed suit just a second later as if waiting for them to celebrate their victory.

Atlas looked at the notification and looked at Ferin. They grinned at each other upon seeing the generous reward given by the game.
"At, this is big! No one told me that we will get 2 titles, one which gives us extra EXP gain and one extra damage to monsters! Even the [Rare] weapon looks like trash now!"
"Yeah… Honestly, I didn't expect this either. I only want to get the (First Rare Hunter) title and the possibility of weapon drop." He said, looking at his status.

His two new titles were written there, replacing the 'None' word. This meant the titles were active now.
Ferin also did the same. She checked her status and her mood visibly improved.
After distributing their free points, Atlas put them all in MAG, they left the cave and returned to the newbie village for the last time.
