I sat in front of Dani's apartment, waiting for her to come outside. It didn't take me long to get here so I began to wonder if I came too early.
It was just about 10pm right now, yet the streets were still bustling with people even at this time one a weekday.
My thoughts were interrupted at the sound of a door opening and I saw Dani coming towards me and hurriedly got on the back of the motorcycle.
"Tell me where to go I'm hungry as hell right now." I passed her my helmet and she put it on and lifted the visor.
"Here, he usually sits at the park, let's hurry!" Patting my shoulder, she gave me her phone to follow the GPS directions to a nearby park.
Kicking up the kickstand, I started the bike and rode off.

Taking off his helmet, a gust of warm wind brushed Desmond's face and he noticed how little people were outside. Parked by the curb was a lone sitting food truck with its lights on.
"Big Tongz?" He looked back and watched Dani get off the motorcycle, pushing on his shoulders.
"The food's nice, stop nitpicking." She said, as she watched Desmond put the kickstand down.
As they walked along the pavement, Desmond looked to his right and saw that the park had a huge lake in the middle and a walking area around it. There were benches to sit on and a lot of open grass to play on as well.
"It's a nice park. Not too many curses either." He mumbled as he looked around the rest of his surroundings.
"Why would someone put a curse on the park?" Dani asked with furrowed eyebrows.
Desmond chuckled at her misunderstanding and explained.
"By curses, I mean these weird creatures that just cause misfortune or bring a bad vibe. I'm able to see them, so I always just take note of it."
She balanced herself as she walked on the curb, asking Desmond if that's what he was fighting back then in D.C.
"Yeah, they're literally wretched things, but there hasn't been anything I couldn't handle so far. Most of them are little things like some sadness, white lying, stuff like that."
"Ouuu so you're like an otherworldly therapist?!" Desmond lightly pushed her, so she'd lose her balance on the curb and constructed a small bar in front of desmond tripping him.
He eyes her as she passed him and sighed seeing her sly smile.
"You got a pretty handy ability, huh?" He asked jokingly with a glint of sarcasm in his voice.
"Yup, but I can only do small or simple stuff right now. Xavior said if I train my mind properly, I'd naturally get better."
"Well you're also a good shot with the bow and arrow, how long have you been practicing?"
She tapped her chin and looked back at him, "Since I was a little girl. I remember I used to go hunting with with my grandpa to catch buffalo and deer, I even got a bear on my own on time." She said with a smug smile.
Desmond laughed and they got to the food truck and ordered what they were going to get.
Desmond decided to get what Dani was getting and ordered lamb chops with some sweet and spicy honey sauce.
Afterwards, they entered the park and sat at a bench as they ate.
"The first bites gonna say everything, you kn- why are you already eating?" Desmond asked as he looked over and saw Dani already chewing with sauce on her mouth.
She swallowed her food and grabbed his wrist putting the food up to his mouth.
"You're gonna let it get cold." She said before taking another bite of her food.
Desmond dipped the chop into the sauce a d took a bite. As he chewed the combination of the seasoning and the sweet and spicy contrast in the sauce made his mouth water with every bite.
For a good 5-6 minutes the two sat on the park bench and quietly chowed down, nodding to each other about the taste.
Unfortunately, Desmond was inclined to givw it a 10/10. The texture, the taste, and the complete feeling he got from just 5 lamb chops was amazing.
While he wasn't full, he was definitely set for a good while. The two then went and walked around the lake, enjoying the seemingly peaceful night.

"Jarvis, expand your search for paranormal occurrences. Things like a man fighting spirits, invisible things, a glowing man, god even."
{Was the last part a joke sir?}
"I wish." Tony swiped away the screen in front of him and large robotic hands, picked up the suite he was working on and dipped it in a solution 3 times.
{The flame resistant solution was a success, it should harden in a few hours and here's all I could find on "paranormal activity"}
Rony went through them and his eyebrows furrowed.
"Look for signs of encryption."
A screen apparered in front of Tony and he smirked smugly.
"That pirate should really get with the times.This level of ciphertext is nothing to me, ora ora ora ora ora!!"
{Sir, you really must lay off of those Japanese cartoons.}
"Maybe I should add a program for you to be funnier."
{I rather like my programming exactly how it is currently.}
"Ohhh what's this? Of course it's on Twitter." Stark said with a laugh.
He played the video and watched as Desmond punched at what looked like nothing while a dazzling mist covered him.
"Ohhh…"
He watched Desmond repair a whole building with charms and his eyes lit up like stars.
"This kid is pretty insane. Nice control of strength and he has equipment. Were those hand made or did he get them from someone else. Jarvis, run a database scan on this guy."
{It's done, sir.}
"Desmond Horton, 21 years old, both parents deceased, no siblings or immediate family afterwards, graduated from Dunbar Highschool, and currently taking up residence in Arlington, D.C." He hummed and continued reading.
"I'll have to look into this more. One eye, must've hidden a lot more information right?"
{Here's more decrypted information, sir.}
"Perfect."
Tony closely went through everything and was shocked with the more he read and understood. Seeing that Desmond was in New York at this very moment didn't seem like a coincidence to him either. Something was definitely going to happen soon.

"After finding that out, like the next day I literally hopped on a plane and went there. I practiced the culture for a while, but it got too hectic and I just got a charm to basically chain my powers and went back to D.C."
"How long did you stay there?"
Desmond rubbed his chin, "I was 17 so bout a year and a half. It wasn't that long, but I did learn a lot."
Seeing his remeniscent stare at the moon, Dani recalled the times with her grandfather when she was back within the tribe.
"Sometimes I wanna go back."
"Sometimes I wanna go back."
They looked at each other awkwardly and laughed hysterically.
"I just need a vacation dayy~" Dani whined as she slouched down tiredly.
"Right I just wanna go somewhere to get away for a while." Desmond replied with a nod.
"I don't know if it's fortunate or unfortunate, but there's more mutants popping up from nowhere now. Me and the team don't have any time to relax these days." Dani added.
"Yeah, I noticed a lot of randomly strong curses these days. Well more like demons."
"It's always funny seeing how different our powers are, but they both come from a mental state, you know?" Desmond thought about what she said and had to agree.
"If I was still the same heep of garbage I was months ago, then my power would never get stronger." He thought Dani had to be pretty strong willed to train till she got her powers under control and then trained further to improve it.
Although he's barely scratched the surface of his own.
"When you told me you can manifest people's worst fears, I thought you'd make a spider just to creep me out."
Laughing at him, Dani made one and threw it in his hair. She laughed while watching him shake his locs and wash his hair around trying to hit it away.
"Okay stop, stop, I already broke it down!!" She chimmed, stopping his hands.
"Hmph, you know what?" He smirked and reached into his leg pouch. He lifted up a levitation charm and held on to her arm before she tried to run.
*pop*
He put it smack dab in the middle of her forehead.
"Wahhhhh!!" Her feet left the ground as she started to float higher and at a weird angle.
It was now Desmonds turn to laugh at her as she tried to flap her arms to move herself.
"You look ridiculous!!" He laughed as he took out his phone and reorded her.
"Wait, I have powers." Her eyes lit up as she constructed a lasso and threw it around Desmond and began pulling herself towards him.
Their eyes met with a score that needed to be settled!
Desmond pulled out another levitation charm and smiled.
"Don't you do it!!" She yelled pointing at him commandingly.
Desmond blankly turned to look at an imaginary camera , "I'm gonna do it anyway."
Placing the charm on his chest, he began floating and was pulled towards Dani.
"Take us down you dolt!!" She yelled shaking him as she saw the ground getting further and further away. They floated a ways away from where Desmond parked, but he was laid back as if he was on a bed.
Desmond looked at her, as she floated upside down and around him, like she was a planet in orbit.
"Dani all you have to do is relax and let the force carry you. The view from his is immaculate." Desmond suggested as he turned over on his stomach and looked at the ground below.
Dani watched him and as she floated over him, she grabbed on his jacket and sat on his back with her legs crossed.
"See? Even though you're sitting on my back I don't feel your weight at all."
She pulled his jacket tighter and pulled his head back to look her in the eyes.
"Care to elaborate?" She said with a smile.
A very eerie smile.
"I'm okay. Thank you."

Later they went back to the park and Desmond saw that his motorcycle was stolen.
"Aww shit."
"I told you."
