Chapter 40
The training grounds beneath Kade's fortress in Korea were a scene of chaos and fury. Twenty of the strongest hunters,Chaos Brigade, faced off against their leader. The air crackled with the energy of their attacks, but it was clear from the start that the battle was one-sided.
Kade moved through the ranks of his subordinates with a grace and power that seemed almost effortless. His dark aura pulsed with each step, and his attacks were precise and devastating. Despite their combined strength and strategy, the members of the Chaos Brigade found themselves on the defensive, struggling to keep up with his overwhelming power.
Jinchul, the youngest and the weakest of the team, fought valiantly but could barely keep his ground. He watched in awe as Kade effortlessly countered each attack, his movements a blur of dark energy and raw strength. Even Go Gunhee and Goto Ryuji, the mightiest of the Brigade, were pushed back, their attacks deflected as if they were nothing more than gentle breezes.
The Chaos Brigade redoubled their efforts, launching a coordinated assault. Spells and physical strikes converged on Kade from all directions, but he merely smirked, raising a hand to summon a wall of shadows that absorbed their attacks.
"This is getting boring," he murmured, disappearing in a blur and reappearing behind them. In a series of rapid movements, he beheaded all of them at the same time as his arm turned into form of a blade.
As the fight began to settled and their heads reattaching itself back to their own bodies, Jinchul's phone began to ring. Standing up whole his head was still dettached, he pulled the device from his pocket.
Picking up his head from the ground and putting it back where it belong, he looked at his phone.
"Sir," Jinchul called out with his newly acquired intellect. "Japan is attempting to contact you."
Kade raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Japan? Interesting timing. Answer it."
Jinchul nodded, quickly accepting the call and putting it on speaker. "This is Jinchul, representative of the Chaos Brigade, how can I help?"
The voice on the other end was tense but formal. "This is Matsumoto Shigeo, head of the Japanese Hunters Association. We are reaching out in a time of great need. Multiple S-rank dungeons have appeared across our nation, and we require your assistance."
Kade's eyes gleamed with interest. "And why should I help you, Akira Hayashi?" Kade spoke as he took the phone from Jinchul
There was a brief pause before he continued. "We understand the power you wield and the influence you now have. In this crisis, we are willing to negotiate terms for your support. Japan's resources and alliances could be beneficial to you."
Kade considered this, his mind calculating the potential advantages. He looked at the members of the Chaos Brigade, still recovering from their sparring session. "I suppose it wouldn't hurt to lend a hand," he said finally. "But understand that my help comes with a price, and it will not be cheap"
Shigeo's voice was resolute. "We are prepared to discuss any terms you set. The safety of our nation is our top priority".
"Very well," Kade replied. "I will send a team of my finest subordinates. They will handle the dungeons. Prepare for their arrival."
With that, Kade ended the call and looked at his subordinates, thinking of who to send
"This task will be our first time showing our power to the world so Go, Gotto and Cha, go and show them the might of Chaos Brigade"
The three nodded and left with a smile on their face, the very first task was assigned to them and they will not disappoint their master.
The rest of Chaos Brigade members, though weary from their sparring session, quickly rose to their feet as if waiting to be assigned to a task as well, their expressions was that of a dog waiting for their owner to throw the ball.
As they prepared to depart, Kade turned his attention back to the remaining members of the Brigade. "There are also S-rank dungeons that have appeared here in Korea. Jinchul, Baek Yoonho, and Choi Jong-In, you three will take charge of clearing them."
Jinchul straightened up, nodding firmly. "Understood, sir."
Baek Yoonho, a towering figure known for his immense strength, cracked his knuckles with a savage look. "We'll handle it swiftly."
After being granted intelligence by Kade, some remain how they were and some changed to that of their deep desire.
Baek's an example, he was professional and reserve when he was a normal hunter, but when he went under Kade's control his primal desire all resurfaced.
But not all changed, Choi Jong-In stayed reserve and quiet, Go Gunhee stayed motivated, although for different reason.
And speaking of the devil, Choi Jong-In, a master of fire magic and tactical genius, gave a curt nod. "We won't disappoint you, sir"
Kade's eyes glinted with satisfaction. "Good. Remember, this is not just about clearing the dungeons. It's about showcasing our dominance. Make sure everyone knows who they are dealing with, oh and take someone to broadcast the dungeon raid with you. The world should know our prowess"
While this was all happening, In the realm of the monarchs, a dark, foreboding castle loomed against a blood-red sky. Within the grand hall of the castle, lit by eerie, flickering torches, the Monarchs gathered around a massive obsidian table.
At the head of the table sat Antares, the Monarch of Destruction, and the undisputed leader of the Monarchs. His presence was overwhelming and his aura was radiating an oppressive force that even his fellow Monarchs found difficult to endure.
Antares surveyed the room with his piercing red eyes, his gaze settling on each of the assembled Monarchs, the Monarch of Frost, the Monarch of Plague, the Monarch of Transfiguration, the Monarch of Iron Body, and the Beast Monarch. Each of them exuded an aura of their own respectable power.
"The meeting shall now begin"
This was the start of a great war, a war that will end the Rulers and Monarchs conflict…
