Kapitel 69: BIRTHDAY PARTY III

My arm was still linked with Alexander's when the woman raised her head and settled back on the wheel chair. Her eyes swept over him first before gliding down to our intertwined hands. It remained there for a moment more than necessary, and when her eyes finally settled on my face, there was this unusual coldness in them. At this point, I didn't need a witch to tell me the woman had a problem with me, one I wasn't even aware of.

"I'd say same of you, Margaret." The woman's eyes snapped back to Alexander the moment he spoke. "You're half way through your second millennium, yet you don't look so bad yourself," Alexander said with a small smile.

It was quite shocking that Alexander complimented anyone.

"Getting a compliment from you isn't something I'd hoped for today, Xander. You seem like you're in a good mood which is quite unusual for an aloof being like yourself."

They were on names par, I noted.
