56.75% My Ex-Husband Fell in Love with Me / Chapter 147: How Can You Make Things Difficult for a Princess?

Kapitel 147: How Can You Make Things Difficult for a Princess?

On the third evening, after attending a banquet with the suppliers, Fu Hanjiang felt unwell as he left the venue.

His vision blurred, and he staggered.

"Sir!" Rong Zheng hurriedly supported him. "We can't delay any longer! There's nothing urgent now, so let's go to the hospital, okay?"

"Alright."

Fu Hanjiang didn't resist. With the supplier issues resolved, he had fulfilled his duties.

Once Rong Zheng helped him into the car, he felt he could barely hold on any longer, his head spinning and throat burning.

...

At the hospital.

"Sir, please wait here while I register."

"Okay."

Philadelphia wasn't Jiangcheng, and it could be troublesome for a foreigner to seek medical treatment here.

While waiting in the lobby, Fu Hanjiang's sturdy constitution allowed him to feel a bit better after sitting for a while.

To his left was an activity room with transparent glass walls, allowing him to see inside. Since it was evening, only a few children were present.

Fu Hanjiang noticed one child standing alone, a little girl with short hair and big, grape-like eyes, looking incredibly adorable.

He couldn't help but watch.

Junjun, unaware of being observed, was carefully unscrewing the cap of a water-based marker at a dry-erase board.

"Hey! Give me that!"

Before she could do anything, a blonde girl came over and snatched the pen from her hand.

Junjun trembled slightly, looking at the girl with wide eyes, trying to reason with her.

"Sister, I picked this up first."

"Really?" The girl shrugged and raised an eyebrow. "But now it's in my hand."

She asked Junjun, "Do you want to draw?"

"Yes," Junjun nodded, hoping the older girl would give her the marker. "Sister, can I have it?"

"This?" The girl signaled to two boys nearby, then tossed the marker up. "Catch!"

"Got it!"

They began to play with the marker, treating it like a ball.

"..." Junjun pouted angrily, her big eyes blinking tearfully. "What you're doing is wrong..."

But the three children ignored her.

"Look, Casey, she's crying!"

"Really? Oh, she is."

"Asian girls are so fragile!"

"Haha..."

Junjun was from Jiangcheng, where discrimination was still a significant issue in Philadelphia. Moreover, there was no adult with her.

"..." Junjun stood still, her eyes wet.

"Hey!"

Suddenly, the activity room door swung open.

Junjun turned to see a tall, handsome uncle entering.

Fu Hanjiang walked straight to the boy holding the marker, extending his hand. "Please give me the marker."

He smiled slightly. "If you don't want to, we can go to the nurse's station. Shouldn't you be in bed by now?"

The children, all in hospital gowns, were scared at the mention of the nurses.

"Here!"

The boy threw the marker high. Fu Hanjiang raised his hand and caught it easily.

"Let's go!"

The three children exchanged glances and fled the activity room.

Fu Hanjiang held the marker, then turned to Junjun. "Here..."

Realizing how small she was, barely reaching his knees, he hesitated before crouching down. "Here, take it."

Junjun blinked her big eyes, took the marker, and in her childish voice said, "Thank you, Uncle."

She spoke in English.

Then, looking at his face, she switched languages. "Thank you, Uncle."

"Hmm?"

Fu Hanjiang raised an eyebrow and smiled. "You speak Chinese?"

"Yes," Junjun nodded. "I'm not from Philadelphia. I'm from Jiangcheng."

Jiangcheng?

Fu Hanjiang was surprised. She looked Asian, but he hadn't expected her to be a fellow 'countryman'.

Seeing his appearance, she switched to Chinese. She was a smart 'little countryman'.

"Really? Uncle is from Jiangcheng too."

"Wow!"

Junjun's eyes widened, sparkling. "My mom is in Jiangcheng too. Have you met my mom, Uncle?"

"No."

Fu Hanjiang laughed. Kids don't make logical connections.

How would he know her mother? How could he have met her?

For some reason, he felt a special fondness for this little girl, willing to humor her.

Pointing to the marker in her hand, he asked, "What were you going to do with the marker?"

"Oh, I wanted to write a message to tell my mom I miss her."

"Really?" Fu Hanjiang pointed to the whiteboard. "You can write it now."

"Yes."

Junjun moved closer to the board but then froze, unable to move.

"?" Fu Hanjiang was puzzled. "Why aren't you writing?"

"Uncle..."

Junjun pouted, about to cry. "I can't write yet, wahhh..."

Before she finished speaking, she tilted her head back and started crying.

"Hey!"

Fu Hanjiang was startled, fumbling in panic. Not knowing what to do, he hastily picked her up.

He spoke soothingly. "Don't cry. Uncle will help you, okay?"

"...Okay." Junjun nodded through her sobs.

Fu Hanjiang took her small hand, noting the dimples on the back, and guided it to the board. "What do you want to write?"

"Mom, Junjun misses you."

"Alright..."

Following her instructions, Fu Hanjiang guided her hand to write.

When it came to 'Junjun', he asked, "Which 'Jun' is it?"

"Huh?" Junjun blinked her big eyes in confusion. "It's just Junjun's 'Jun'."

Fu Hanjiang: ...

Well, he shouldn't have asked. How could he make things difficult for the little princess?

He figured it was probably the 'Jun' in 'Junzi' for girls.

"Wow..." Finally, Junjun smiled through her tears.

Pointing to their collaborative writing, she asked, "Is this 'Mom'?"

"Yes," Fu Hanjiang nodded, smiling.

"And this...is 'Junjun', right?"

"Mm-hmm, it is. You're very smart!" Fu Hanjiang couldn't resist patting her little head.

"Wow..." Junjun grinned, showing her teeth as she pointed to the whiteboard. "Mom taught me, I can recognize it!"

"Junjun!"

The nurse entered the room.

Junjun's small body stiffened. "Uncle, my nurse is here! I have to go!"

"Alright."

"Goodbye, Uncle!"

Junjun waved her little hand, took a few steps, then suddenly turned back, rushed to Fu Hanjiang, hugged him, and kissed his cheek.
