Kapitel 6: Chapter 6

"Congratulations!" Mavis smiled at me warmly. "This is your twentieth E-Class Job! With this, it means that you've officially upgraded to a D-Class Wizard!"

"Well done," Makarov agreed from his place sitting on the counter, giving me a warm smile.

"Thank you, Mavis, Master," I smiled at them both kindly.

Two weeks had passed since I started taking jobs, meaning I had now been in this world for a Month and one week. I decided to take one job a day, given that I could fly to places rather quickly with my wings, and the menial labour didn't bother me at all since I saw it as a chance to use it to strengthen myself.

Thanks to my Flugel Biology, hard labour actually really helped with strengthening my body. I wasn't ripped by any means, but I could see I had a little more definition on my body. Though it wasn't much, and I still looked very much like more of a 'beautiful' and 'cute' young man than anything, I was happy that I could feel myself getting stronger.

When I wasn't on missions, I decided to talk to and get to know my fellow guild members.

Levy was hard to get along with, but through no fault of her own… It was Jet and Droy who kept getting in the way. Honestly, it was kind of creepy how those two were so overprotective of Levy. She was the same age and them, and yet the two acted like her guardians and actively chased off any guys who tried to get close to her… Obviously both had a crush on Levy, but they both acted as though they were her boyfriends.

Sure, Gajeel was a dick, but at least he'd shown genuine remorse to how he'd treated Levy to the point he let Jet and Droy beat him up to make up for what he'd done to them. It was no wonder that Levy would choose Gajeel over the two of them, he had shown genuine remorse, and she could see that through his cold attitude was someone who wanted to be a better person.

Hell, even after they return from Fairy Sphere, Jet and Droy are basically all over Levy and are once again back to treating her like their girlfriend and wanting to keep people away from her… Honestly, those two are pretty fucking disgusting people and I wonder how everyone tolerates them.

Luckily, Levy immediately chastised them for being dickheads to me, and welcomed me to the guild kindly. The two of us became fast friends as we shared over our love of books. Given I holed up in the library during the night since I still didn't have a place to stay and didn't need sleep, I'd read through a lot of books, so we had a lot to talk about.

Honestly, talking to Levy gave me a new appreciation for her. She was seriously underrated as a waifu! She was kind, warm, and enthusiastic about her passions. When I didn't know about something, she patiently took the time to tell me about it and could say it in such a way that it sounded really compelling!

Honestly, had she not been dedicated to Team Shadow Gear, I would have absolutely invited her to form a Team together with me. Sadly, she was pretty dedicated to those two toxic idiots. I hoped, for her sake, she saw just how not okay those two were and quit the team.

Lisanna was someone else I ended up spending time with, once she got back from her mission with Mirajane and Elfman- yes, thank god Elfman was a guy too. She was just as she was in the anime, sweet, warm, and kind. She seemed genuinely interested when I talked about things, and happily talked about her own interests.

What she was interested in was also very surprising if you asked me. Lisanna, as it turned out, was much more of a tomboy than I gave her credit for. She actually enjoyed fighting quite a bit and was also extremely interested in training and improving herself. It was no wonder that Nozomi actually considered her someone that she enjoyed fighting, it turned out this Lisanna- who never went to Edolas- was likely inspired to train hard after almost dying against her own brother and became a top tier mage as a result.

I also got along rather well with Cana; she was a riot to talk to. Nozomi and I got along as fellow Dragon Slayers, but our conversations were pretty brief overall. I had promised to fight her at some point in the future though, so I was preparing for that to happen.

Everyone else at the guild was pretty nice, even Gray was a pretty chill person. I still didn't like him very much, but at the very least I could begrudgingly admit that he wasn't a bad guy… He just tended to be kind of an asshole to everyone around him, it was probably thanks to his own trauma, but he was still kind of a dick.

Honestly, after spending time here I understood why people liked the guild. It had its bad apples, but overall, it was a pretty lovely place.

"Now that you're a D-Class Wizard, you can officially take D-Class jobs," Mavis told me. "These jobs are a bit of an upgrade like retrieving items… Be warned that from now on you're almost expected to use magic on every mission. There's any number of variables from bandit attacks or beasts, even a Dark Wizard if you are exceptionally unlucky. But the possibility of most of these are quite low, so you should be fine."

I gave a nod at her words. "So, in essence, be careful."

"Exactly," she smiled.

I hummed. "Before I take any missions, I want to be sure, what is Fairy Tail's stance on killing?" I decided to ask. "Obviously, I will always avoid killing if I can. But I also understand that sometimes you really can't avoid killing, that it's the only choice you have in order to make sure that someone wicked cannot hurt anyone ever again."

Mavis let out a sad sigh, and Makarov took a long swig from his mug. "Exactly what you said," Makarov told him. "Kill if you must, but just try not to kill indiscriminately. We ask you only kill if someone is a truly reprehensible and vile person."

I hummed… Jellal during his brainwashing would count as such… Honestly, I thought Jellal was killed by Natsu during Tower of Heaven, but it turned out he was only almost killed. Instead, he was retrieved by Brain of the Oracion Seis who held him in stasis until Wendy was retrieved and healed him.

"Right, I think I'll see what jobs there are and if any appeal to me," I told them.

"Go ahead," Mavis smiled, and Makarov waved me off in response.

I headed over to the Notice Board and looked it over slowly, looking for a particular job… Ah, I found it. The job to burn Duke Everlue's Book.

Hm… Shame, it was a B-Class Job. I would love to get my hands on Virgo's Key for… Scientific reasons.

[Oh yes, so scientific~] BB teased as she floated behind me, smirking in amusement. [I assume you want to experiment on her, right? Maybe… Seeing how tight a Celestial Spirit's pussy is? Maybe how many spanks you can give a masochist before they actually start to dislike the pain? Or maybe how long she'll choke herself on your cock before coming up for air? ~]

I felt my face flush as BB's words, and I could feel the blood rushing to my face faster with every sentence she spoke…

Okay, admittedly I did want Virgo's key for lewd purposes… But come on! Virgo was… She was great. Nice, obedient, and kinky… You didn't have to worry about accidentally hurting her during sex, because she would like it.

I shook my head… Even still, I'd prefer to get to know Virgo as a person to make sure we were properly compatible before I fucked her. I didn't wanna become one of those transmigrants who just fucked everyone I saw because they caught my fancy, or because I had some preconceived notions about them that made me want them.

The best example of this was Juvia.

Juvia was one of my favourite girls in the Fairy Tail Universe… But, in truth, Juvia really needed to see a therapist. The amount of neglect and scorn the girl had obtained throughout her life, coupled with the fact she seemed incapable of holding onto a relationship, meant that the girl was incredibly emotionally damaged…

Hell, just look at what Juvia becomes after Gray leaves her to falsely join Avatar after Fairy Tail disbands! She becomes a complete and utter shell of her former self, unable to even function properly without Gray around! She genuinely looks as though she would rather be dead than keep living!

What Juvia needs more than anything is two things: emotional support, and to talk through her problems and come to the realisation that the rain really wasn't her fault… At least I was fairly sure it wasn't.

My guess was that Juvia, like Erza, had an incredible amount of magic power even as a child. Unlike Erza, however, Juvia awoke her magic power at an early age which resulted in it raining all the time as Juvia couldn't control her power. With her magic fuelled by her negative emotions, it only resulted in it continuously raining as she subconsciously kept believing that nobody would accept her. Even when she was in a relationship with Bora, it kept raining because she was sure he would reject her eventually- and that wasn't helped by the fact that she ended up being right.

At this point, the fact it rained around Juvia was likely more of a mental barrier. As long as nobody accepted her, it would always rain. It was only when Gray saved her life and accepted the rain, indirectly accepting her, that the rain finally stopped, and she could see the sun for the first time.

All that in mind, it was no wonder that Juvia clung to Gray after the events of the Guild War. It was the first time in her life that anyone had accepted her, since there were implications that her own parents resented and rejected her due to the fact it always rained around her. Gray was Juvia's light in the darkness when she had been drowning her whole life.

Honestly, it was tragic.

[Why are you thinking so hard about other girls, Senpai? ~] BB asked in a sweet voice that sent fearful shudders down my spine.

'… No reason…'

Right… Don't piss off the Outer God that is literally living in my head…

I quickly focused up on the noticeboard and looked for a suitable D-Rank Job… Honestly, I didn't foresee much difficulty with mere D-Rank Jobs given how easy many of them seemed. These ones seemed mostly geared around mild danger, going into animal infested woods to find something, acting as a bodyguard to help deal with bandits attacking carriages, that sort of thing.

The reason the chances of encountering a Dark Mage were so low was because Dark Mages generally formed groups with other Dark Mages to perform their illegal acts. It was incredibly rare for a Dark Mage to work alone, so much so that the only Dark Mage I could find in the history books who worked alone was Zeref. And, even then, Zeref ultimately ended up forming the Alvarez Empire.

Even powerful mages like Brain and Hades teamed up with others, forming Guilds for their goals.

Dark Mages understood the fundamental idea that working alone just wasn't viable, no matter how powerful you are. Eventually, a Guild would be hired to take them down, and fighting against a guild by yourself was just suicide. So, they teamed up with others and carefully selected their attack targets to make sure they weren't caught.

Even Zeref wasn't an exception to this… He formed the Alvarez Empire because he knew that, even with his immortality, he couldn't face Ishgar alone. If he tried to do so, even with all his power, then he would eventually be captured and sequestered in a place far from civilization where even the light wouldn't reach, bound in chains that even his curse of contradiction wouldn't be able to break.

I shook my head clear of the thoughts, grabbing a simple D-Class job to retrieve some supplies that had to be left behind in a forest due to a wild animal attack.

This was ideal for me since I could repair the damaged supplies with my Time Magic and deal with the animals with my Dragon Slaying Magic. Plus, being a Flugel meant I could fly, and they wouldn't reach me.

"Mavis, Master," I showed them my chosen job. "I'll be taking this job, okay?"

"Hm…" Mavis looked it over. "Ah, you chose a very suitable job for yourself! Okay, approved! Be safe!"

"I'll do my best," I smiled at her before I turned and walked out the guild.

Another day, another job to do!
