Kapitel 66: Chapter 66 Sun Yao Is Sick Again

"I'm asking you one last time, are you gonna pay up or not?" the old man in front of the sofa demanded, his face dark with anger.

Sun Yao stood there, showing not the slightest intention to compromise.

"I told you, I don't have any money."

The old man, inflamed with rage, grabbed a plate with leftover food from the table and hurled it at her.

Sun Yao watched the plate flying towards her but didn't dodge.

The plate struck her chest, the leftovers soiling her clothes, yet she seemed utterly indifferent.

"You ungrateful brat, today, I swear I'll beat you to death," the old man snarled as he advanced, raising his hand to strike Sun Yao's face.

She bit her lower lip hard, standing still and watching his hand swing towards her.

She let out a wry smile.

These were her parents, her brother, her flesh and blood.

She closed her eyes, bracing herself for the slap.

But after waiting what felt like an eternity, the slap never landed on her face.
