Kapitel 448: Chapter 449: Jahn Kottman Doesn't Want to Speak

Klein was momentarily stunned but quickly understood what Lynn meant.

The reason why Kalvetua had been able to dodge the Church of Storm's attention for so long was largely due to the special nature of the space where its body resided. Despite the Storm Church's Beyonders being adept on land, sea, and air, they were not proficient in handling matters related to space and the spirit world. Furthermore, they were unwilling to let other churches get involved, which is why Kalvetua had not yet been eliminated.

However, just because the Storm Church couldn't get the coordinates didn't mean others couldn't. It was clear Lynn had his own methods.

Klein couldn't help but wonder what Archbishop Kottman would think of this. Would he regret not seeking help from other churches earlier? As Klein mused, he grew increasingly excited about the upcoming event to eliminate Kalvetua.

He truly needed a powerful high-sequence mystical item to maintain his guise as The Fool. The comprehensive contact with Silver City had indeed put some pressure on him. Though he had support from two mighty figures, the Angel of Secrets and the War Angel, Klein knew he couldn't rely on them forever. If he wanted to keep his identity as The Fool hidden, he would need to not only elevate his own sequence but also acquire high-level mystical items.

If he could obtain a Sequence 3 mystical item, then even if Silver City required his help in the future, The Fool wouldn't have to resort to merely watching or begging others for assistance.

But this also meant that Klein would owe more to both Lynn and the Angel of Secrets. He wasn't sure if he'd ever be able to repay those favors in the future... As these thoughts passed through his mind, Klein glanced at his companion. Before the unexpected fusion, he could still help his friend recover lost memories, but now, Klein wasn't sure how he could assist.

After all, Lynn seemed like he didn't lack anything.

The only thing Klein could do now was focus on his own advancement. It was clear this was what Lynn and the Angel of Secrets expected of him. And only when he reached a certain level could he be of real help to them.

Moreover, Klein had a strong hunch that Lynn wanted him to rise through the ranks not just for the sake of having a savior but because there were things only he could accomplish.

"You seem to have the right mindset," Lynn said, suddenly putting a hand on Klein's shoulder, looking moved like a proud father.

Then, with a smile, he added, "But don't worry too much. If you can help me in the future, I'll be glad. But even if you can't, it's fine. We're friends, after all. We don't need to keep score. I'm sure if you were in my position, you'd help me too."

Klein was taken aback but didn't refute.

If he were in Lynn's shoes, he would also help without hesitation.

Lynn's words confirmed Klein's suspicion—Lynn indeed had some favor to ask of him in the future, once he grew stronger. Given Lynn's peculiar situation, Klein was almost certain it had something to do with whether Lynn could retain his humanity before the vast and unknowable force.

Understanding this, Klein looked at Lynn seriously and said, "No matter what the future holds, I will help you."

Lynn blinked and then laughed, "Alright, I'll be waiting for that day."

The others present, of course, were clueless about this exchange, but Lynn didn't care. Smiling, he clapped his hands and said, "Alright, let's head to the Cathedral of Waves."

...

Jahn Kottman was in a foul mood.

As the Archbishop of the Cathedral of Waves Jahn had been eyeing Kalvetua for a long time. Although the creature's special location had made it impossible to pinpoint, he had always been waiting for the day when Kalvetua would collapse—he knew that day would come. With the Sea God Cult being steadily suppressed and its followers dwindling, That Snake had long been in a weakened state, and its collapse was only a matter of time.

After all, Kalvetua hadn't advanced through the normal means to Sequence 3. From Jahn's perspective, it was likely just a lucky survivor of an accidental consumption of a Beyonder characteristic, its very existence tied to the special ruins it inhabited.

Although he hadn't yet located the ruins, Jahn knew that Kalvetua didn't have long to live, so he wasn't too worried.

But what he hadn't expected was a sudden divine message from his Lord, instructing him to assist others in dealing with Kalvetua and to meet their every demand.

What did this mean? It meant that all his work over the past few years had been in vain. The feast was not only being taken from his plate but he also had to cook it for someone else.

Jahn: "..."

He was furious, but he couldn't defy the divine message!

If Jahn were just a little less devout in his faith toward the Lord of Storms, he would've struck the smug young man before him and his nosy companions with a bolt of lightning to show them what the Sea King's wrath meant.

But, unfortunately, he was indeed a devout believer. So, no matter how terrible his mood is, he restrained himself as much as possible and said, "I will provide the necessary assistance, but I cannot pinpoint the ruins where Kalvetua resides. A long-distance attack alone won't be enough to kill it."

"Leave the locating to us. You just focus on killing Kalvetua," Lynn smiled, seemingly unaware of the foul mood Ian Cortman was in. "Oh, and once Kalvetua is dead, we'll take over the Sea God Cult, so please keep its fall a secret, at least for now."

Hearing this, Jahn instinctively frowned.

Faith across the Five Seas was diverse, but the Storm Church was undoubtedly dominant—enjoying a clear home advantage. After all, the Beyonders of the Sailor Pathway were naturally suited to life on the sea! So, as the Archbishop of the Cathedral of Waves and the Storm Church's main authority across the Five Seas, Jahn had a deep-seated disdain for any secret organizations that tried to compete for believers on the seas. Over the years, he had destroyed countless small cults worshipping strange and evil gods.

He immediately realized that the young man in front of him—or more likely, the entity behind him—wanted to take over the Sea God Cult's followers, turning the Sea God into its avatar to gather faith across the seas.

This was clearly a dance on his red line, but what could he do? The divine message from the Lord of Storms had explicitly told him to cooperate fully.

So he could only grit his teeth and say, "Alright, but if you're going to take over, you'd better keep them under control."

"Don't worry, we will," Lynn replied with a smile.
