STELLA’s POV

“How did you find Vince?” I asked breathlessly.

“Daniel did some research in your school, what happened to you that night before Lucy beat you,” he said simply. “What we didn’t we sort of pieced together.”

“So you know everything?” I asked nervously.

“I’m sorry.” He apologized almost immediately.

I knew I should have been angry. I knew I could have yelled and screamed for looking into my history without my permission. But, I just didn’t have it in me. I was too weak to fight back.

“Stella, why did you never run away?” Cheol asked again.

“I still love Aunt Lucy as my own mother,” I said. “I thought she could love me too. I thought she could return the love I was giving her. But as time passes by, she became worse.” I paused. ”And Dino. I couldn’t just leave my brother like that.”

“Dino is not your brother.”
