ASHLEY’s POV

As soon as the door of Vernon’s apartment flew open, I jumped into him as I wrapped my arms around his neck and sobbed loudly.

“Ashley! What happened?” he asked worriedly. He was surprised as he hugged me back and ran his palm over my back. “What’s wrong, Ash?”

He dragged me inside and closed the door behind me. I was still clinging at him and I felt my knees getting weak that I couldn’t move, so he lifted me up and carried me bridal style to the couch.

“Ash…” he placed me down and continued rubbing his palm on my back, trying to comfort me and to stop me from crying. “Is it Uno?”

My sobs became louder when I heard his name, and I used Vernon’s shirt to wipe my tears away.

“Ashley!” he whined and pulled his shirt back from my grip.

“I need a tissue!” I exclaimed and then blew my nose on his shirt.
